Personally I hate that damned GOG shit where oh this game is 60% off, too bad you don't want to buy it and a ton of other crap you don't want so you can get it for 75% off.

Hmmm - given how Bethedsa does business, maybe Bethesda should sign a deal w/ GOG then.... ;)

EDIT:

I skipped some of the deals on GOG b/c of "You needed to buy The Big Bundle for better percent off."

I mainly went after a few of their flash deals.

Plus, Steam only got 9 main deals + then 4 Flash deals. They basically took 4 main deals away!

GOG caved to steam. All of gog's titles are migrating to steam and will either be bundled ( see all the games published by Night Dive) or sold dirt cheap on Steam. GOG without their exclusives they get for 6 months from stealing pirates work to make games work on modern systems and CD Projeckt Red getting money for in game boobs...id imagine theyd be like Get Games Go and on peoples radar once every 9 months.

There was a similar deal where you could buy 2 games for 50% off (or maybe 75% off/BOGO, can't remember) on the Namco Bandai store, and Naruto was one of the games that qualified. Could buy 2 Narutos and split it with someone, which made it the same price as the current steam deal.. so it's technically been the same price before, just with more effort and without being able to use gaben bux to buy it.

If you like Naruto, the game is great. I didn't play PC version, but it can't be that bad with mods. A lot of people complaining about the fps in the forums.

It's not a requirement that you have to have ten years on Steam to post here, or that you had to have followed this thread through the past eleven versions. Everyone here was new on Steam once, everyone here was new to CAG once, it doesn't do any good to be so territorial and mean about it.

True, and without the card. At current rate I can probably sell the card I get for ~0.30. It will wipe my current gabenbux stash, but can't horde that forever.

I do really like Naruto (although the manga is starting to get a bit weird for my taste) and I don't really think 30fps is a killer, it'll make it more accurate to the anime's style.

Yeah, I saw that and was annoyed earlier. I guess they figure enough people have their base game from bundles so they wanna milk the DLC and soundtrack for all they're worth.

Thanks for the heads-up on Naruto btw. I'm guessing that applies to stores with a Russian storefront as well? Or is it just for copies purchased off Steam?

If so, 75% off is the best we're gonna get aside from a MSRP decrease, so I guess I'll take the plunge.

 
Well I figured I was going to get a summer sale card when I bought Naruto, it said I was going to get one on the checkout page, but Steam never gave it to me.  Anyone else have issues like this for this sale?  Have an e-mail to steam support, but not exactly optimistic.  There goes 40-50 gaben cents...

Just wait it out, cards tend to be delayed sometimes. You'll probably get it within 8 hours.

Steam should look into an Insomnia type sale sometime, that was pretty fun this Spring (the first one I was involved in) though the lack of sleep wasn't as fun. It (along with quick flash sales) makes business sense too, get people buying because it is limited time only, plus less time to research and avoid terrible purchases.

I remember GOG being well, as in the title, the place to get old games. If you wanted something new(er) you'd hit up Steam for some great sales and would pay the extra at GOG for the older games you couldn't get on Steam (To me I looked at the extra being due to a niche market).

Of course now Steam will allow anyone with some money to dump tons of older titles on Steam, and pretend they are "new," and GOG has seemed to get more involved in the indie scene then just carrying old games.

To argue...a bit suppose it isn't a surprised the first day or first few days will be at best meh, Steam knows people will be coming back every few hours and don't need to wow people right away. Instead of splunking their load, with people spending their planned money and getting out, they can keep people around and hope they overspend on stuff they didn't really want or didn't know about it. Plus can get the newbs to overspend on non-daily deals to milk some cash before throwing it up on sale

Not that I agree or like it, and hell that might even be total b.s.. I'm just loaded full of caffeine and over-thinking everything right now.

Thanks, about what I figured. Wasn't sure if it was widespread or not since I got my first card from spending $10+ right away, and haven't had this issue in the last few sales.

 
Naruto is actually pretty good. And I say this as someone who doesn't know squat about the Anime or manga and usually sucks at fighting games.

You can play it just like a fighter if you want, but there's also a huge ass campaign with sort of RPG/adventure elements where you're running around villages and such talking to people etc. If you're into story it's got a ton of cut scenes with a pretty intricate plot.

People who are actually good at fighting games won't need this but I also appreciate the practice mode where you can setup matches against various enemies and turn the AI or on off. It really helped a ton for me to be able to practice getting various moves down without getting my ass handed to me. Then I took that practice and applied it to the campaign.

looking at FarCry3 and Blood Dragon. I really would like to spend the least possible (ave about $10 from selling cards). Any opinions? I think FC3 will have a price drop someday... maybe soon, and I'm waiting for maybe Borderlands 2 GOTY at 75%

Buy Blood Dragon, skip FC3. Blood Dragon gives you what you need for cheaper and a smaller does. FC3 just goes on and on and gets repetitive fast.

WTH. Does the download include all available tables and you only get to play them with an unlock once you buy them??? I didn't expect a free pinball game to take so long to download and my connection is respectable. I'm sticking with it for a penny though because I am just that cheap but the tables better be completely awesome.

 
If there are any shmup fans just want to toss out a good word for Crimzon Clover World Ignition, http://store.steampowered.com/app/285440/.  It's a paltry 30% off, but it's a new release and still only $7 has cards and is hands down the best shmup I've played on Steam.  By Steam standards not a great deal but as a routine importer of these types of games, $7 is a steal (my shmup habit would have long ago caused me to turn in my cag card).  One thing to note, this is also probably one of the most challenging shmups I've played.  I haven't tried Novice mode yet, but Arcade is just unflinchingly brutal, from what I've read Novice is a bit less obscene.  Still for quality bullet-hell games I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality and presentation and encourage any fans of the genre to give it a look.

Yes, that's exactly what it does. The pinball games let you try every table before you buy them...in an attempt to actually get you to buy them.
