I know how you feel, just picked up the slim on release the other day and my 64 gig is already down to 27. And that's all from games I had purchased. No plus titles, haha.

This one time, I went on the Mormons website and requested that they visit a friend/coworker. I wanted a copy of their book. They went to her house, but didn't bring a book. They also kept going to her house every other week for a couple months to try and talk her into Mormonism. She had no idea it was me until I fessed up after she complained about it at work a few times.

Oh I know. My brother used to live in Salt Lake City and would tell me about all the hoops he'd have to jump through just to buy a six pack. Having grown up in Wisconsin, it was really hard on him. But he managed to make it out alive to tell the tale as a warning to the rest of us.

The downloads will pause if you manually put the Vita to sleep. Just leave it sitting and the screen will turn off--it keeps going in that situation. There's a wifi power save setting that is turned on by default that you'll need to disable as well--if you don't, wifi will run slower in general and will shut off if the screen turns off. That's under Settings/Power Settings, or something like that. The language of the text is backwards, but just uncheck the box for whether wifi is in power save mode.

Some people have that problem, I never had. If you do try reversing the setting about keeping the wifi on when it's sleeping.

My understanding was that you needed a special license or some shit that allows you to buy booze (besides your regular ID), and only at liqueur stores run by the state that were small in numbers. And that maybe they only sold shitty 3.2 beer.

But my memory may not work as well after all those baby beers growing up.

There were a lot of great episodes this season, the 3rd episode, the serial killer parody was pitch perfect hilarity. The only one that was a little off was the Logan's Run Parody. Though I do agree, that payday rap was amazing.

Minus the horrendous loading times, Duke Nukem: Forever is not nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be.  Enjoyed it way more than I thought I would.

You need to uncheck that box, and also have the Vita charging, in order for it to download while it's asleep. I've done all my overnight downloads like this.

Mine's checked and always has been but I'm also one of the people that never had the problem which is why I suggested reversing it.

I was considering grabbing it but none of the stores here have it and it isn't available for shipping. The dock would be fine for me. I have the cable next to the TV in the bedroom anyway. I might stop by the local BB to trade a game. I will take a look but don't ever remember seeing it their Video game section.

Thanks, guys! The good news is that I managed to download four games during the night, the bad news is that it's so slow I couldn't download all the ones I had in queue :( But it seems that slow download speeds on a Vita is a common "issue"?

PS. The "elevator music" is getting annoying, lol. Turned off System Music.

No, not at all, I absolutely am on the side believing games are an art form and can be a lot more than we've currently seen. Those games you listed are some of my favorite in recent memory, largely because they attempted to say something deeper than "save the princess". I do know that these types of games are still pretty niche though, and the hipster joke was too easy to pass up. I am very much looking forward to ASM, preachy or not (hopefully not though, I'd prefer not to crap all over another game in a review), and wouldn't have asked to review it if I wasn't very much the sort of person that appreciates the sort of thing it's trying to do.

I can't believe I just made a post defending my hipster title.

Are you playing from a digital copy? I wondered if the load times were as bad as from the disc, but figured it more shitty game programming and not system physical limitations.

The loading times were the final nail in the coffin for me, I got to a part where I died 3-4 times in the same area and the 2 minutes to reload the same area was too much for me.

Unless I've missed something, I didn't find any way to change sliders or anything in PES 2014. They do have about 1000 different difficulty modes though.

I played on Normal and was still scoring 5-6 goals a game. I'd just literally run up to the goal, tap the shoot button, and kick it right in. It was pretty fun for a while, but after every goal, you have to watch the replay. And then watch a replay of the replay. There's literally no fucking way to turn off replays. No, PES, I don't want to save every replay of every fucking goal I've scored.

Also, I find it funny that part of the purpose of this game is to show off how awesome the new FOX engine looks. The game looks like a complete fucking turd. There's absolutely no detail on screen when you're playing. And in the replays, the facial animations and expressions make every player look like they have some advanced form of down syndrome. I hope the team who made the game just didn't know how to utilize the FOX engine that well and this isn't a sign of how shitty MGS5 is going to look. At least Ground Zeroes looked ok, but they literally only had to program 15 minutes of gameplay, so it's hard to use that as a comparison.

I was playing from an installed disk. There were a few times the game tested my patience for certain. If it would have been released in 2006 I think it would have been received a lot better.

No need for a special license or ID of any kind to buy booze. You can buy beer in grocery stores and convenience stores, but it is 3.2 beer, but it's actually 3.2 ABW which is actually about 4% ABV, which is only about 1%-1.5% off what most your guy's store beers are. So it's still weaker but not by as much as it's made out to be.

To get any sort of hard liquor, higher point beer, or even girly drinks like wine coolers and malt beverages you have to go to a liquor store. There are a couple dozen across the valley but it's a pain compared to buying that sort of stuff at Costco or grocery stores. The latest they stay open is 10pm and a lot of them close at 7pm. All of them are closed on Sundays and holidays. Also sucks that prices aren't usually great because it's state-run with no competition. You also can't buy beer in grocery or convenience stores after midnight, they lock everything up.

OK. I thought I remembered it being a lot more tricky to buy. Maybe it was the hassle of trying to bring beer in from out of state? Don't they treat that like customs agents or something?

Utah liquor laws are actually somewhat similar to the ones here in Minnesota. We don't have the Steal Curtain of Decency in restaurants, but all beer in grocery stores and gas stations is 3.2 here. And all liquor stores are closed all day Sunday. The people and state legislatures are trying to change that, but the liquor stores are fighting very hard against it, so every time it gains steam, it gets shot right back down again. I think the Wisconsin towns on the border are also against it because all the Mud Ducks run to Cheeseland to get their Sunday booze fix. Especially during football season (required Vikings suck quip).

So yeah, can only really buy regular beer/wine in liquor stores that close around 10pm. But at least they're not state run.

 
Ugh. I think I'm sick of Rayman Legends. Not sick of the gameplay or anything, though. Just knowing that I only have one long task left for the plat kills all the motivation for me. I wish I never finished the singleplayer stuff, yet.

Is that blogcast worth listening to for reasons other than knowing what's out this week? How long is each episode?
