The reason Dead Nation PS4 isn't cross-buy with the PS3/Vita versions is because the PS4 version is the Apocalypse Edition. Basically some DLC and stuff got added in. Granted they still could have made it cross-buy, but that was the justification for not doing so.

I know next to nothing about Catherine, but does it actually fit the theme of the sale?
Somewhat. You're trapped in a nightmare world every night and you have to flee up a puzzle tower to escape a giant monster formed from your fears. A demonized version of the girlfriend, a giant baby that represents fear of parenthood, etc.. It's a pretty crazy game. The MC gets sucked into all this because of a demon as well, and that gets addressed in the story.

So is the Vita version of Dead Nation worth picking up? In particular, does it play better than streaming the PS4 version on the Vita - the game was way too tiny to play IMHO. If they scale it up in the Vita version that would be cool.

Also I assume the Castlevania games are worth picking up. I have never played those. I've only played a few Castlevania games on DS.

Any GS regulars in this thread going to do a group for Dante's Inferno. I'd get in on a resell for that if you any of you do one.

I know I should post this over there but I don't know anyone over there...
I am, one way or another....but it's complicated right now, so I'd have to let you know.

dead nation on vita is still waaaay too tiny. it's a pretty big handicap on something that's pretty twitchy. still fun though. I just let rpg kill everything anyways.

I know this is going to sound insane but how does the PS3 group buy thing work exactly? I missed the era of PS3 when it all started and never really checked it out otherwise. 1 person buys and then trusts the others with their account info?

nope.

@Matt buying any???

  • Zombeer ps3
  • Plants warfare ps3
Yeah i want to get Zombeer for some reason. But I'm not sure on anything right now, I have a shared account with an $84.99 purchase on it and need to spend $15.01 to get $15 back. Waiting on the other resell to let me know his opinions before I do anything.

If you would rather play it portable anyway, Dracula X Chronicles has a version of Symphony of the Night on it. Lament of innocence is a PS2 game but based on reviews it is supposed to be pretty good, though it is 3D so it might not have aged as well.

for anyone tantalized by the price, dante's inferno physical is available used for $8 pretty much everywhere. you won't get much out of resell, but I know some folks prefer it. dunno what the dlc offers so that might swing ya digital anyhow.

I got the ultimate edition for $5 in one of those GS sales. I resold it for about the same amount. I wasn't interested in playing it anymore, but for $1 I'm willing to go back now and make an unholy run out of it and grab most of those remaining trophies. There are no difficulty trophies, just story-related, collectibles, and for maxing out the holy/unholy skill paths.

Yep, quick and easy plat. I enjoyed the game.

Yeah, Dante's Inferno is a pretty great GoW ripoff. In the lust level you climb up a big cock tower and fight a giant naked monster with enemies coming out of her nips. In case anyone was in the mood to play something like that...

And it's too bad that Shadows of the Damned was never added to PSN as this would be the perfect sale for it to be apart of. The Evil Within has made me want to revisit that one and I keep hoping that MS will put it on sale for cheap (fat chance). It's already pretty cheap physically, but I'm lazy.

I keep forgetting to ask this: I can't be the only one who reversed the cover artwork for The Evil Within, right? I really like that the Asylum alternate art won in the end.

So in terms of games I have actually played that I would recommend

Demon's Souls: Hard but fair.

Guacamelee: Like a castlevania game, if Belmont were a luchadore wrestler dropping acid in Mexico. The melee combat system is fluid, responsive, and overall excellent. The PS4 version on sale has a new level and boss fight (which I haven't played since I only own the PS3 version), but includes both pieces of DLC.

RDR: Undead Nightmare - In some ways it is more enjoyable than the main game. It's kind of like an open world, wild west version of post 4 Resident Evil. It also isn't as long so for some people that is a plus.

If u like god of war at all you should like Dantes infeno. I liked it a lot.
DI is super cheap, though. There were always long sections without any way to regain health, and when you die you come back with the same low amount of health you had at the previous checkpoint. It's easy to get locked into a situation where you die over and over again because of the health/checkpoint system leaving you no way to defeat a group of enemies.

Edit: You can change the difficulty at any point, though, and there are no trophies related to difficulty. So that can end up being the only way to progress without a previous save/restarting the game.

Shit, I spent way more than $100 this month, maybe I'll hold off until the next sale for Garden Warfare. It'll probably be even cheaper on Black Friday.

What a surprise, you misread yet another post.

I didn't say WE make fun of you because WE'RE friends; I said some of US make fun of EACH OTHER because we're friends. See the difference?

You are not included because you and I are not friends. I think you are full of shit, and not to put words in other's mouths, but from what I gather most everyone else in here does too. And a lot of your "jokes" have some malice behind them (like that time you wouldn't let the whole LEGO thing go and had to make a comment about it every chance you could just to get under their skin)

Have a blessed day, asshole!
Hahaa, you're so disingenuous it's not even funny. Now there's "malice" behind my words? Bitch, please, it's video games. Get a life. We're not all going to like the same things. The same way people here hate Journey or Tearaway or Nintendo. I don't take it personally. You're so quick to point out the occasional remark I make but where are you when people are poking fun at Stoch's weight or any of the other truly distasteful shit? But let me say something about LEGO or trophies and that warrants your ire? Really?

If you think I'm "full of shit", fine. But I can't recall the last time I spoke to or at you. Hell, anyone, really. So it's amazing that you're STILL intent on being this way. I even offered to help you raid yet there you are making snide comments the first chance you get.

I've made a few buddies here and that's enough for me to stick around. You think I'm concerned over a select group of losers with insular and unhealthy lifestyles who got upset I "infringed" on their bubble? You mad bro? If you had a problem you could have PM'd instead of trying to start shit in front of everyone. But I guess we gotta get that like count up, eh? Later, kracker.

Maybe we should all list the friends we've made in this thread? That would be a lot less time consuming than making a list of enemies we've made in this thread.

And @pharm, if you're actually being serious, I'm sorry to hear that. I meant to remind you earlier that I'm in Tampa but got distracted by that other bullshit. You need help moving or just anything, dude, I'll do what I can. Hopefully y'all work out, though. Sucks.
