GOG Deals Thread

One of the things I like about Steam is that you can still see all your games without having to have them downloaded.
Not trying to convince you to ditch Steam, but you can see all your games on GOG without downloading them. They show up on your virtual shelf and you get to see all the pretty box art. That nostalgia factor is a plus for me because you're certainly not going to see that many PC games on any store shelves anymore.

OK, I'll bite. WHAT AMAZON COUPON GLITCH?!?!?!?!
If you had a 25% off online coupon for Betty Crocker cake mix it accidentally applied 97% off of Borderlands: The Presequel and you got a chocolate cake mix for free.

[customspoiler=.]Though I'm guessing sun means the fact that the Saints Row credit was still active which brought the Steam-matched SRIV price down to purchaseable levels. Or he means something else.[/customspoiler]

I think I asked this before, but has anybody here played Omikron?
Wait, Quantic Dream made a game BEFORE Fahrenheit (Indigo Prophecy)? Why did no one tell me this?

(On a related note: GOG has Fahrenheit on sale? And here I thought I was done buying games. *sigh*)

yep, free is a price Count Burgula never passes up. :D

Amazon rocks with no rep to fix mistakes and letting you convert porn searches into amazon funny money.

Omerta was one of the games that appeared on the Google Docs list even though it hadn't been a flash deal. It's possible that some of those other games (which haven't been flash deals but appeared on the list) might show up as freebies as well. If so, these are the possible contenders.

Alan Wake American Nightmare

Banished

Outlast: Whistleblower DLC (this makes no sense, but it's on the list, so I'll mention it)

Still Life 2

Torchlight
Torchlight just showed up in the preview block...

Thanks! This is live until 9AM PDT (16:00 GMT).

To easily find it and search for other free deals, just CTRL-F search the front page for "free"

<grumbles about overpriced Japanese DLC> :mrgreen:

Crap @ missing FREE Omerta.

Oh well.

Yep - Omikron was the game before Fahrenheit.

I have it - but barely have played it.

Well, crap, now I need to buy it. Hope it shows up again in the sale. I've really enjoyed all of the other Quantic Dream games - although Indigo Prophecy probably remains the one I enjoyed the most.

I just bought Fahrenheit.

Sure, I have Indigo (censored USA version, rated M) on multiple-CD's from retail, but for $1.49 - why not?

Now I have Fahenheit from GOG uncensored (AO Version)and can throw it on my external HDD; burn files maybe to one DVD; and plus now I got some GOG extra goodies to go along w/ it.

Sweet.

EDIT:

Updated my GOG Summer Sale 2014 Haul:

It's been at its flash sale price before multiple times on both GOG (prior to the summer sale, I mean) and GMG, so even if, by some weird twist of fate, it manages to not show up again (or you just keep missing it), it'll come back around eventually.

I do want to try it, but I'd really like to hear some CAG testimonials before I go in at a price it's been several times before. Without more incentive to play it soon, I feel like it'll get cheaper before I ever get around to it.

List it in the cesspool for $1.99. Isn't that what everyone else does?
Reminds me of how within minutes of the Can't Stop Smiling pack going off the deep sale people were flipping it at a significant markup.

And by people, I mean Bobbytastic.

I decided to pick up that pack after initially deciding not to and ended up looking in the trade thread; he was hardly the only one here on CAG. And it was worse on Steamtrades. Had more luck on dispenser.tf.

I know. I'm just giving him crap. There were plenty of other, err, entrepreneurs.

I'm kicking myself that I didn't buy 10 copies of that bundle. I wouldn't even have marked it up. It would have been a great way to convert GabeN bux into real money.

Well if it helps at all I hate activation limit DRM so much that I agree with MysterD about Riddick and bought it on a previous sale from GOG.

Once in a blue moon I will buy from there, but I need a really compelling reason to. Or a Steam key like Race for the Sun gave me for my GOG purchase. :p

*Edited to clarify: I'm not trying to convince anyone. Buy what you want. I just always feel like I need to constantly justify wanting my games on Steam to the 'Just add a shortcut' crowd because for me it's a bit more complicated than that and I don't think they get that for some of us attaching a game to your Steam client on one computer is not the same thing as attaching it to your Steam account on their servers.
Curious - do you have Riddick: Dark Athena on Steam?

If "yes"...

Since you have it on GOG - I'm wondering...

If you could rename the Steam-version's EXE (save it as back-up, just in case);

just plaster the GOG-version's EXE right into the Steam-version's folder;

hope the game works;

and if it does, you'd never have to worry about the crappy Tages DRM again in Steam-version. ;)

I refused to buy it on Steam because of that crappy DRM. I'm sure you could just drag and drop the GOG version over it but Ain't Nobody Got Time (or Money) For That and if I even needed to redownload it again I'd have to jump through those hoops again because Atari is too lazy and bankrupt to take the DRM out of that old ass game on Steam. PASS.

Fair enough @ too much work for some to go through all of what I suggested.

Yeah, Atari should've took the Tages DRM out in the Steam-version, especially since GOG ain't got it.

Plus - like you said, it's an "old ass game."

Yeesh, I hope they don't do Banished at 3AM.

EDIT: I don't know why I didn't notice this before, but the banner at the top of the GOG homepage says "4 SECRET FLASH-GIVEAWAYS". We've already had 3 of the 4. Yet there where 6 items on the list of contenders. Two items on that list aren't being given away today.
