From the blog post on BoI: "The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth features over 500 hours of gameplay (not marketing fluff, it’ll take you at least this long to unlock all the secrets in the game)."
This sounds more like a negative mark on the game than a reason to buy it. The most time I've ever put into a game was like 150 hours (FO3), and I can't imagine how you can play a game for 500. Sounds like torture.

I've put 400 in the original and still enjoy it. It's all about how deep down the rabbit hole you want to go

The original Isaac took me 92 hours to hundred percent the second time I did it. That's with 250 hours of experience. Rebirth has twice the content. Also Edmund said in a blog post coop won't be required for platinum god
At least he confirmed two things:

1. BoI has a plat like Tyler figured.

2. The plat, while it may take months to get, is attainable alone.

*sigh* Another trailer that should have been called "In-Game Engine Trailer" rather than "Gameplay Trailer", because I sure as heck don't see much actual gameplay there.

Never tried smoking or really alcohol for that matter. I have enough of a problem with self-control with food that I found it best to not even open either of those doors.

Possibly staged but still pretty amusing.

I had them running Drakengard 3 with me. I would have them do 3 boring easy arenas, so that I could do the hard payday arena and then they would have to do 3 more boring ones to unlock the hard one again. I'm like it's dishes, laundry or drakengard3. lol ;) they are the best

I even tried to get my kids and wife to try to help with Velocity 2x, like I would say you just hold boost the whole time or can you tap on screen to teleport, but that was just more clunky than playing normal so I gave up on that. haha

Hey Vig, you played enough of ToX2 to have give any impressions on it?
I've put 8-9 hours in so far, so I don't know if it's too early for me to give impressions, but I can say that if you liked the first ToX, you might like ToX2 even more. Ludger (protagonist) is really fun to use and it's cool to see the cast from ToX1 return.

Does any one know if you will be able to play Destiny without PS+?  Not a concern for me, but a coworker wants to get it, but isn't a plus subscriber.  I hadn't thought about, but I've seen some conflicting stuff in my searches, so wanted to see if anyone knew for sure.

ah, the lone smoker. just like real life.

we quit everytime the lady gets pregnant and always end up crawling back to it. it's only like a 3-4 a day habit, but still a habit. we'll requit if/when we move out to california because nothing is less stressful than getting a new job and moving across the country with a bunch of kids.

You can't play Destiny offline, so...maybe only on PS3?

Cool. I haven't played the original yet of course, just wondering if it's different enough to keep on my buy list. With my limited playtime I'm trying to be more selective, especially with long games, going forward.

Edit: According to HLTB, it looks like ToX2 is closer to 30 hours than 40. Good sign for me.

BTW, how cool is it that your 3,000th trophy will be from Gunslinger? :D

Remote play:

I think I asked this before. Do you guys all have your PS4s hooked up with ethernet? Wifi not as good?
wifi only for me. using one of those asus dark knight routers approximately 30 feet away and one floor down. works awesome, I've done most of my tlou mp run using it. sometimes (especially when playing online with people and streaming video to the ps3 that's in the same cabinet as the ps4) it'll desync and jank up motion for a couple seconds, but under normal circumstances it's just fine using wifi.

Pretty good game to get it from. I toyed with the idea of putting off the Deadly Premonition plat and making it my 3,000th, but I was ready to go ahead and finish it up. Would've been neat for that to have been showing on my profile, though.

cool, I have Verizon fios 50/25 and whatever router they use. is asus dark knight some suped up router thats better or is it just a cool name?

I never tried ps3 wifi before, but with my other tv down I was too lazy to move stuff around. I jumped on my backroom ps3/tv and it has worked fantastic, even when playing online games of ghost. no lag at all. woot technology. I named my router BigBoner420 and already everyone that comes over and gets on the network gives me that look. lol

it's purportedly good for distance/signal strength - I have a house from the 30s (lath and plaster and brick a gogo) so it's always a little tough to get the signal everywhere I want. I wouldn't say this was a tremendous improvement, but it was noticeable. before getting it remote play was less reliable but still worked ok usually.

Thanks guys. I am trying real hard to wait for the holidays to buy a Vita. I am sure there will be some good deals.
I want one too, but for some reason can't bring myself to buy one. I'd like to get one for around $100 but I don't see that happening anytime soon. Interested in seeing if we ever get that Vita/PS4 bundle.

Fun Fact: Having the Ethernet cord in your ps4 makes your connection go faster!
So you can actually make a post like a normal person (even if it was an annoying captain obvious post). How about more posts like this that leave off the bruhs, dats, and does and maybe more of us would not just write off everything that you say. Haven't they hinted you should try to fit in with the people around you in social skills? More posts like that would be a good start for fitting in here.

oops, forgot to log out of my alt

Last weekend for the first time I played Madden 15 from my inlaws!!!  Thanks to Remote play I played through their Wifi to my house, no lag what so ever!!!!!  Remote play is honestly a saving grace, I play each night before bed while laying in bed, allows me for a lot more time with the system that I otherwise wouldn't get normally!  Not to mention when my wife wants to watch something I just let her and keep playing on my Vita.  Did I also mention the some 15 games I have on my 32 gb memory card that only cost me around $30 on sale?   =P~

What makes you think he didn't copy-paste that from somewhere?

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth
Is it going to be free through PS+ when it releases?

This is the PS+ November game for North America and Europe, so yes.

Is multiplayer supported on the Vita? IIRC, I believe Rebirth only has local co-op, so I’m guessing not, but again, would like confirmation.

Got my Velocity platinum this morning. Not sure what I'll start next since Joe Danger is broken. With Destiny on Tuesday it'll have to be something short.

Dont I feel really dumb now.

I feel dumb because my PS4 is in the same fuck ing room as my router.  I am just so used to wifi and hate cables running everywhere that it didnt even dawn on me that I could run a cable if I wanted.

Still nice to know that wifi should work well with remote play.

Slender The Arival coming on September 23

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2014/09/05/slender-the-arrival-coming-to-ps3-on-september-23rd/

Is this some sort of scary game?
It's a larger spiritual successor to the free Slender game that was absurdly popular a year or two ago. I've only played the first level and so far it's decent enough, so I don't play many horror games so I haven't a lot to compare it to.

Coincidentally I was actually thinking of streaming it today, since I guess people like watching others get scared while playing video games or something, so I guess you can see what it's like then.

That clownhawks logo is both vomit-inducing and super confusing. I can't wait for you to be able to switch back.

Isn't it incredibly short?

awesome, you may have missed it earlier, but you told me how I can keep ahead of you. 5 more perfect levels and finishing the game...
You're aware that I could hypothetically play another game and end up scoring more points in that time than you will get for that 25 Perfects trophy, right? So it's really not much of a strategy.
