A-fucking-men, the only reason benchmarks matter this generation is because a Sony product is finally the strongest since the PSX (that and a wider adoption of PC gaming). Both PS2 and PS3 were weaker than the competition (especially the PS2, seriously, see the RE4 port) and you didn't see this institutionalized crapping on them. It's indoctrinated marketing, plain and simple. I'd go as far as to say that the PS4 is the new 360, and the Xbox One is on its way to being the new PS3 (not that anyone else will admit that). What matters most with consoles (especially if you're a PC gamer) is the library, then if the libraries are pretty much the same for you, come the benchmarks.

Ugh, just when I thought we were done with that overrated game. Can't wait for it to win more awards it doesn't deserve (seriously, the DICE awards this year were a joke because of that game). It's good (7/10), but it shouldn't win ~20 awards in one awards show.

Halo 4 takes a dump all over the lore. I, like Idiot, really loved Halo's lore (I even had a bunch of the books) until Call of Duty: Space Edition. I really hope they redeem themselves by the end of the trilogy.

You can still play it for PC, but there are rumours of a Xbox One port of Halo 2 and possibly 3. There's going to be a Halo product this year for Xbox One (Voice Actor confirmed), but the VA also said it wouldn't be Halo 5. Wait for E3.

I really think you haven't looked at or played most of the exclusives I listed because you pretty much dismissed all the titles as a "joke". That's the only reason the "fanboy" implication would come into play. Most people haven't, which is a damn shame, imo. Like I said, the 360 exclusives go far beyond Halo, Forza and Gears. You just have to be willing to try.

Here's a game I promise you will like, that I think I left out of the list: Shadow Complex. It is a fantastic Metroidvania. Look it up. Also, what Bruticus said is on-the-mark. You gotta look deeper if you wanna find something you like.

I agree, but my main issue is when I do that I can't really listen to the game so I end up playing it on mute. Takes some of the fun out of it.

Haven't played through 4 to completion, I'll admit. My friend bought it and I played some of the campaign with him, but never felt compelled enough to borrow it from him and play it through myself (by this time I had hundreds of Steam games, and when you're swimming in a backlog...). I played some of it online too, with friends, and it was fun. Really, Halo's MP has been heavily influenced by CoD since Reach (as have most MP FPSs since MW), but it's innately Halo and different enough to stand on its own.

Really though, the core Bungie Halo trilogy is what the series should be judged by. I loved ODST and Reach as well, but a lot of people didn't.

So because I think most of that list is a joke I've never played any of the games? I picked Forza, Halo and Gears because those are the most high profile ones 360 has. I've played shadow complex. As I said, there are some decent, and good games on that list, but overall, comparatively speaking, the 360's exclusives just aren't anywhere near as exciting as the ps3's are to me. And just because that list has a few good games doesn't mean it can't still be overall a joke. There are very few games on that list I would consider to be, if any, even arguably great, and for every splosion man or shadow complex you listed (which i thought was decent, nothing special), there was a too human or doritos crash course, which aren't what i would consider good games (yes, i played some of doritos crash course because it was free, and i played the too human demo, which was enough for me to see it was fuck ing terrible).

Loads of minigames, four players, points totaling up round after round, seeing who comes out the champion. Games like everyone dropped on a platform that gets smaller and smaller, rolling around in balls trying to knock each other off, or shooting at each other with flamethrowers and shit, or running up a tower having to jump/duck under obstacles and see who does the best, etc.

Single player, kinda pointless. One of the funnest party games I've ever played though. So many good memories with that series.

No, but a number of bad games doesn't make the good ones any less good. There are enough pretty good titles on that list, that I don't think the exclusives library is a "joke". I mean how many bad Wii exclusives are there? A lot. How many bad PS2 exclusives are there? Just as many. Does that make their exclusives library a joke? No, because there's a number of good games, even if they're outnumbered by the bad. The only consoles with a "joke" of an exclusive library imo are the CD-i and the Virtual Boy.

I never said you didn't play any of the games, just that you seemed to skim over the list. I mean.. it's a pretty big list, how many of them could you have played?

I laughed at the idea of people arguing that since the answer is so obvious. (The Nomad wins because Genesis on the go). I hope you know that I'm not arguing the 360 exclusives are better than the PS3 (not at all), just that it isn't completely one-sided in the PS3's favour.

ODST is actually my favorite of the franchise (that I've played so far, Reach may knock it down a spot), with 3 being my least favorite (but I'm only judging it from a campaign perspective, since I didn't spend much time online).

my point is the reason the list is so big is because a lot of the games you listed are complete trash (hence me mentioning doritos crash course and too human as examples), and there aren't very many great games on that list, although there are some decent ones, and even fairly good ones. if you cut out the crap that list would be considerably smaller. my point was never "360 is the only system that has a few crappy exclusives" my point was that compared to the ps3 (and the wii, for that matter), in my opinion, as a whole, the 360's quality exclusives are sorely lacking. i'm sure if i did a bunch of research and listed every wii/ps3 exclusive i could find i could make a humongous list also.

I doubt he meticulously typed each 360 game from memory to make that list, he just copied and pasted it and quickly added comments by a few standouts.

PS3 and Wii (ESPECIALLY the Wii) have bloated lists full of terrible games too. It all comes down to preference, but I think the entire argument comes from calling the exclusive list a "joke" when you simply dislike the heavy hitters (Halo, Gears, Forza, etc) and have only played a small handful of other exclusives.

I don't like the exclusives the PS3 has, to be honest, but I certainly wouldn't call it a joke just because they don't pander to my tastes.

Well, I didn't list every exclusive, I listed the ones that I thought were good (you'll notice there's like 2 or 3 Kinect games, tops, left all the rest out because I didn't think they were any good). But I'm sure you could make a gigantic list if you included all the Wii/PS2 shovelware exclusives. Was never about list size, just about games I thought were good that deserved a mention. (Yeah, Doritos gets some slack cause it's free (sequel's much better imo, and is also free), but there are other free games as well that I just didn't enjoy as much, so I left them out). I mean, you didn't see me list Bloodforge or Warface or anything, so I wasn't that desperate. :bouncy:

Correct, I did not type them out from memory. I actually have a word doc handy of 360 exclusive recommendations because I hear "lol all the 360 had was halo n gears" or "hey i got a 360 but i dont know what to get for it other than halo" all the time (the former specifically from Sony fanboys) so to save myself the trouble of making a list from memory every time, I made a word doc because nobody else seems to have made a list I could reference. I have done the same thing with the 3DS, the Vita and the Wii U (though those lists are more a checklist of what I'd like to buy) and I have a few images of good Wii/PS3 exclusives lists saved (which are much easier to find).

The bolded part is pretty much what I've been trying to say, thank you for hitting the nail on the head.

On a side note, I'm playing Witcher 2 for the first time. The intro was great, I wan't to play as the bad ass guy who kill's everyone on that ship. Where's his game?

I'm kinda confused so far though, lot's of stuff to learn in the tutorial. It's kind of an information overload.

Dragon's Dogma is great. I'm playing it right now. Well, maybe not great, but I love the concept and it manages to be fun despite thousands of minor annoyances I could probably list off the top of my head. I just finished my first playthrough as a Ranger / Assassin. Will be starting NG+ and the expansion content as a fighter.

Obligatory "dis game needs to be on PC" comment here. But seriously it'd look swag at 1080p with a decent framerate.

100% agreed. One of those games I wanted to love (although I've said before - I try to love all games) but just couldn't tolerate.I got my copy at Gamestop for literally $2 and still felt ripped off.

I'd love to see it with some frigging anti-aliasing. I mean, it's a pretty game, but the graphics are pretty seriously underpowered. Mostly, though, I just want a sequel. Well not necessarily a sequel, but something that's essentially in the same vein.

 
Anyone have any Nvidia Inspector settings/tweaks for Far Cry 3?  I'd like to be able to disable DERPth of Field, Motion Blur, and a few other unnecessary eye bleeding effects.  I read one suggestion where if you set PostFX to 'false' in the .ini it may or may not disable some, all, or none of the above.
