Tempted by that Target trick as a way to get a cheaper DS4, but it looks to still be a bit of a pain and not end up that much cheaper. I'd have to do MLB The Show 14 for Vita 3 times just to even out...I'd be okay with spending $21 on the DS4, but I can't see them letting me do it three times.

The closest Target, Best Buy, Gamestop or anything to me is over 20 miles away. Like you guys say, if I was a few miles away, I'd go for it. Just isn't worth my time and gas in my situation though.

I also would not cry if I ended up not being able to rip off the store either.

 
The only reason I'd rank Gears lower than the others is because it's so focused on multiplayer. The story and concept are cool, and I wish they spent more time to really expand it and made it the focus in at least one of the games.

 
The only Gears I played was 1, and I loved it. That was back before my 360 was stolen. That sucked really bad, but it did lead up me to buying a PS3.

I guess it doesn't matter as long as I can get Darkstalkers. The screen is very nice and that great D-pad will make Chaos Tower a lot more fun than it was on the PSP. Still, it's a little disappointing so far. Sony wrote a check its butt can't cash with this thing. The 3DS is more humble technologically but it's also more fun to use, and when it's capable of something like Kid Icarus the tech gap doesn't seem that wide.

Also, I think the browser is fine. I heard horror stories but it's the best I've used on a portable game system. That's the only part of the Vita that's exceeded my expectations.

The 3DS has an SD card but it doesn't matter if you can copy stuff to your PC because the games are tied to the hardware anyway. The Vita's connection thing is annoying but you can do it wirelessly now, set it up once and be done. Yeah programs run in the background on the Vita because it can multi-task unlike the 3DS. If you want to get rid of something just swipe it away or hold down the circle button. Mortal Kombat looks better than any game on the 3DS so not sure why you are complaining, sounds like you just want to complain about the Vita. Jaggies are abound on the 3DS XL, I know because I have one. The resolution on it sucks donkey nuts.

Kid Icarus has an awful control scheme for a handheld game, so bad it included a stand, how is that more fun\humble? It doesn't look as good as Mortal Kombat so now you are just making up stuff.

Go play your 3DS, you aren't worthy of the awesomeness of the Vita.

Man I just don't have the time or patience for stuff like that. If there was a game I really wanted for cheap I may give it a shot. But I always have the worst luck with employees anyway. Get them to price match another website THEN give me the $15 off credit? Sounds like it would take 30 mins before they figured out how to even do that and if it's allowed.

When I did it, it took a total of about 5 minutes. Went to electronics and asked for the games I wanted and grabbed a reso card for each game. Told them I wanted to pricematch and they walked the games up to guest services. The guest service rep pulled them up on their ipad and adjusted the price. After that, they scanned the reservation cards and i paid and left.

Nice. Took me 45 minutes to trade in 3 games a few weeks ago when they were running triple trade-in value. After waiting that 45 mins I was informed I could only trade them in towards electronics purchases that I was making right then. So yeah, fuck that.

It's an awesome game with a lot of great extras for beating it, like new campaigns and challenges. Some of the collectibles are really hard to get.

Yeah even when I was flipping like a mad man I hated any time I had to deal with employees. It should take 5 minutes but it never does.

 
Sweet, so I was playing GTA Online, and the game froze. Now when I try to get back on, it tells me it can't load my save from the Rockstar servers. Yaaaaaay.

So now, apparently I have to wait about 4 hours to play online again.

Just beat Puppeteer and was really impressed.  Now that I've experienced it, I don't care so much that I bought the game a few weeks before it was announced as a freebie.  If anything, I'm a little ashamed I only spent $10 on it; this game definitely deserved to do better.

I guess Utah has some similar pawn laws that we have in Florida. I had to buy something as well. I went ahead and got PSN credit and the new Gold headset since I wanted them anyway. BTW, I find the new Gold headset much better than the first edition pulse headset I had even though many peoepl stated they were similar. The sound quality to me is much better with the Gold.

I was impressed when I played it the other day too. Will get back to it once my daughter wants to see it again.

Which is funny since I let her play Sleeping Dogs last year (just the guy running around, not an in game mission) and she keeps asking when she can play that again! She doesnt want to play kids games, she just wants to run around in Sleeping Dogs. My wife is still pissed off at that one. I had to delete the game from the hard drive so my daughter wouldnt find it and play it on her own.

As far as I know we don't have too many weird pawn laws like FL does, but maybe we do. At BB and GS I can trade in with no issues.

I could have bought PSN credit but I had like $50 already and I didn't think to just do a buy and return because I was already mad from them wasting so much of my time already.

No Stonch, I'm not trolling to get you guys riled up. Too many forums to do that type of shit and I like you folk, so that's not happening.

To be clear (since I somehow need to clarify this), no, Uncharted 3 is not terrible. It is thoroughly mediocre and highly disappointing, but it is not bad on a whole. "Balls" is because it's the easiest way to summarize the hyperbole in the short time window I had to post in.

But to TL;DR (and this will still be too long, guaranteed) what I've said in the past about what made Uncharted 3 particularly meh and at times, thoughtless and poorly put together:

- The story is dreadful. At some points it's a retread of Uncharted 2. At others, it's the extremely loose string tying together all the 'splosions and set pieces. Worst was when it just felt like a slap in the face to longtime Uncharted fans, like when Marlowe has a particular discussion with Drake in the middle of the game and then drops that plot point entirely. Seriously? You're going to throw that bone at me and then take it away in a matter of seconds? Awful.

- The villains were poorly handled, having the same boring megalomaniac personalities without the rogue charm that the first game's villains had or the sheer brutality in Uncharted 2. They had to be taken out in

a) a stupid cutscene that feels contrived

b) a QTE boss fight

c) standing in a completely idiotic spot and somehow getting shot

- Chloe and Cutter disappear (I know the reasons why) and it feels slightly jarring.

- Cinematic walking and the desert scene are the scourge of gaming. It makes a second playthrough seem more awful.

- The desert scene has absolutely no weight when Drake goes back to his swashbuckling feats of killing and climbing all over the place a few minutes later.

- Just to drill this in, the desert rescue and basically the reasons Nate even arrives in the places he does in this game are so, so contrived and overly lucky. I'm not asking for a great story (this is video games) or acting like other games don't do this, but it's just so bizarre at points.

- The gunplay isn't as good as the second with the aiming being off at the beginning

- The chase sequences and the running away from X object parts are boring

- The whole pirate ship sequence felt like filler. I actually enjoyed the ship (grave)yard as a gaming section (and this is what matters most), but it really didn't surprise anyone.

- I hate, hate, the new melee system. So much. Why change what wasn't broken and was actually fun.

I won't go on too much. Basically the gameplay wasn't as fun, the enemies popped out randomly to fill space instead of make for fun encounters more often than not, and the story was really poorly done and an afterthought to the set pieces (as Amy Hennig said).

It's a mostly mediocre game, but it does have its good points. Some sequences like the ship yard were some of my favorite sections in the series. The second chapter is really awesome (despite cinematic walking being there). The graphics are great for the console its on and then some. I'd probably give it a 6/10 overall.

Different companies interpret the laws differently too though and it might have to do with the type of retail business. Best Buy used to have some dumb policies about trading where the store near me wouldnt allow trade ins but others in the area would and it all had to do with the county or city having different rules and how the stores or corporate interpreted them.

 
My problem with Uncharted 3 (I quit only after a few chapters) was that the villains felt totally generic, and over populated (why would she have an army?)

Also the game totally ignores all that has come before. Nate should be way more cocky about the enemies he's facing, or bitter and haunted over all the killing he's done. Instead it just resets Nate to the first game.

 
wow and now trying to get the plant 5 bombs in obliteration. I can maybe get a game or two before it hard freezes. Hoping it is only this bad on obliteration, because I need to get to rank 25/handgun trophies, but i just don't know. Anyone who has played this think a delete reinstall would help or just buggy game. bf4 ps3 version. peace all

I hope you picked up that free handgun unlock they had on the store a few months ago. Or else you'll have to unlock the gun you need, and that takes forever because get handgun kills sucks.

I don't like how ND tried to advertise the game as having Nate and Sully contemplative over what's going to happen to them if they keep going on these adventures and then drop it suddenly mid-story. The story really nagged me because it lost the care-free nature of the past two while adding stuff that didn't stick at all.

Same thing happened with Titanfall. At the beginning betas were going for over $100. By the 2nd day they were down to about $10.

 
the one thing I'm interested inabout tlou is the idea that killing should be avoided (if just for resource reasons) and seems to be taken a bit more seriously. maybe I have the wrong impression about that game though.
 
Do you guys think my soon to be 4 year old would have problems playing co-op in R&C All 4 One? The only games he's ever put serious time in on are Disney Infinity and LEGO Batman 2. He's pretty good at climbing the buildings to find gold bricks and such in Batman. He's never played the levels, just free roam stuff.

my son played that with me when he was four. Sounds like he will do fine. Not saying my son was a huge help but he did have fun following me around. You may need to give him some help here and there.

I am still amazed how many of you guys take video game stories seriously.   If I am entertained I just dont care if I kill a thousand "bad guys" and the character I am controlling is supposed to have bad feelings about it.  I know that its a video game for my enjoyment and if all I did was sneak around not killing people I would be VERY bored.
