Not a deal per se but officially announced, the Xbox One bundle with a digital copy of Titanfall and a month of XBL is up for preorder at amazon. So you save about $60 which isn't bad if you were going to get an Xbox one for titanfall anyways.

do you guys think we will see a price cut in USA for xbone before black friday?

You'd only see a price cut is sales keep struggling compared to ps4. At most I'd expect some bundles and/or gift card deals. Earliest you'd hear of a price cut would be around e3

Target already jumped the gun on the GC. M$ is jumping the gun on bundle (with titanfall) this happened within 3 months.

While you are right, I don't think we will see a price cut in US, I can see a bundle deal with GC. Or a very nice bundle deal (1 game and/or extra controller or anther game).

I could see a $50 price cut in 6 months if they start to fall behind too much in the US. Microsoft's first priority is to do well, if not lead the US in console sales.

As for black friday, you'll definitely see games bundled with the system.

it makes you wonder...

if  Microsoft is desperate right now (3 months after launch) what would they do around christmas season?

better bundles? lower prices?  removal of kinect?

I think something to clarify with the console debate is that some folks actually own both current gen systems. I own both the 360 and PS3 and even I think both next gen systems are not worth the price of entry at this point. Although I personally plan to own a PS4 before a Xbone, it isn't a fanboy attack when I feel like the Titanfall bundle is a slap in the face to the early adopters. Regardless, this game will do well and be a system seller. As to how much remains to be seen. Excellent points made by phoenixlau.

The longer it takes for this game to come out, the more people become aware that this is only a multiplayer game. Don't underestimate the ignorance of the masses. Just a couple of months ago, a couple of parents in a line in front of me were asking a Gamestop employee whether the Xbone let's you play used games. Incredible.

It's a smart move to advertise it as an Xbone game but I'm more than content with playing the 360 version that I preordered at Best Buy (GCU and $10 RZ is still the best deal out there) as I'd bet the port between systems won't be that big of a difference.
yeah, just like outrage when people heard it was 6 vs 6 multiplayer only.

Lord. It's not tanking. Performing better than 360, and has sold about the same amount as Sony in the US (and that's with a $100 difference in price). They obviously realize they're not doing as well as they could be and that, inevitably, Sony can really get away from them in the sales race. Having foresight isn't a slap to early adopters. Would you people rather they do nothing like the House of Luigi ?!
If it ain't shittin' on MS, that poor house of luigi is sure to get it!

3 years down the road this game might be practically unplayable as the community dies out.
Everyone will be playing the sequel by then
You're not thinking big enough. 3 years? The beauty of multiplayer only (aka stealth always-on DRM) is that they can shut down the Titanfall servers as soon as Titanfall 2 comes out NEXT year to drive you to buy the new version, since your old game is instantly rendered worthless. NBA 2K already does pretty much exactly that EVERY year (good luck playing any mode besides exhibition match in 2K14 once the servers shut down as scheduled in 9 months).

This. I had 2k14 for the first time ever for ps4. I was playing the career mode thing and one day it wouldnt let me play it cause I couldnt connect to the damn servers. I was like wtf? Never touhed it again and will never buy a garbage game like that. I think for 2k14 it has to do with the microtransaction bullshit or something, but still redickulous that I have to be connected to servers to play a SINGLEPLAYER MODE.

He's a fanboy because he stated the objective truth that the PS4 is more powerful and has had superior quality multiplatform titles? I don't see what is "fanboy" about that.
FACT: Sony is in a horrible state. They have sold off property, closed down/sold the PC division, their Santa Monica Studio had major layoffs, and they are shutting down their physical stores which comes with more layoffs.

I collect all the systems (dating back to the late 80s), but I haven't bitten on the PS4 or XB1 yet.    If this bundle would have come with the limited edition controller, I would have gotten it, that's how close Microsoft was to making a sale, all of a few cents worth of paint on a controller.   As it is, I'll hold off for a while, there may be price drops around E3 in June.

I want to get an XBOX ONE but I really prefer Titanfall on a disc(Since the XBOX ONE already comes with so little amount of hard drive space) is there a way maybe I Can trade in the voucher for the actual game disc?
You'd need to download the game onto hard drive regardless if it was disc. Other than owning it physically the system seems set up to be more of a digital route.

Could you please quote anywhere in this thread were I have bashed the xbox one and/or Titanfall? I think you have me confused with someone else? Wouldn't be the first time some one has.

You've accused me twice now of "fanboying" for sony but have given no evidence of me doing so.
While you never bash it directly, you definitely leave off hints of not liking the console. After about three months of seeing posts like these from you, it gets pretty old, leading people to believe that you are, in fact, a fanboy. Whether you are or not, I don't care, but the fact remains you hardly ever have anything constructive to say about the system. This isn't a dig at you, you're entitled to your opinion, just don't get offended when people call you out on something after you give out that same vibe.

I don't get how some people think the X1 is tanking. It's still somewhat competitive to the PS4 even with the 100 dollar price difference, the lower performance stuff, and the PR nightmare it got when it was first announced. That stigma lasted for a while, and as Donut has already exemplified, some still don't know it plays used games.

On another note, I think as the year goes on, sales are clearly going to increase for both PS4 and X1, especially if X1 gets a price cut or retailers keep offering gift cards. Unless Titanfall ends up being absolutely terrible and tanks, it's more than likely that the player base will increase as the year goes on, rather than increase. I know of three friends that have already bought an X1 in the past week just to get Titanfall, and I know at least a dozen more people that are waiting for this Titanfall bundle to come out to pick it up.

He acts innocent, but he makes it obvious he dislikes the console without ever directly stating it. You learn to avoid some of his opinions.

Didn't know that about Wii u. Learn something new everyday. :)

Mostly true. The company as a whole is struggling, and they recently got their credit rating downgraded. Don't know that I'd call it "horrible," though.

But the gaming side is actually doing quite well, buoyed by the worldwide success of the PS4. Closing down one project/team at the Santa Monica Studio is hardly a matter for concern (unless you're also worried about Microsoft scrapping Black Tusks' new IP and being reassigned to the recently purchased Gears franchise). And closing down physical stores is simply a matter of those stores not being a profitable venture to continue with.

Not sure why any of this matters, though. I guess I just don't get fanboyism. I like whatever is good. The 360 was my most played console last gen. This gen it's likely going to be the PS4. I also own a Wii U and 3DS. I harbor no ill will towards Microsoft, although I do think they've gone more anti-consumer with their practices lately, which is disappointing.

There are two perspectives in the great "Console Wars": subjective and objective. Subjectively, you can say that Titanfall or inFamous is the better platform exclusive, and justify your reasons for such a position, or make whatever subjective argument you want for one console or the other. But objectively, you absolutely have to admit that the PS4 has more raw power, and thus far that raw power (and maybe better development kits/tools) has turned into the superior version of multiplatform games. To suggest otherwise would simply be burying your head in the sand.

Xbox one is a fine system. The media/tv features just aren't for me. I traded mine in only because I got $450 for it and no dates yet on games im interested in. This holiday if there are giftcard deals and/or bundles ill pick one up if any of the games im interested in are out (sunset overdrive, halo)

Not trying to be a dick but you cannot objectively described a company whose market cap droped from 200 billion to less than ~18 billion in any other words than horrible. Sony, as a company, is struggling massively but the Playstation brand is doing pretty well right now. They are kicking ass in PS4 sales and hopefully Vita sales will pick up as well but they still have a long way to go before profitability.

I traded my xbone in and headset with it and got 460 something toward the titanfall bundle. cant wait to get a cool new box!

First, horrible is a subjective term to begin with, so I'm not sure how it can be objectively applied. Second, when was Sony's market cap $200 billion? From my research, it looks like the peak was $100 billion in 2000, 14 years ago. The market cap had plunged to $18 billion by 2011, a period of time in which many tech companies saw their bubble burst to some extent, so why is everything such doom and gloom now, and why does it even matter? If the Playstation brand is strong and profitable, it doesn't really matter what happens to Sony. If Sony goes under, the Playstation division will be sold off as an asset to someone like Samsung or Amazon or whomever, and the wheels will keep turning.

I honestly don't know why this topic is even brought up in the Console Wars.

All adjectives are subjective. I got the figure from this article and this one. People discuss this because not every company manages their investment the same way. If the Playstation or Xbox brand is sold off to Amazon or Samsung the company who buys them will not run them the same way. There will definitely be changes. These changes can be pretty significant for people who only own digital content. That why people always worry about the parent company. Either way this has nothing to do with Titanfall bundle being on sale for $499. So let's get back to that.

I played halo 4 without stepping foot in the online mode.
Same, never touched it.

Titanfall will be the first time I've done online MP, outside of playing with friends, since the early days of Tribes and Unreal on PC. Hopefully this bundle and game will get more folks into or back into the MP fold.

A-hem! Attention kmart shoppers! I actually figured out a way that you can get this for $425. That is, if you have a Meijer around you. They're having 15% off of general merchandise today and tomorrow, and as always, the amazon kindle cards work.

So I purchased $500 worth of amazon kindle cards for $425, and I'm probably going to sell the Titanfall and 1 month xbox live download code for $45-50, so that cuts the costs of a brand new xbox one down to $380 for me.

But anyways, if you guys have a Meijer around you, seriously, get in on this kindle card deal and you can get this bundle for $425. You REALLY can't beat that.

sadly no meijers around me, anyone else have any great ideas to reduce cost? Possibly a Best Buy 'secret' sale for 5x points or something? I really want to buy Xbox One/Titanfall!

There was a way to get the bundle for $474.99 from MS last week, but that loophole has been closed.. If we're going to see another deal soon, we'll probably see something around the time the 360 version lands.

Loophole? I believe I got an email from M$ showing the $475 price if you use the 5% code

I'm actually hoping & waiting for a 3x-5x points to be send out during the week Titanfall.

Back on topic,
It seem that my local Bestbuy are sold out of pre-order bundles. I was really hoping to snag one, but I'm a bit late to the party.

I was hoping the same thing. Lost hope then and found flips to bring down the price.

Just checked and the $475 is still going on at the Microsoft Store. Still the best deal unless you have a Redcard, also comes with free ground release date delivery if ordered before the 8th.

I have a code I'm not using if anyone wants it (Not sure if they're tied to your account or not though)

Yup, loophole.. MS stopped the promo on it, saying it wasn't meant to apply to the TF bundle. Far as I know, it was honored though.

If you don't consider that a loophole, temporary, mistaken or not, no difference to me.

YMMV but I got amazon to PM it by giving me $25 credit toward the bundle. I just asked if they would match Microsoft.com, didn't even need to have a link. Official policy is no PM'ing outside of TV's but she said she can just credit my account $25 which is the same thing haha. So with Prime release date shipping and no tax in FL, I was good to go.

That's a pretty significant number of months to wait over what will likely be about a $50 difference.

Fact: there will ALWAYS be a better deal 6 months from now.

And the choice is always the same: wait x-months and eventually get more for the same or less, or pay the price, jump in now and start playing. If there's something you need to play NOW, get it. If you have enough to tide you over for a while, wait.

I saw Titanfall. I needed to play Titanfall. I got me an X1 to do that. Could I have saved some scratch and gone with the 360 version? Sure, assuming it's any good.. still can't believe it's media-dark. Was I eventually going to get an X1 anyway? Yup. And I'm totally happy with that choice, even though I didn't want to pay for the system (who does?).

I'm dying to play Fire Emblem on the 3DS. Should I wait? Good news for me is the 2DS came out, so I can save some bucks and go that route. There are options. There will be more X1 options down the road, as there will be PS4 options, etc.

So, dive in or wait. The money is rather relative, because it doesn't take into account the time you could be enjoying whatever you buy.

He might have been referencing the fact it's still alive. I just added one to my cart and applied the code and it still gives the 5%, unless of course they only cut it off for new codes.

I think these are the two biggest factors to keep in mind.... Some people are willing to give up six months of enjoyment to save $5, $10, $50 etc.

I am not.

I'm not overly happy with the X1 in general but I don't regret my launch day purchase. At worse (or best depending on how you look at it) I figure I spent $100 more then what someone could get it for 6-12 months from now and that is a $100 I won't miss

for me it was mainly an impulse buy due to the hype of Titanfall (which I can get in PC)

the low resolution on most XBONE games is a big negative for me.  the more I analyze it, the closer I get to canceling my pre order.

besides Titanfall what other game is worth getting in the coming weeks / months for XBONE?

Metal Gear and Watch Dogs. Batman way later. No idea when Quantum Break,Project Sparks, Halo or Sunset Overdrive comes out.

Dead Rising 3, and Ryse are really good games in my opinion, although Ryse isn't exactly long.

Future term I think Metal Gear Solid is the only thing that won't be on PC, although Watch Dogs might come out earlier since that seems to be how it works for Ubisoft.
