*pfft* I wish. I have work in the morning. Will you be finishing tonight?

I bought it immediately. You ended the night with 29 perfects? Maybe that's when I'll stop too.I might get the Critical Urgency Pack for the heck of it depending on how quickly I get the plat. This game...it's...

Never even noticed this was released. Instantly thought of Zero Gunner when I saw it.Everybody should buy Under Defeat HD for that price. It's an excellent and basic shmup. Make sure to change the controls in options to dual sticks. The platinum is easy also if that peaks your interest.
Yeah, I guess alternating between sprinting and shooting in the platforming parts is what it still tripping me up. I think I will end up getting into the groove of it thoughyou learn to hold R2 and rake breaks to run with your gun at 45degree angles or hold R2 and press O same time for straight shoot rifle, you get better and better. I just bout beat the game. anyone still up?
You could do what I did with the hubby to get him and play games with meShe likes Wii Sports and House of the Dead Overkill.
What makes her so awesome is that the walls are not adjusted.I'm curious as to the distance between those walls and if that's adjusted to match the height of the contestant. If not that'd be pretty shitty IMO.
it also lacks fun. and gameplay.I didn't realize Don't Starve lacks a plat.
I don't think you did necessarily; I just noticed a few people saying they were getting intrigued and thought I would make the comment to taper people's expectations. As much as I enjoyed it, I wouldn't call it a "great" game as far as production standards are concerned but there's a level of charm to it and most either love it or hate it. If any of you do decide to get it, make sure you get the "bundle" and not the standalone... both are in the store for the same price and the bundle gets you all the extra crap DLC.Yeah, I mentioned a couple times you'd have to get past the wonky controls and bad visuals to enjoy it, and I hope I didn't overshadow those two key points by how much I personally enjoyed it.
That was my assumption, but to be fair they should have so that the reach factor was equivalent no matter the contestant's height. That challenge basically is a big "What makes her so awesome is that the walls are not adjusted.
I'm kind of wondering if I can hang in this game - the overly long levels (3 minutes?) plus the boundries for being perfect actually requiring perfection (i.e. break every bit of glass, pick up every health pack, sprint/boost every possible moment) might be too much. I'm still going to try, but only 15 levels in and I'm already a little intimidated.I was gonna try for the plat (and still may), but I may not have the skill to do those later levels fast and accurate. I have all the bonus levels found and competed and perfects on 1-26, 28, 29, & 48. Tried 27 about 108 or so times before I moved on.
I've never been into shmups all that much, but am considering this one. Bums says it's a no-brainer. I'll probably end up not buying since I already have too much to play though. Is anyone here picking up (or has anyone already picked up) Under Defeat from PSN? It looks somewhat interesting as a shmup, and the $3 price point isn't too objectionable.
You be trippin'. When I got to Level 23 (I think? It's the one with the second boss fight), I spammed the heck out of the right analog stick since it seemed to be faster than using the laser.also, are the bombs a little less awesome now or is it my imagination?
that's kind of what I like about it though - people find ways to make that shit work whether they're 5' and 100 lbs or 6'5 and 220 lbs. some obstacles might cater to certain body types or backgrounds but everyone has the same chance and people figure out ways to make it happen. it's a pretty fun show just the same, I've enjoyed it more than the japanese original. That was my assumption, but to be fair they should have so that the reach factor was equivalent no matter the contestant's height. That challenge basically is a big "YOU" to anybody under a certain height.
Yeah, I think if I had to choose to spend $3 on either Under Defeat or the Critical Urgency Pack for 2X, I'd go with the latter.I've never been into shmups all that much, but am considering this one. Bums says it's a no-brainer. I'll probably end up not buying since I already have too much to play though.
I think I'll probably end up grabbing it after I use the Kongregate coupon at GS on some PSN space bucks. Looked interesting. Is anyone here picking up (or has anyone already picked up) Under Defeat from PSN? It looks somewhat interesting as a shmup, and the $3 price point isn't too objectionable.
I hate you for being able to play at work. I hope that fear gives you nightmares.Time to take a nap at work while my thumbs continue to recharge...
I'm pretty scared of having to get perfects (especially the not dying part) on these levels that take 5 minutes or more
Yeah that's a nice new addition. I also like that you can warp to the entrance of any docking station instantly via the map without having to place a telepod. Was anyone else surprised to discover that you can double-tap Pyramid/Cone to warp to the last-placed Telepod? I don't think that was in Ultra, unless I totally forgot it was.![]()
I bought it because I like schmups and as backlog said, bums gave it a two thumbs up. It looks like an easy plat too because of a "cheat" where you leave the game running while paused. Apparently the more you "play" you get more perks up to unlimited lives or continues. Is anyone here picking up (or has anyone already picked up) Under Defeat from PSN? It looks somewhat interesting as a shmup, and the $3 price point isn't too objectionable.
Yeah those long levels are one of the few knocks I had in my review. I tried to go for the remaining gold medals on critical urgency levels this morning and I think even that may be out of reach for me, let alone getting perfects. I skipped a bunch if crystals and pods and still was 10 seconds shy on one. Hard to see where I can shave off some seconds besides actually perfect perfectness like you said Pete.I'm kind of wondering if I can hang in this game - the overly long levels (3 minutes?) plus the boundries for being perfect actually requiring perfection (i.e. break every bit of glass, pick up every health pack, sprint/boost every possible moment) might be too much. I'm still going to try, but only 15 levels in and I'm already a little intimidated.
still, all upgrades to the game are greatly appreciated. I agree with anyone that says that the out of ship controls are a bit janky or at least ill-concieved but the new graphics/animations/concepts are aces.
also, are the bombs a little less awesome now or is it my imagination?
Just beat the game and the bonus levels, now to start on the perfects...
Cool. Thanks for lowering the % of the trophies on PSNP.5 minute long levels in 2x?
I'm out.
