I'll spoiler it for those of you who are sick of hearing about my health, but here is what I got from today:

I had an endoscopy today since the colonoscopy last week didn't show anything unusual. Immediately after the procedure today they got me a long term prescription for Prilosec because they believe I might have gerd (basically a kind of reflux). If this is the case then the hope is that between Prilosec, changing some eating habits (thankfully not too big of a deal because I started eating healthier about a year ago) and changing how I lay when I sleep (lift the head of the bed 6 to 8 inches off the floor, which is going to be a hassle) it may fix my pain.

The doc also took some biopsies to check for a few things, Celiac disease in particular. This also would not be too big of a deal, because my fiance doesn't eat gluten because it makes her sick, so we already do most meals gluten free as is. All in all the options here are not that bad and certainly things I can deal with.

The bad news comes if the biopsies don't show anything and the Prilosec doesn't help because at that point they aren't sure what it could be. They have suggested that at that point we could try going on various treatments and see if anything makes it better, but I think I would probably get a second opinion before going on any kind of drug cocktails (sorry Oharm, I mean Pharm!)
Hope it works for you. It's frustrating having health issues that aren't easily diagnosed.

Hang in there endergeek. At least your getting some options to hopefully feeling better. Keep your head up and hope things start turning around in a good way soon.

Well I bought Strength of the Sword 3. Will I play it? Maybe not. But I like supporting things going on sale for $1.

I'd buy a bunch of PS1 games if they were $1 and I could play them on my Vita.

Velo's streaming you guys. Well he's not there. There's some obnoxious dude just talking forever.

But I totally got the guy to do a roundhouse kick because I told him there's no way he could do it. After that happened, the mod silenced me. Even though, someone tipped 20 tokens to see him do the kick!
ill unsilence/ban ya and make you a mod. yeah that nightmare mod is ban happy, my girl just told me he banned my buddy and his girl reptar when i was out of the room.

I wasn't there cept for bjs. I was playing The Evil Within and just chilln, lol.

i walked in and some dude tipped 230 tokens for me to get a dude bj and im like wtf and had the girls give bjs.

It's a trap!

goodnight guys ;)

Holy shit.

So that google user that pops up reads the thread for real.

I am now getting ads for jimmy johns.

WTF.
I got a spam yesterday on my Gmail account going off on Jimmy Johns for their poor pay and benefits. I get spam from seemingly the same organization / group bitching about the low wages some companies pay.

Stick of Truth is the BestBuy DOTD. Tempting at $20 ($16 GCU).
I must be the only person who didn't like this game. I really wanted to like it and did for a bit. Then got stuck in someone's house and no desire to go back outside to round up more health (I think) so I could complete the boss like battle.

Well I'm about to find out, I ordered it this morning.

I don't know if this advice for The Evil Within will help any of you whiners, but here you go (taken from GFaqs):

Don't do what I did, and max out melee all at once. it doesn't make much of a difference.

A good pro tip I would suggest is you do not touch the maximum life bar upgrade. Unless you are at danger low levels of health and haven't encountered a healing kit or syringe in a while.

Why? Well, a lot of people don't know this, but if you increase your maximum life through upgrading, it AUTOMATICALLY replenishes your health. Your life bar gains are not huge per upgrade, so really it's like buying a gradually increasing health kit. So, you will have up to 5 full heals. Covet this.

Get your sprint up as soon as possible. it's vital during certain boss segments.

Pick a gun to upgrade and stick to it. bullets are scarce, but pistol bullets drop pretty regularly. beef up crit to at LEAST 20%, and bring your ammo capacity up, as well as how much bullets you can hold for handgun. so naturally, I suggest pistol for your first playthrough.

that's really about it. you aren't going to be hurting TOO badly on experience points. but melee path robs you of around 30-40k. I could have used that elsewhere. Melee won't help you for long. it becomes completely useless later in the game.
I'm starting it up later today.

I finally talked myself into getting started on Murdered: Soul Suspect last night, and it is not as bad as I thought.  The story is kind of cool, but the gameplay mainly consists of a collection fest and occasional hiding from demons or killing them via a single QTE.  It kind of reminds me of Beyond with a ton of collectibles.  Luckily, it only needs the one playthrough so hopefully it will not get really dull like Beyond did with the multiple runs.

If you are ok with following a collectible guide, it appears it will be a super easy platinum.  If you can not stand a game with extremely shallow gameplay even if the story is interesting, this one is definitely not for you.  The game is really short so if you are on the fence I would probably give it a try.  With that said, I have not made it to the end yet so hopefully the story does not end up with an idiotic ending.

As of right now, I plan to leave the PS4 version on my Gamefly Q to play again later.  It should be even shorter on a second playthrough since I will skip more of the cut scenes.

I actually think Murdered: SS had a better ending than Shadow of Mordor's. :???:

I did not even know you had played it. I assume you were a pretty big fan of it based on the story after your recent posts?

The only thing that seems to really bug me so far is why would the guy shoot him 6 times on the right side of his chest. You would think he would at least go for a heart shot with a few of those. I guess he just had a vendetta with the guys right lung, lol.

I liked M:SS more than most. The most annoying aspect of it was having to use a video guide for the collectibles I missed in the main hub since I had no way of knowing which ones I missed (obviously). The best part was likely the fact that I "rented" it from Gamestop, though, so I didn't pay a dime to plat it.

Also, I figure those gunshots on just the one side look a lot cooler from a design standpoint, especially for the boxart. ;)

Those holding out hope for Walking Dead to perform better on the PS4 I think are going to be disappointed because the main problem doesn't appear to be the engine (though it is A problem), but that tell tale just are shitty logic coders. Had two coding error that kept me from progressing. One I exited the train engine and no reticule appeared no matter how many times I re-entered and exited. Then later on once I unhooked something and passed through an area, I met a new character, but then no one would acknowledge that I had unhooked it. So I went back to check if I had to do something else to unhook it, still unhooked, passed through that area again and it looped the introduction to the new character again.

Did they at least fix the horrendous slow downs when the game is auto-saving between scenes?

I'm still playing the PS3 version, I'm just saying that based on my experiences with it (for those who were waiting to play only the PS4 version) the core problems are not system limitations but garbage programming, something that isn't going to be fixed with more horsepower.

Tiny Troopers hits 10/28 for PS3/Vita. Cross/buy+Cross/Save, PS4 version coming later. Weighs in at $7.99.

Ugh, why does TT get away with shitty programing?  Their games should run flawlessly since they are clearly not pushing the system limits.  Ill never give them a dime to play their games if they cant do that right.

I severely dislike Eli so free likes to any gif or image that depicts him as sad and defeated.

Thinking about trying to GameStop "rent" M:SS now for tomorrow night with the wife and kid gone. And awfully tempted by South Park too. But SP will be that cheap again come Black Friday I imagine.

Oh, well I much rather deal with a small glitch like that which is not game breaking than dealing with thinking the console locked up every... fucking... time.... it goes to save or pop a trophy. That is the main thing that I hope is fixed. Granted, the other issues should not exist either, but as many TellTale games as I have played, I can not say I have seen things like you mention (knock on wood).

Also Amazon pay wall. starting this holiday season amazon prime members will get 30 minutes early access to "select" lightning deals.

I'm doing a no upgrade run like velo, but I could've guessed that upgrading sprint is important later. you run like you've had a strict diet of donuts and 2 liters for the past 15 years.

I think I'm almost done with chapter 5 and I'm really starting to enjoy it more. invisible enemies are awful, but they're forunately completely stupid also:

They have virtuality no navigation skills, so if there's a room you can duck in to or if you can just move a lightweight object between them and you they'll get stuck trying to get through the obstacle. just shoot them in the invisible face.

also, poison arrows are awesome for them - it'll make them show themselves and then kill them instantly.

Also that's good timing if that Bayonetta sale is real as I started looking to pick that up for a decent price after finishing Vanquish.

Geez, that really blows.

Been trying to do more backlog reduction. I know you told me I should try Blood Money before giving up on the Hitman Trilogy, but after reading some reviews it sounds like it's not that different from 2 and Contracts. You played Absolution? Thinking I may just skip straight to it.

Also thought about selling the Splinter Cell Trilogy, but I think I'm just gonna skip Pandora Tomorrow and play Chaos Theory. It sounds a bit more lenient and action-oriented, which should make it more fun for me.

Google's browsing.  Let's mess with it.

Purple thongs, dipped in butterscotch, Jimmy John's, a giant bucket of chocolate covered ants, reading the first issue of X-Men.

What didn't you like about SoM's ending?
1. It seemed far too abrupt, plus the final boss was a QTE (though I knew that from Destructoid's review).

2. The entire game focused on how Talion was doing everything so he could finally die and be with his dead wife and son, and he suddenly says "screw it, we have to fight Sauron" at the last minute because sequel fodder. Murdered: SS's Ronan had a similar motive, and he finally moved on at the end, which I really liked.

3. "The time has come for a new Ring"? Seriously? How about no, since that never happened, nor will that ever happen according to Tolkien?

I'd say both are definitely worth playing, but not necessarily worth buying.

Clarification on my poll answer.  I voted that I do not care that it is not available on PS4.  I know I would never purchase it since I think it is a joke.  However, I think Sony should have given their customers the option of buying it *if* EA was willing to have dedicated tech support for it to avoid Sony having to deal with the people who bought it.

This sold me on it. It's still backlogged, but I'm pretty excited to play it in a year or two.
It kind of looks like a less psychotic Serious Sam. I really don't like Serious Sam, simply because I hate straffing the whole game and just running/shooting enemies the whole time. It gets boring. But Shadow Warrior looks like it has a good amount more variety, an upgrade system, etc.

Anyone here know both these games and can give me a decent comparison between Shadow Warrior and the Serious Sam games?

Actually Scott Pilgrim looks fun. Not sure how I've managed to never see anything about it before.

Anybody play it? What were your thoughts?
You've never heard of the Scott Pilgrim game?!?!?!? It's awesome!!!!!!!! Music is so good and art style is amazing. I have 4 Scott Pilgrim paintings on my wall.
