Timesplitters 2 (GC) $10 at Fry's Electronics

Is the EB deal online? What system is it for? New, or used?

Where were you on the night of the 26th? Who do you work for? :)

if you can get it for xbox, there are plenty of people playing it online and so many fan created maps/levels. the lan gaming on/offline is great. ps2 lan/netplay is a bit harder to setup then xbox version. but if you can wait, TS3 is on the horizon. already got the greenlight.
Timesplitters 2 is awesome. i'd suggest getting it for PS2 or xbox, though. GC isn't great for FPSs.
The PS2 controller sucks tremendous wang for this game. The demo on PS2 actually made me wait to get the GC version, which I thoroughly regret now.

Yay! I got my copy 2 days ago...but now my friend wants to repurchase it for GCN (he already has the PS2 one).....IS the deal still valid?

I'm so tired of people assuming the Xbox version of a game is better than the GameCube version. There is NOTHING wrong with the GameCube version. I played it and had no problem with the controller. The GC version even has a higher rating than the Xbox version on gamerankings.com:
Xbox 87.8%
GameCube 90.2%

I'll try and pick up the GameCube version. Online play for the PS2 would be nice, but I don't have a multitap to get some 4 player madness going! Oh, the days of Goldeneye!

The PS2 controller does anything but suck.

If it is so terrible, why is every controller, from just about everyone other than Microsoft, emulate the basic form factor of Sony's controller?

Ergonomically, the form factor cannot, and has not been beat.

I'll tell u what, you keep an eye on ergonomic trends in game controllers, and be sure to let us know when another design overtakes the Sony design in the general market. Once all the PC controllers, and Nintendo's controllers, start looking less like Sony's, I'll be happy to listen to you.

And I'm not talking the RetroCON from Mad Catz...

Actually, the Xbox S looks very similar to the Dreamcast controller. Heck, they even have the same buttons (X,Y,B,A) in the same place and two memory ports as well.

Oh, Timesplitters 2 is an awesome game. I picked it up on the GCN a month or so ago and haven't regretted it at all. I'd highly recommend this game for anyone looking for a quality FPS that's a blast to play multi-player.

Two "similar" designs do not a trend make, especially when one of the consoles is a dead platform.

I do not want this to be a console wars thread, I am merely slapping the hands of uninformed fanboys.

Fan boys slapping the hands of other fan boys... Very amusing.

LOL. Thanks for your input.

I went to Fry's today and all their copies were labeled $19.99. I brought it to the register and indeed it was $19.99. I still bought it though.

Ehh... You're aware that the PS2 controller was based off of the SNES controller, are you not? All sony did was add extra shoulder buttons, and eventually analog sticks (which weren't sony's innovation in the first place). Even the start and select buttons are in the exact same locations, even though "select" has been useless since the 80s. I could go on, but I think my point has been made. Sorry for getting off topic.

Of course the PSOne button layout resembles the SNES. After all, Sony and Nintendo were working together on the "Playstation" for a while before Nintendo bailed out, pissing off Sony and Square. Only then did Sony decide to proceed with the plans without the Big N.
