I'm not saying rape is right, but here in Seattle they take rape super serious so I have become desensitized to it.  The police man was telling me about a case where a straight A student went and raped a D student and guess what?  Both of their lives got ruined.  The rapee was all traumatized and the raper was put in jail for the rest of her life.  It was a take home rape too where she took him home and raped him.  And don't get me started on rape cases where the raper knew the rapee.  Like how ridiculous is that?  Again, I'm not saying it's right it's just my controversial opinion.

Both were busted for cheating and both got an instant fail in the class.

I've heard lots of stories like that in my school. After a while, you just tend to... ignore all the people who cry wolf. I don't like plagerism and I understand the problems it causes. But I don't plan on grabbing a pitchfork and hunting down someone for doing it, either. Anyway, from now on, I'll just keep my controversial opinions to myself.

Mmm dem boobies are so realistic. The physics are so perfect on them. It's not like she would have to be hurtling forward with every step to get such high levels of centrifugal force that the inertia is only visible towards the nipple and doesn't ripple through the breast like it would in in real life if her sweater puppies were that soft. I'm glad those middle-aged Japanese men have so much experience with tits that they could make them so accurate in this game. And there aren't any pancake nips, either! Truly magnificent craftsmanship.

No no, you don't understand. This is a fantasy game, there are no humans. You're looking at a mysterious race of creatures whose breasts actually breathe, hence they have developed far more than simple human breasts.

Ok its impressions time!

Rex Rocket- half Mega Man, half Metroid. Pretty fun and tough. I like it so far.

Pivvot- Fun little game where u gotta avoid objects and pivot around back and forth alot, it's hard but pretty addicting.

Back to Bed- it looks like a mobile game kinda but cool art style and simple puzzles where u gotta guide a sleepwalking guy back to bed. Its alright.

Road Not Taken- wanted to like it but hate the puzzles. Big nope for me.

Crawl- its meant to be played with other people but I played with bots and it's good but I'm not sure if im hooked on it yet. It's the indie version of Evolve but in a fantasy setting, might get online later down the road. Gonna keep a eye on this one.

The Sun at Night- I'm actually liking this one alot, the quality is in the middle but its got good gameplay and its a solid metroidvania.

See that's my point. It's not about feminism. It's about logic. Well that and in this case far over the top gratuitousness.

Just cause of what some wear at the beach doesn't mean that it doesn't cause the rest of the world to roll their eyes upon seeing that in a video game. Let's be clear "that" in this context means less than the tiniest patch of triangle you would see on the average skimpy bikini at the beach. And forget about suspension of disbelief.

Though I do like the they're another race theory. It would explain a lot.

It's still summer. The kids haven't gone back to school yet. Give it another month or so.

This isn't a local phenomena, either. I'm pretty sure reddit has a countdown going until all the kids go back.

 
So very brief first impressions of Lords of Xulima (pronounced SHOE-lee-MUH apparently) since the Steam key just arrived in my email and it quite unintentionally ended up being my 2,000th game.

You can harvest plants to use but so far I'm not seeing much interactivity with the environment beyond that.
 
There are brief voiced greetings but the vast bulk of the dialog is text and there is a lot of it, which is to be expected for this sort of game. Story so far seems to be a fairly standard save the world sort of deal, though there are mysteries to be solved (ie why did the gods disappear) and lots of sidequests etc.

There's 3 difficulty levels and thankfully even thought they're clearly appealing to the 'In my day we didn't have none of these here fancy AAA graphics and hand holding' crowd they do have a Big Fish Grandma casual difficulty level for people like me with a huge ass backlog and a short attention span that ain't got time fo' challenging combat.
 
The developers are ESL (Spanish) though [customspoiler="I only noticed one typo so far."]

I'd say overall it's likely to appeal to long time fans of CRPGs of old but I don't know that it has enough polish to hold the attention of players who don't have that nostalgia factor to fall back on.
