MLB14 for Vita is on sale for $20 at Best Buy this week. $20 after GCU. I locked it in for $19.22 at Amazon, and current Best Buy base is $20. Just a heads up for anyone who's interested in it for a quick plat and small profit.
I wouldn't exactly call it a quick plat. There are too many things you have zero control over to guarantee certain trophies. Not to mention I couldn't imagine anyone just playing a game like that for a week.

I never played syphon filter. I was reading there are some glitches where you can't use both of the Vita analog sticks at the same time, you can either Map the left for movement, or right for strafing, but not at the same time without having issues. Is that still true? That would kill it for me, I don't like gong back to the old "pre twin stick" control schemes.

By default strafing is assigned to L2 and R2. Does the Vita even allow you to map shoulder buttons to an analog stick?

You know I think people don't know hard sometimes. One hit kills...oh man I replayed so many bosses and never beat the game. Rented it twice many moons ago though. Great game and full of character.....I loved platformers so much as a kid. Couldn't get enough of them.
Battletoads SPEEDERBIKES :twoguns:

You load all of the trophy players into one team, max their stats, drop opposing stats, do exhibitions for their trophies. That gets you most of them in a couple hours on PS3/4 and should work on vita too.

Let's just talk about old games to see what breakfuss thinks aren't real games.

My first suggestion is Boogerman.
Come on man this is too much. I never played Grim Fandango yet I know about it! First Dig Dug and now this? Are you sure you arent 12?
Believe it or not, I not only know what Boogerman is but own it on Genesis! Along with other obscure things like Bubsy (uggh...) and the 7-Up game (yes, there was a game based on the 7-Up mascot). So it's not like my head was buried completely in sand. I was just mostly focused on consoles. Still am to a degree. Only thing I ever played on PC back then was Flight Simulator, Myst and Carmen Sandiego. But I'm more than happy to learn about what I missed out on. TellTale really opened my eyes to how fun point-and-clicks can be so Grim Fandango is definitely something I look forward to. I know they're not behind the remaster, just speaking generally. I'm not 12, lol.

Hahaa, that's exactly what I said and dude above called me a troll. I know I'm not crazy for thinking half this stuff has been free and the others locked away in a dusty museum. Ehh whatever.
Breakfuss I thought we knew each other well enough for me to make a joke comment. I don't think you're a troll. Anyway... Has the outlast DLC ever been on sale?

Well, I can't tell anymore with people since the thread split. My bad. I'm not sure on the Outlast DLC since I never bothered to download it.

Just Platinum'd Infamous 2.  My second platinum ever since buying a PS3 at launch.

The evil ending was....well, it made me unhappy.

That 7-up game Cool Spot was surprisingly good for a corporate tie in.

My wife was Cool Spot for Halloween that year.

I probably should get around to wasting some money on the Flash sale.

I guess I'll pick Harvest Moon?

I wouldn't consider Bubsy or Cool Spot obscure in the least.
Ok. I'm sorry. 'Relatively' obscure? I've seen people claim they never played or heard of either. I certainly don't know anyone who owns them. And honestly I wouldn't recommend Bubsy to my worst enemy.

Ok, so let's see. I bet you guys have never played that Ronald McDonald game on Genesis and SNES. So freaking weird but I kept on playing. God, no wonder I'm so I'm cynical now.

@AoA Yes, the 7-up game is surprisingly competent. I remember enjoying it a lot. Not sure how a costume would work but I'll take your word.

You just mentioned getting a PS4 if I'm not mistaken. Well, Second Son's platinum will be laughably easy to you if you were willing to subject yourself to Infamous 2's. I couldn't be bothered to play the first two more than once and even I did with SS.

I could see some people not having heard of Cool Spot but Bubsy is and has been practically infamous in notoriety for being a crappy game. That McD's game however is actually an extremely solid platformer and definitely one of the best on the system.

@wrencrest Cool Spot was fun and I'ma let it finish, BUT TJ & EARL WAS THE BEST GENESIS GAME EVER

Cool Spot and Bubsy are definitely not the same level as Dig Dug but they were also not obscure games in the 16 bit era.

Also I dont know if this is the game you are refering to Breakfuss, but I remember playing the shit out of this game and loving it.  I rented it from Blockbuster and didnt return it for weeks because I kept playing it.  My mom was pissed when she had to pay all those late fees.  We probably paid MSRP to rent it.

I liked your post just so I could unlike it. DISLIKE!

The costume was a giant red circle in front and back that covered her head to knees that and she wore sunglasses and gloves and whatnot. Everyone thought she was an M&M. Philistines!

I thought Infamous 2's was easy and obviously with only two platinums, I don't use the term easy platinum much. I have to finish leveling up all my weapons to 6 on R&C:The New One and then I can play my BRAND NEW Second Son ($40 at BB)

I would totally support some kind of fully legal MAME emulation on the PS4.  It must be easy to do. They have stand alone Genesis games and collections and Atari, Activision and Namco arcade collections.

They charge too much.  I would easily pay a buck for classic Dig Dug or Atari 2600 Combat or Pengo.  They'll never do it a la carte or cheap but I would give them so much money.

@Wren I have no idea what the hell you just posted but that is definitely NOT the game I am talking about hahaha. This game had Ronald McDonald as the playable character and if I'm not mistaken you traveled in time/space or something. Really weird but as @Cainiac it was pretty solid. I actually beat it.

@Caniac Fair enough. I guess among the gaming crowd Bubsy is fairly well known for its shittiness but none of my friends ever played it. Filthy, stinking casuals. I'll search the deep recesses of my gaming memory and eventually find something you've not heard of though.

@AoA It's not that I found Infamous 1/2 "difficult", just extremely tedious. There was no way I could have stomached playing them again or searching for those damned shards. I know there is a workaround in 2 that allows you to easily collect them. Second Son's traversal is just sooo much better and the powers are unique enough that it didn't feel like a drag. Plus the game is pretty and bright which might not seem like a big deal but helped and keeping me awake as I cleaned out the districts.

Shame people feel they can't post freely about games in here. The man will not keep me down, though!

Is that Worms game worth a buck?

I got a bunch of other stuff, my friend got it, and I figure we may play together a bit, but if it's shit, it's shit.

I beat the main 16 levels and the 16 ghost levels in the mirror. Those secret V-land/C-land seems to be too much of a pain for me to get them all, not a trophy hunter anyways.

The moon pad or whatever didn't appear although the walkthrough said they should after the main 16 levels. So....I guess there is it for this game? I didn't even get a cut scene or anything.

Most definitely if you want more Worms. If you never played Worms and like turn based strategy and don't mind a lot of silliness then yeah I'd say it's worth trying. Especially if you have people to play with though there are enough single player levels that I wouldn't advise against it since it's only a buck.

You need to get all of the small diamond collectibles in the main 16 levels to unlock the 4 space levels. After you beat those, the credits roll (for the first time).

Alright PSN thread, as a PSN newbie, I have a favour to ask of you.

I've got $10 of PSN credit right now just for this flash sale, which seems to be enough for half the flash sale items, so help me decide what to spend it on.

The only games from this sale I own are:

Worms Revolution (PC)

Thomas Was Alone (PC + own it under my expired PS+ membership)

Papo & Yo (PC)

The Cave (360, PC)

Tekken 2 (Physical PS1 disc)

Velocity Ultra (PC)

Toejam & Earl (PC)

DYAD (PC)

VF2 (360)

Aside from that, I've never owned nor played any of the games in this flash sale before, though I'm not opposed to double-dipping depending on the extra benefits to having it on PSN.

I've never bought anything non-PS+ related on the PSN store before, so I don't really know what's prime to go cheap again and what isn't, and what's crossbuy, etc. Any suggestions/recommendations would be helpful. Thanks much.

If you haven't played the old PSX rpgs that are on sale, get them. Wild Arms and Wild Arms 2 are fantastic old games, Legend of Dragoon is worth at least twice what they're asking...

Also the dino crisis games aren't bad if you like dinosaurs and survival horror/action games.

Cool, that's a good start. Thanks. Anyone else care to weigh in? There's a few games I've never heard of or know nothing about like Machinarium, Malicious, Twisted Metal Black, the Harvest Moon game and the Syphon Filter series.

I picked up Syphon Filter 1-3 and Dino Crisis 1&2. I figured for .99 cents why not, liking they are playable on Vita too.

I went back and played the 3DS demo of Castlevania Mirror of Fate, think I might have given the game a bum rap the first time around. Finished the demo and ordered it (3ds) at estarland since I had some left over credit. Kind of a shame it's not on Vita.

Machinarium is an adorable litlte point and click puzzle adventure game. The harvest moon game is considered one of the classics of the series (though I haven't played it).

Not sure about the rest.

Yeah, Squirrel just told me about Machinarium. It looks worth $1, but there's a PC version available and it's been cheap/bundled multiple times so I might just stick with that unless I have leftover credit from the thread's recommendations.

Also, it's not cross-buy which is lame.

Dammmmnn i did NOT know the ps1 classics were cross buy! I wasnt gonna get wild arms 1 and 2 cuz i own them on ps1... buttt i will be getting a slim vita around xmas this year ans would love some portable wild arms! My favorite rpg of all time.

Infamous 2 plat was pretty easy, actually, since collectibles show up on the minimap AND you could do user created missions that teleported you to collectibles and/or let you boost everything else.

Infamous 1 plat was atrocious due to some extremely hard to find collectibles.
