Wren, I say you keep going for it... you got the longest needed trophies already. The rest can be pretty much simulated, the cup ones are the most games you have to play and you got them already. Last night I maybe played two hours and almost completed all the MAster League trophies, and the night before I played an hour and got all of the BAL trophies besides Asia. You can do it!
Yeah, I rage deleted the game from the hard drive last night. I cant seem to follow the road map. I thought I was doing what was needed to get some of those trophies and they didnt pop. When they didnt pop when I thought they should I said fuck it. I may try again though because of your nagging. Thanks bro.

I've got a friend who's having terrible back problems too. I believe it's the same issue. He's taking some pretty heavy duty drugs to counter it, not entirely successfully… wait a sec… are you him?!?!?!?!? Oh shit!
No, cant be me. I wouldnt hang out with "people" like you.

Dark Souls is fun...   but it is at the point that I may not play it again.  If I work for an hour on a level, and then die at the end, I will never pick it up again.  I just don't have enough time to redo the same level over and over.  So far I have been ok - the world unlocks a "fast" path to the boss if you do it right...  but I  think this current level does not...  uh oh...

When they didnt pop when I thought they should I said fuck it. I may try again though because of your nagging. Thanks bro.
FYI, the road map sucks on PS3 trophies. There is a forum post with an easier way to achieve the BAL trophies that are pretty simple

For instance, the European BAL and World BAL trophy does not require playing any games and happens quickly.

The South American only requires you to play 5 games, and Asian BAL requires a minnimum of 9 games played.

Master league doesn't need any games played, just a lot of simming. I've probably put in maybe 10 hours so far and I am 60% complete.

I wish I had thought to mention this. You absolutely can't use the guide on PST.org. I was getting so lost and confused, because I would do things it said and not get a trophy or have to start over. Then after reading through the comments in the thread, there's a lot of helpful info and people bashing the guide. Usually the guides over there are awesome, but this is the first time I've seen one that's absolute crap.

Glad to see I'm not the only one that found that guide confusing. I'll have to dig to find these other tips and guides. Thanks for the heads up though.

I thought about writing a guide during my playthrough, but then I realized I'd be writing a guide for a fucking soccer game, and that's the last step I take before I prepare to kill myself.

I've never played a Souls game, but that 19 seconds of Project Beast I just watched has piqued my interest. I know it didn't show much, but still.
What would be a good place to start if I decided to try one? Go back to Demon's, or play either Dark 1 or 2?
If you've had PS+ awhile you probably already have Demon's Souls in your backlog as it was a free game in October I think it was. If not you can get a digital version for $11 from amazon..

Dark Souls 1 is not on PSN so you would have to get a physical copy.

Demon's is its own universe, Dark Souls 1 is set hundreds (or thousands) of years before Dark Souls 2 with only little bits of connective lore so it doesn't matter too much if you play the games out of order. For most people their favorite Souls game is the first Souls game they play as it's all fresh and new so it is hard to make a recommendation where to start. If just going by the cheapest barrier to entry to see whether you like the series, then it would be Demon's Souls. It's probably the shortest of the 3 too.

I had no clue that Hotline Miami 2 had more to it than just being more Hotline Miami:

HOTLINE MIAMI 2: WRONG NUMBER [PlayStation 4] by: (Presented by SCEA) the brutal conclusion to a gruesome saga, Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number follows the escalating level of violence through multiple factions born from the events of the original game. Switch between several distinct characters and factions – each with their own motivations and methods of execution – as story lines intersect and reality slips away into a haze of neon and carnage. Blistering combat, an unmistakable visual style, and a powerfully intense soundtrack that will once again push you to the limit and have you questioning your own thirst for blood.

Your guide for Zero Escape: VLR is pretty good. I got really tired of that one though and at some points wished you just gave the solution instead of explaining how you got the solution. I am likely in the minority on that though.

I tried that first, and was told that giving the solutions was too generic, and that I had to tell how to get there for people who don't just want the answer. I felt like I was in high school all over again and being told to "show my math".

Looks alright. Having to move cursors on screen using a controller doesn't always work great. Plus kind of hard to distinguish foreground/background/mainground in a few instances in the trailer.
How else would you aim where you're going to teleport? Plenty of 2D games have worked well with cursors. You'd probably be able to tell what's foreground and background when you're actually playing it.

Sell. No Achievements™

The Lost Chapters DLC was actually pretty cool, even if the final boss was kind of a wimp. It's worth a playthrough. Get Fable Anniversary.
Yeah was thinking it might make sense to sell it off and pick up Anniversary when it goes cheap since I have 2 waiting as well. Actually I have 3 too...forgot I got it free with GWG.

Yeah, I am pretty sure the person that wrote the guide calls soccer futbol and English is not his/her first language.
the person copy and pasted the previous guide for PES 2013 with a couple of changes. He did not find the quickest ways to achieve the trophies and put them in there, just what was done in the past. it is a lot easier than the guide makes it, it's really dumb as I feel that they put a lot into those guides, and this guy did nothing!

I did one and only one guide. I did one for Ben 10: Omniverse because there was not one and I wanted to give it a shot. After being told that a video guide for collectibles was not good enough on its own, I half assed some text to get it past the guide team. I knew right then it was my first and last guide I was going to do. It wasn't like that game needed a guide anyway except for the collectible guide that I got from someone else with their permission.

What annoys me, is that I had to put so much work into the two guides I've written for that site, and was constantly being told to make things easier, or to dumb things down. I had to keep going back, and adding more detail and methods that were easily reproduced. Then this jackoff gets away with just a copy/paste job, and a few minor changes. The mods don't look twice, and when people call out the guide for being crappy, they get reprimanded and told to write their own.

Ew. I got linked to a trading thread at the bottom of this thread for the Watch Dogs Pre-order DLC. Do people really expected to get $10-15 for 1 mission and 1 outfit that'll be included in the season pass? Are the threads in the trading section usually that awful?
Yeah, I saw that. So, $10 for the code that is included in the box will all PS4 copies. That's got to be a new low in intelligence measuring as the only people who wouldn't already have that are renters. :wall:

Wow, I did not know some of you wrote guides for that site.  Major props to you guys for even trying it.  I am always impressed by the work involved.  Well I was until this PES 2014 guide fiasco.

You're*

The whole working back to where you were thing is what sounds like no fun to me. I hate repeating things over and over. But maybe it's better in practice than on paper.
First off, I recommend playing them in release order - Demon, then Dark 1/2. You don't need to for plot reasons, but it's the best way to appreciate relatively subtle changes in mechanics, etc.

We go over this every month, but here's the basics:

There is no 'repeating things over and over' in D*Souls unless you're absolutely terrible.

Take Demon Souls -- Basically - it's just like most other games -- early on you'll come across a locked door. You make your way around a bit, and a little while later you come to the back of that door and unlock it, opening a permanent short cut. Tons of games in tons of genres do this.

The only reason you'd need to 'do it over and over again' is if you just keep dying because you refuse to learn how to play, or somehow miss every shortcut. Or if you run into an enemy down a path that's impossibly hard, and instead of realizing you can just go down a different path, just keep dying against that high level enemy instead. (pro-tip - if it seems nearly impossible, go a different way).

I think most people hear how hard it is, die early, and then give up. Oh, and you're supposed to die early - the first boss will (almost certainly) kill you in demon souls and that's by design, so you learn the death mechanics of the game.

Now, when you die, you drop your 'souls'. (experience/money). You can go back to your souls on that life and pick them up, or they disappear. This freaks people out. However, you'll quickly learn that losing your collected souls is no big deal -- soon enough you'll be rolling in them. Death is not a big deal. If you die in any platformer, you start the level over... D*Souls actually gives you a chance to double up on experience if you collect your souls again, but instead people act like it's impossible.

The big secret to D*Souls is that they're nowhere near as hard as people make them out to be. Heck, Im playing SMT Nocturne right now, and if you're 2 hours into a dungeon and die, you lose -everything-. Reload your last save, start over. D*Souls is nowhere near that unforgiving. Not even close.

Demon Souls is my game of the gen for last gen. You do need to learn how to play it though, it is pretty easy if you learn to play it, but it will kill you for impatience/carelessness.

Yeah I suck at games because I dont want to SLOWLY backtrack through the same levels over and over again. I loved the atmosphere and lore. I REALLY wanted to like the game. Its just too slow and plodding for me and I didnt want to learn all the stupid white and black shit that affected gameplay as well. I am just more of an action game fan.
I don't know how to put this other than it's clear you didn't spend much time with the game. I don't even know how to say anything other than you're wrong -- if you're constantly playing the same level over and over again, you're doing it wrong. If it's 'slow and plodding', you're doing it wrong. If you got overly worried about world tendency (only in Demon's), you're doing it wrong. Heck, you can run through D*Souls if you want avoiding almost all combat if you so desire.

It sounds like the game is just not for you, which is fine, but the criticisms you're leveling at the game are symptomatic of someone who just didn't 'get it'.

For example, I dislike fighting games and am terrible at them. But I don't go around calling them 'button mashers' (because that's how i end up playing) since I know others are experts and it's anything but button mashing for them. You're really doing D*Souls a disservice along those lines - your criticisms are no more true than me calling a revered fighting game a 'button masher'.
