PSN Off-Topic - Happy Thanksgiving Chumps and Chumpettes!

I am trying to push into the top 50 on the US leader board on PSNProfiles. They are just about the only way I can get there at this point without changing how I play to just getting the easy trophies from games and moving on to the next.

I never really started out playing to move up the leader boards, it just happened as a side effect of all the contests. Since I had a a lot of stuff saved up for the next contest which I decided not to do, I am now using those games to see if I can get to the top 50. Probably a stupid goal, but it is something I want to do.

This way I can keep my completion percentage higher and still make a run at it.
Do you just buy them digitally? Seems to be the easiest way.

Is anyone else surprised that Mr. Trophy Competition, GatorBeerGeek, isn't competing in this one? Yeah, me neither. Maybe if we have a competition on who can platinum Up the fastest.

Yes, all 4 of these I have played recently have been digital. There was a sale on them on the Japanese store that just recently ended that I bought them all from.

That website I mentioned has a lot of people who trade physical games and/or game share digital ones. A friend of mine bought physical copies of a ton of them and has offered to loan a lot of them to me. So I will likely be playing those as well. Just like anything else that is imported into the country, the physical games can get pretty pricey. It is the only way to play the Vita games fro trophies though.

Shit, fell asleep for a bit, back to whuppin some Vohk ass.

Level 30 is harder than Level 50 in the original ever will be.
I must say that even though the comp is a complete disgrace in many ways, a more perfect game could not have been picked than this one. There are so many stumbling blocks in this game to trip people up and keep the competition tight and somewhat drawn out and suspensful. Bravo.

Is there any way in TLoU to see what conversations I've obtained or missed? Chapter select seems to tell me everything but those.
Not a very efficient method, but you could watch a Youtube video of them, write down the ones you don't remember having, and then just go get those? Might be a little easier than a full playthrough, albeit extremely boring.

It shouldn't be a surprise to anyone since for both of the competitions I said I was not interested. The game does not interest me just like the racing game in the first one didn't. I know I am not good at twitch games.

If you wanted some way to feel superior to me you accomplished your goal. I am not sure why you take such offense to the way I spend my gaming time.

From now on can you just play your way, and I will play mine?

It's not my fault you guys got me all competitive and shit. It also didn't help that when I woke up to pee this morning, some girl I'm talking to sent me a couple pictures of her ass.
Post here plz
Due to mad hack skills, I was able to get into his phone and get some of the pictures. I'll post one, and you guys can send me Paypal funds if you want the rest. First leaked photo is under the spoiler.

I can only see the bottom of the pic as I quote this, but I'm still not looking, Stotch, no matter how beautiful an image from Fugly.com might be. :nottalking:

There were none in the first one. Not sure what he is taking about. I would think if there are upgrades in V2, you would lose them when you go back to previous levels.
Not true. In one level, your single-shot laser becomes a dual-shot laser and stays that way until you upgrade to the triple-shot (not the same as the 3-way shot pickup which has limited use) in a later level. If you revisit previous levels, you have the latest laser upgrade equipped. This applies to both Ultra and 2X.

The only upgrade I can think of is the bombs and your ships guns. Nothing to help you speed up or take more damage, etc.

Just got perfect on 30, tried to send you guys the challenge but I was offline. So I went and perfected 37 and sent a few the challenge.

40 is killing me tho... plus I have to make dinner and feed the kids etc now coming home from school and recharge my vita. break time dudes.

but yeah everyone will be 3-4 trophies short soon enough, like I said earlier, the challenge is to perfect all 50, not beat the game...

Blue haired chic just texted me that she needs to work and pay rent so iv got 3sum show tonite or tomorrow. damn chic doesn't know I gotta plat this Velocity game.

It's go time.

Its gonna take u does at least 1 month to get all perfects in 2X, hahahaha nubs. I only got one perfect and that was the first level. There's alot of hidden codex thingys too that u can miss real easy.
I got every codec without trying and the bonus levels were super easy.

In some ways I'm really sad I don't have the time to do this Velocity challenge.  I only have perfects up to 13, but I don't game when my son is awake, and I work out either late night/mornings, so I only have about an hour or two to game (if that).   Not to mention, I'm in the middle of Darangatan (and FF1, and Rainbow Moon, and God of War, etc.).

It's also harder to 'pick up and play' Velocity at the level you need for perfects.   But... the game is so amazingly built to perfect.   I often get 'ocd' urgings to finish games perfectly, but for Velocity it's something more than that.  The game begs for it, it's designed for it.  It's not my sense of completionism driving me to finish the game, but rather the purity of gameplay that is required by the games design -- you're either in zen mode and godding through it, or you're not getting perfects. The only other game that comes to mind that really had the same energy for me is Rayman Origins.

I'm not sure what I think of Darangabonaza.  It's... interesting?  The mysteries are too easy for me.  The case game mechanics are kind of cool... but again a bit too easy.   Social links bore me to death.   I liked VLR because it separated puzzle gameplay (escape the room!) from the plot so the puzzles could just be... whereas if you solve a mystery the case gameplay in dangalanga just becomes 'ok, enough already'.   Though it's certainly more difficult to intertwine plot and puzzles, so points for that, I suppose.   I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who likes P4G and/or the mystery games i've never played (like Layton) that people compared it to.   I just don't know that it's for me, and I wish I didn't bite at $20.

I swear I'll finally beat God of War.  Never have i started and gave up on a game so many times, which makes the beginning chapters all the more boring my sixth or seventh try.

IRL, we just got the neighbor from hell.   Day 2 and they're already calling the city for what they view as code violations rather than just dealing with us directly.   Which is ridiculous given our neighborhood and how friendly everyone is, not to mention we've put more into our house and landscape than most.   But they're clearly mental, breaking into tears over unrelated issues (one sentence about property lines, the next about relatives, asking my wife for hugs).  Crazy land.   We live a pretty stress free life, I feel like we jumped into the Twilight Zone yesterday.

Affa neighbors from hell suck. We have had to deal with bunches of those.

The only problem with doing older games like Vanquish, is that I already have 1 trophy in that, so would I be disqualified or? I know you prob joking, but still.

You perfected all the way up to 40? Shit, I underestimated your skills.

You guys are making me dread playing more 2x tonight.  I will feel pretty shitty if I cant perfect most levels up to at least 30.  fuck you guys.

no way dude im just jumping all over the place

but your underestimating my skills only feeds me to play more

I told blue to find a friend and wait til tom nite, iv got velocity to perfect ;)

yeah let's do vanquish next.
I would do this one. I wanted to play it anyway. Not sure how it would work, like Velo said. Maybe we can do a rule for older games that if you have a really easy couple trophies that pop right away, you can still enter. But if you have the entire story mode done and you're one trophy from plat, then obviously you can't compete.

This sale reminds me that I was only one or two trophies from platting ME2 when I got rid of the disc. Maybe I'll pick up the trilogy and finally do that

The laser upgrade is attained via the power ups though. If you go to previous levels, you can't use it since there are no power ups to grab. Speaking if Ultra of course. I'm not very far in V2, so can't speak with much authority there.
