This thread has been replaced by TSDT v11

Daily Deal:
Please check the Steam homepage.

Weeklong Deals:
Steam usually has week-long deals that change on Mondays at 6PM UTC. They mostly feature indie games, and may not run every week.

Sale summary lists:

Key:
⤷ indicates DLC, — specifies part of a pack, + shows alternative versions, ⚠ highlights things worth knowing, ♫ is obvious, and ... denotes a multi-pack.

Holiday Sale 2013 | 19/12/13 through 3/1/14:
Days 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13-14.

Spring/Autumn Sale 2013 | 27/11/13 through 3/12/13:
All days.

Steam deals on other stores: (Related threads on CAG.)

Indie* bundle threads: (*Not always indie, nor always a bundle.)

Free stuff:
There are quite a few free games (mostly Free to Play) and mods available via the Steam platform, a comprehensive list of which can be found in this thread on the SPUF.
(NOTE: free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.)

I forgot to said: another holiday passed without being gifted bad rats. I WON. Aaaand no, now it's too late, holidays over already

Another Bad rats free year!

The way I see it, if the base game was previously listed as a completed game and you then purchase the DLC, prompting you to play the game through again (or whatever portion is necessary) to experience said DLC, you can count that as a separate entity for your "games completed this year" purposes.

If you didn't play the game until owning the DLC, it's all one thing, sorry.

Civ V comes to mind here, but only with regard to the two expansions.  Buying a new civ doesn't count as a new game.

How am I supposed to take your opinion seriously when you've never played Seduce Me?

Just as a heads up, booted up Brothers last night and was messing around with it.  In case you're wondering, this Note on steam is total BS.

Why is Steam lying to us?

Also, Brothers was made by 505 Games, and when I saw that I thought of Neuro5i5.  Is that weird?

All that just to say you want to be spanked by Neuro? (and banderas, of course)

What? Why didn't you tell me, check your PM!

Also, MyD did drop $10 from Gamersgate on Krater: Soundtrack Ed PC, when it first hit that.
Why is your penis paying so much for indie games?

I'm ashamed to say I paid 2.50 for it

Still haven't touched it

poopz
I paid $2.99 and after having played it would pay full price (yeah, I said it).

Don't like it?

Too bad.

It's my list, not yours.

#DealWithIt.
Well that was unnecessary.

Super Mario Brothers was never SOLD like that.
So by your standards, should I count every RockBand song as its own game?

Hey ashes, you are a racing expert... if I loved Burnout Paradise single player and co-op challenges, but hated Need for Speed Hot Pursuit, would I like Most Wanted? From the trailers it looked a lot like Burnout Paradise. I'm wondering cause it's gonna be on Editors Choice. This might sound dumb for someone asking about a racing game but I don't really like competitive multiplayer.

Hmm... I really liked BP & HP... so I'm not exactly sure about what to say. I thought MW (2012) was a letdown. The map is small. The cars are all samey. There's little sense of progression in the SP campaign. And it has performance issues... with tweaking I got it to average 45 FPS (and not dropping below 30) on a GTX 660 + 720 BE.

I picked it up for $5 and DLC for $7/7.50 at thanksgiving. The DLC isn't worth that much (terminal velocity is cool, but I only grabbed the DLC to satisfy my completionist needs.).

Guess I'll have to think about it some more. What I didn't like about HP were the weapons, the lack of exploration & collectibles, and it felt too much like a sim at times... at a certain point in the campaign I felt like I was driving as perfectly as I was capable of and still not coming close to the target times to proceed. That's what made me give up on the game. It was expecting some level of perfection that I didn't have. I never ran into that in Paradise.

I found MW unchallenging... not requiring the precision that HP needing in some sections. It also lacks the weapons/countermeasures system of HP.

Just wanted to chime in to say if you liked the co-op stuff from Burnout Paradise, you might dig the multiplayer mode in Most Wanted. I agree with Ashes that the single player in the game has a pretty weak progression system, but I dug the challenge and race sets in multiplayer. I liked when the game asked the whole party to navigate to the top of a building, or score the biggest jump off a certain piece of architecture. I ended up spending many more of my hours in multi after unlocking the "boss" cars from single, and I dug that earning points in Single or Multi will help to unlock stuff in the other mode.

It's not Criterion's best racing game, but I found it fun, and if you can get it for $5, I would still recommend it. Here's the video that sold me on it, multiplayer mode starts around 16 minutes in:

That's not a complete version: it's just the DLC.
Oops I didn't realize that! I've just been reading about how to this day people are having major issues even getting the DLC to show up in their game. I don't know if I want this any more. Definitely wouldn't pay $7 more for the DLC. No confidence that I could get it to run smoothly without turning all the graphics way down. It's probably a better idea to just skip this game, oh well. One less Origin-only game in my collection, score!

So uh.. I can't believe I didn't remember this game when I posted my impressions for Contrast recently..

Sideway New York

It has a VERY similar gameplay style to Contrast, but it's a much more complete game and it's a bit longer. It took me around 8 hours to complete and get all of the achievements. You're not a shadow, your character is spraypainted onto a wall. The atmosphere isn't anywhere near as good as contrast, and theres not much of a story, but the gameplay is much more solid. The music can get repetitive, and it may not be your thing.. but it's worth playing if you got it from the first Groupees Be Mine or Build a Bundle.

Too bad the game was basically forgotten, no one talks about it. They hinted at a sequel being planned, but I don't know if it's in development.

EDIT: Oh, and it has local co-op

Anyone else besides indef and myself in the Elder Scrolls Online beta this weekend? There's a lonely thread about it on the CAG MMO group.

Still want Contrast but I'm taking your advice and waiting. I'd have picked it up from GMG at 75% off if they'd have had the keys. I'm still not sure if the key from amazon comes with the soundtrack or not.
Unlikely. The MSRP for the Amazon version matches the standard edition not the CE:
