Enemy health regen isn't significant, but it has kept me from getting a second on several occasions. I ran with a DT build for a little while as I enjoy toying with the synergies of the skills and whatnot. Ultimately, I still found myself only using it as a distraction and felt it did a good enough job for me at that with no points invested, so back to LBT I went. Personal preference. I'm currently running this build with the hopes of finally getting a Black Hole shield. Except that Foreman Rusty is being a stingy dick. I have to be upwards of 200 kills and no dice.
Stripping my build to the core, it looks like:

http://www.bl2skills.com/mechromancer.html#510053100551500000000000413050151050

I'm regularly tweaking it around the edges. I also like With Claws for a bit of situational healing. I'm usually running with an inflammable flame of the firehawk so i really like my Sharing is Caring at the bottom of BFF.

I'm really surprised you're not using Make it Sparkle. (I always wanted to like that one, but the having to shoot DT mechanic is hokey... I wish he just did additional elemental of my equipped weapon.)

That's similar to the DT build I ran, minus the Sharing is Caring. I save my FotF shield for Krieg. I actually tried Make It Sparkle in an attempt to skip Interspeed Outburst. I'd slag DT hoping to spread slag to everyone else, but once I switched elements, I always ended inadvertently shooting him again thereby cancelling the slag effect. It was ineffective and frustrating for me. I never ran With Claws for the same reason I've avoided Death From Above, the usage of Anarchy stacks. They seem like interesting skills, so I'll probably mess with them eventually. I'm constantly messing around with my skills. I'm considering taking points out of More Pep or Shock Storm and putting them back into Better Half. I could go on endlessly talking about skills and builds. Is this how MysterD feels about DRM? That's scary.

^_^ Yep. The random hits on DT that wind up changing his elemental ltype, were a pain. ...and that's sometimes after hunting him down to slag him.

I need to play with Death from Above more/again. I remembering it activating a lot of the time when I wasn't expecting it to. With Claws only activates when I melee (rarely accidentally) and heals me =). (I'm also partial to Moxxi's Shotgun/Good Touch/Bad Touch for the heals.)

I really like The Better Half.

Nah, MysterD only wants to remove all DRM (and get the Steam version for free). That's totally different from build tuning.

...now you're making me wish I had WoW-DamageMeter like stats tool. (Which I really pine for in D3.)

Nope - b/c I think there's more WAY depth to spec-out your character-build in an ARPG to talk about how minor or major your differences are from other character build(s) you made; and/or how another player spec'ed out their character(s).

That's much deeper than my thoughts on DRM.

How I feel about DRM is simple....

I don't like DRM + the problems that it can cause gamers (as I've been through some of this garbage myself + have seen/read many of the horror stories of it) - so I would prefer to be given both Steam-versions + DRM-FREE versions.

Why do I want both Steam-version + DRM-FREE versions?

Steam-versions -> Namely for any of Steam's convenience purposes (easy to deal w/ downloads, installs, updates, etc), for gaining Steam Achievements, Steam cards, etc.

I would like a Steam-version to not laced w/ CEG + not laced 3rd party stuff (so that it would essentially double as a DRM-FREE version, in disguise), but I don't always expect that on Steam - especially from AAA's.

DRM-FREE versions -> in case Steam goes under, Steam CEG DRM never gets CEG removed, or any other things that could cause the Steam-version to not work - this is my back-up plan: use the DRM-FREE version.

Where does it say that?

That place where they sourced that info has -no source-. "Taka Kawasaki, studio head at Epic Games Japan, recently discussed excitement for "Tekken 7" in a press release on Monday."

That "press release" they linked to is a Polygon article that does not mention PC as a platform.

That site is full of crap.

Finally they fixed that. I felt fortunate to still have my Definace Free Trial (steam) version installed (to use with my non-steam key).
Oh, cool - F2P + got cards!

I actually do have the files from Steam's version backed-up somewhere, back when they had the Free-Weekend....yet never tried that out! Cool.

I did buy Defiance from Amazon DVG, back when it was dirt-cheap - before it went F2P.

I'm guess b/c it is a MMO w/ a Trion-account forced I'd guess - Trion-version key (Non-Steam) could be used on the Steam-version?

And vice versa?

Yes. I said that before.
IIRC, I remember you said the same worked for TSW, correct?

I'd guess most MMO's that force their own account-system requirement (like Trion, Funcom, etc) that if you have both a Steam-version and Non-Steam version - they'd probably work like this?

Man, this would be great - if ESO ever goes F2P.

The only evidence about it coming to PC is an old Amazon UK listing that has been removed. Hopefully something official will get announced.

I got that press release back on the 14th and it says nothing about PC, except when mentioning that Unreal Engine 4 (on which Tekken 7 is being built) is scalable across PC, mobile, and console platforms.

None of the Tekken 7 art assets or logos have PC on them.

U fukin wot m8? Ill sock ya in the gabber swear on me mum.

Nah, you're right tho. I saw this posted on GAF and jumped the gun. I still think it will come to PC because I want to believe.

All of this Borderlands 2 build talk is a making me want to get back into it again. Dammit, I wish there was more free time. Hmm. I guess the best solution is to just make some time and then I'll naturally create extra time by being sucked back into the glorious grind of BL2. #GamingPsychology

On a semi-related note, does anyone on here navigate the forums using tapatalk. Is it easier to format, quote, and what not on it?

It -might- come to PC. Namco is good at bringing stuff now. If it doesn't get announced at Comic-Con then expect a late port.

Okay this is just so hipster. Or European. (I would say MysterD but ewww cooties indie!)

So, let me see...

Old-school smaller PC box w/ a manual inside; old-school physical manual; ; DRM-FREE game + Steam-key; sound-track on disc; and other CE type of extras (key-ring, poster, paper-craft, stickers, USB-stick, etc).

Very cool.

So I've been playing some Gods Will Be Watching and man this is some tense stuff. It's like a time management game and you get a different scenario in each chapter(ex. being tortured, hostage situation, etc.) and you gotta think about what you'r gonna do before you actually do it. It's a thriller with a pretty good story and awesome pixel art. Only thing bad is that if you play on 'original' mode, its hard as hell but you can change it to easy and its real interesting.

$20 a month doesn't seem like such a bad deal either. Then again, that's a $10 game right? One reason I stayed away from Steam, and really paying for digital content of any sort was the fact that I hated the notion of paying, sometimes a full "retail" price for something that I couldn't even hold in my hands. Now that I'm growing accustomed to Steam and the whole pay very little to get digital content thing, I'm not sure how I feel about this.

I really like the fact that it exists, I just don't see myself shelling out the money for it.

Is it sufficiently different from most point and click adventure games that someone who typically hates the genre might enjoy it. The premise is intriguing as all hell.

Edit: way to random difficulties from steam reviews.

I think the price is way too high. $20 for a game that's going to end up in a $1-$5 bundle in less then a year isn't too appealing to me. I do miss the old school boxes but I think they need to add more value to make it appealing. Maybe include 2-3 games instead of just 1 and try to make sure at least 1 isn't bundle fodder.

I felt the exact same way as you did about Steam originally. I was a collector at heart so I loved having a physical copy of the game and box to add to my collection and I couldn't wrap my head around paying full price for just a digital copy of a game. The whole concept seemed ridiculous to me. What won me over was the crazy sales they had. I think one of my first purchases was a huge Total War collection for only a couple dollars per game. That was a whole hell of a lot better then paying $30-$40 each just to get the boxed copy. After that I started paying a lot more attention to Steam and was willing to accept the trade off of not getting a physical copy in exchange for a dirt cheap price.

Ace Combat's pretty neat. It's a lot simpler than the older ones but worth a try during the free weekend at least. Also if Namco keeps bringing this stuff to PC years after console but still no Tekken or Soulcalibur, I'm going to start flipping over some tables.

Does Steam stop working for some people periodically? I'm trying to load it, from my Desktop, not the Steam website, and it won't open.
Nope, Valve must just hate you, for some reason.

I don't think this has been mentioned yet, but for the Payday series' third anniversary on October 18, a bunch of free junk is gonna be given out, including the original Payday. For anyone who has yet to nab it for $1.50, rejoice! You can save that money for a crappy groupees, or something*.

Italicized for emphasis. The only fighting game I could ever REALLY get into. Actually just played 2 on the Wii the other day (the GC version), when I needed to digitally beat something up.

I wonder how long it will be before the day comes that every newly released game is digital, for computers and consoles and hoojawobbits alike.  Then, and only then, it will be possible to own every video game ever printed in physical form.

And I'll be ready to cash in on my collection of Atari carts.

RE: IndieBox

At first I thought it was pretty silly too, shelling out $15+ for an indie game that's probably been bundled, with a few gimmicky toys/memorabilia but after reading what one of their store reps said in the reddit thread, gave me a better perspective.

We do develop exclusive content for the boxes (including custom toys and the like) and pack it full of awesome stuff. Everything is created 100% exclusive for IndieBox, except for the game.
It's tough competing with Bundles and Holiday sales, so we know we're not for everyone. It's a service for people that really love the tangible part of owning games, not just the endless digital library.
So basically us cheapasses aren't the target audience, but if you want to pay $17 for a random games collectors edition, it's not bad, considering most collectors edition for new console/pc games has a $20+ markup over the regular version.

This looks interesting. Thanks so much for slaving away in the name of charity and free games!
Could I get Nightsky?

While I'm at it, since no one seems to want Dark Scavenger on Desura, I would like a copy.

Thanks!
Either of these please, or both. Whichever.
May I please have Mata Hari?
I'll take The Maw if it is still available. Love that little guy!
both or preferably fortix 2... please and thanks in advance

just beat Payday, here's the final scene

I can confirm that Pixel Hunter sucks.. I tried it out the other day. Gameplay was terrible, no native controller support, sometimes the AI flat out cheats, and at least one of the weapons seemed completely useless. I stopped playing after I got the dynamite (or w/e it was called), because the weapon was so useless that it was embarrassing.

That rating system is al in how you look at it. For instance, you cross your eyes and it sorta looks like there's an 81% of thumbs up and a 19% thumbs down. S'all in how you look at it

More Warframe talk:
Well, I think you said you had the Braton already from the Bundlestars pack, that's a decent starting rifle (the karak and boltor are also nice early options, later on you're going to want a Soma [rank locked]). The Vasto revolvers hit pretty hard at this stage of the game (there are better choices/options as you rank up - Marelok destroys enemies) or if you want something faster you try out the Latos. If you're in a clan you can get some dual decent sub-guns blueprints from the lab (stilettos). Melee wise there's the Orthos and Dual Heat Swords.
I'm pretty sure the sentinels are over 150k to (buy/build) so that's not an option yet, but when you can, grab yourself a carrier, it will really help out.

Edit - Oh, and if you want to get a really ninja-based solo Warframe (complete with smoke-bombs, teleportation back-stabs and mass-kill teleportation attacks a-la Nightcrawler from X-Men), check out Ash. He's one of my favorite solo frames (I say solo because he doesn't really have an group buff type abiliities).
I'd like to try out dual pistols, but they seem like a pain to get. Don't you have to craft two different (or the same) pistols then combine those and buy ANOTHER blueprint? I don't get it.

I was actually looking at Ash. Destiny has stolen my gaming time for now, but I'll probably work towards that Warframe first once the beta ends.

I don't know about you lot, but I've been revisiting Batman: Arkham Asylum for the Playfire achievements. That game is five years old and still better than most of the stuff I've played over the last year.

It's still very, very good. I'm not sure I'm good enough to get that 50p super-duper-combo achievement though.

Posting here as, somehow, unbelievably, some people have still not played Arkham Asylum. I know, I know. :nottalking:

The only game I've played to 100% on more than one platform (Steam & 360; all of the cheevos+challenges). Some of the mechanics are sadly absent from the later entries (the multi-grapple, and throwing during combat removed in favor of "special" takedowns), but Arkham City's/Origin's faster combat makes the combat in Asylum wayyyyyyyy easier to manage. Not sure if you'll have time to cut your teeth on the sequels, but if you ever decide to go back and 100% Asylum it certainly helps.
