Time for a new poll topic! Should I get a grip for my Vita? Then we'll have a poll on which is the best one to get.

On an unrelated note, I'm thinking I should get a grip on my Vita. Any suggestions? Velocity Ultra makes me feel like I need one.

But for real is that how it works? I've only ever preordered online for store pick up, but I thought when you do in store preorders, you are doing that actual buying when you pick it up. But if it is going to be a hassle for you then good. That's what you get for being a racist.

Eh. No excuse, IMO. There are plenty of games from that time period with much better controls. I just played Sly 1 which came out in 2002 and it had aged fantastically. J&D came out in 2001 and aged quite well in the control area as well. Maybe they used that schema for MGS1 and didn't want to change it, though, I dunno.

I'm hoping that MGS3 improved things there. Any thoughts on that? Surely they fixed it at some point in the series.

Yep. Nyko Power Grip. I've got one for my fat, it's great. Still need to pick one up for my slim.

If it's reasonably priced and easy to find then I'll have to buy one soon. I've been putting a lot of hours into my Vita lately so now I feel the need for one.

Edit: Is this it? Looks kind of crappy.

The controls change every game, but they do eventually get better. It's interesting if you played the games in order, you can kind of get a feeling of how the controlls evolved as they figured out how to make them actually work.

Do you have the old version of the Vita?

I always recommend the eforcity cheap-o's (though I don't think anyone ever actually buys them). I bought the white ones right after I got my Vita and they've been great so far. Nothing flashy, but makes holding the Vita feel a lot more like holding a controller.

For the fat, yeah. If you have a slim they have one that specifically says it's for the 2000 model.

Edit: Either way, GS has them for $20. The fat ones are no longer in production and aren't sold online, but you can check to see if any of the stores in your area have one. If not you can have one transferred in from a different store (this is how I got mine.)

Yeah I have the original. I was wondering why the Nyko was so expensive and saw it comes with a battery pack built it. The extra battery life sounds good but my cheapass may try the one you linked on Amazon. Otherwise Sears it is.

$20 is much better than $35. I didn't see any in my area on GS.com so maybe I'll call. If not, I'll get one of the cheap ones Tyler linked to.

Tyler, thanks man. Just ordered from Amazon. I hadn't seen that one before, just the 15.00 to 25.00 range ones. For 4 bucks after shipping, what the hell, may as well. Good reviews too. Now this will hold me until I get a slim.


This also looks low profile enough that it should fit inside my Vita pouch.

Yep, basically doubles your battery life. The only thing I'd say is an issue is that you can't use CMA with the Vita via cable when it's in the Nyko. It just doesn't pass through the Nyko at all and your PS3 will never detect that it's connected. Since the firmware updates that allowed CMA wirelessly a year or so back, though, that's a non-issue.

Yessssssss thank Jesus! I beat Doctor Who with all collectibles on hard, and in under 300 minutes. I had to do an extra run on the Vita version. Now I just have to clean up some random level specific trophies and that's my 4th plat in 4 days. All hard games too.

Man, apparently the Destiny PS4 Ghost Edition weighs 25 pounds.  Glad I noticed this before trying to sell mine on eBay, any profit I made would be eaten up by shipping and fees.

Normally make my final decisions on PSN sales on Monday, but as per the poll who knows if Destiny is going to cause the servers to melt down so I went ahead and picked up DP:UDC tonight instead. Also, embargo till release date? I suppose that is because the servers aren't going to be up until tomorrow giving them less than 24 hours to do their reviews.

Are you a Ys fan? I rented it from Gamefly. I've had it a couple of weeks now. Played a bit but it hasn't really grabbed me. I need to get back to it but haven't really felt the motivation to do so. You could get more into it, I dunno. Might want to consider something else since GS has it for $19.99 used, though.

Don't use that to gauge. The Ys games on Steam are different. Ys Seven (PSP) and Ys: MoC have you using a team of characters and running around with them. They play differently from Ys: Oath in Felghana and Ys: Origin.

Watch some gameplay videos at least.
