And as for the steam sale discussion, I'm hoping for something decent. Just switched over to pc from the console peasant life and would love a great steam sale. I have only heard about the greatness of steam sales, hopefully I can live through one :p **fingers crossed**
 
A steam friend just sent me a link to this and I wanted to know if any of you had run into it before? Seems like an incrediby easy way to get games. Once you pick a game you have to do a survey which makes it sound like tremor. Just wanted to ask the stupid question.... is it legit? Already bracing myself for the "Dumbass" replies :D

Very unlikely it's legit. With Tremor it takes long enough to "earn" games that it's believable. This is way too easy, and Wolfenstein (a new release) costs 4 less surveys than Age of Mythology, which makes no sense to me.

According to the article, Steam was offering refunds to the saps who bought Earth 2066. What's the problem?

So don't buy Early access games? Or research or read reviews before throwing your money away to shady developers with no reputation for making quality products? Or don't believe the promises made by developers? Or wait for the final release of a product? If people are willing to pay to beta test products, they deserve what they get. It use to be that companies pay people to beta test things but times have changed.

But no way, it's always someone's else's fault for my poor decisions to spend my money to poor products.

Except that wasn't clarified previously so shouldn't they owe people who bought games in the past that are seemingly abandoned or stuck in eternal development purgatory a refund?

You know why they did that? Because like War Z and Dark Matter it got out to the gaming press and embarrassed them and made them look bad.

Then you have other games like Monsters and Munitions where Valve apparently knew it was DOA enough to pull it from the store but told people 'sorry no refunds' and cited some vague language on the Early Access page.

I'd link you to the post but apparently they've yanked the forums now too. The forum listing page still exists but if you try to go into the threads it won't let you. At least it doesn't work for me.

I'm about ready to take back all the nice things I said about Watch Dogs' depiction of Chicago after hitting the fictional northwest suburb of Pawnee.  The rural mountainous suburb with a thriving logging industry.  You know, a couple miles outside of the city that was built on a prairie swamp. :whistle2:k

The real problem is that when things like this actually make headlines it makes Valve do something but that something amounts to nothing, like this, where they're basically saying "Caveat emptor, muthaf*?#! Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out!"

If ever Valve actually responded to a situation like this by issuing a formal apology and offering a full refund, people might mistake them for an actual retail store.

Well at least the ones that make headlines get buyers their money back. The ones that don't nothing happens except too bad, too sad responses from 'support'.

They are very inconsistent like that. If you have an issue with a game that's not apocalyptic or filled with zombies so no one's paying attention to it, good luck getting the press to cover it so you can try to shame Valve into giving you a refund. Because it seems like that's the only way it happens.

It most likely is the base game, plus all the DLC, in two seperate codes.
The price origionally was $14.99 on best buy as well, but I saw it jumped up to $19.99, so lock it in quick on amazon for $15 if you can.
Also comes with two "Prop" debit cards, with what I assume the steam codes on the back of them. Kind of nicer than the usual "Scratch here etc" type thing.

PSA: This is a physical item, so it will need to be shipped. Great if you have prime, would need another $20.01 if you don't for free shipping.

I believe there was a Payday 2 Humble Bundle package added to Steam within the last week or so. With what Humble has been doing recently it may be a terrible deal, but still probably worth watching.

thats the big thing for me too. I've been using a Hori EX2 pad for a long time now mainly for it's fantastic dpad. Even the redesigned / transforming dpad 360 controlled couldn't compare.

The transforming 360 d-pad was almost as terrible as the original 360 d-pad, so that's not really saying that much. ;P
 
So, my take on the Humble Weekly this week is that the $1-tier's fine (despite plenty of repeats), but the BTA-tier and $9-tier are garbage, and they could have done a lot better.

Sucks because I really want the Premium Edition of Night of the Rabbit.

yeah but people hyped it up as if it was fixing the xbox dpad issues.

I don't think those people had ever experienced a real dpad, like the Saturn controller or EX2

 
Too many repeated games for me, the only game I want is Spirits, I wish Humble put that in the PC and Android 10 Bundle instead of the new Weekly.

It is not a bad bundle, just that I already have the rest of the games. I don't think The Guild II: Renaissance has been bundled, the good thing is that they included the whole collection in the $1 tier, then again Renaissance is the only game you want since it contains most of the maps from the previous versions.

My thoughts on Trials Fusion is that I don't like it as much as the previous game... I'm having a hard time figuring out why. Well, minus the optimization issues I'm noticing allot more of.
 
I really wish Enemy Within would go on a better than 50% off sale.  Folks say it really makes Enemy Unknown better and I've put off playing EU for it because I know I won't go back and replay it once I move on.  But EW refuses to go on a good discount so I just don't play any of it.

Will not work with the 360 adapter. Not sure if Microsoft said this or not, but it has been confirmed by a couple different people that have tried in the comments on one of the reports.

Has Microsoft said yea or nay on whether the PC 360 adapter "Wireless Gaming Receiver" will work with the Xbox One controller?

It's a different wireless technology so don't expect it to ever work with that dongle, though I'm sure it won't be wired only forever.
