LEGO Deals 3

Oh, figured it was already released since there are some plastic mans on ebay. Just checked the release date and it does look like next week.
Gamestop might have received the figures already, if your cool with somebody there go ask them for one. If I had to guess I'm sure most employees and/or managers snake the giveaways.

I don't think I have a gamestop by me anymore. The one in my mall closed.
lol.... really? I'm not trying to be rude but do you live in a small town? I have 7 stores in a 7 mile radius from where I live, I just assumed Gamestops pop up like liqour stores everywhere else as well.

I live near a city of 120,000-140,000 and there are at least 20 within 10-15 miles of me. Hell there used to be three within a half a mile but they closed one that was literally across the street.

Ware Ma has more cows then people and still has one.

I'll keep a lookout for some of those polybags and new 2015 sets at TRU.

I have a 2 polybag Harry Potter labs and 1 polybag Bat Tumbler for trade if anyone has any offers. Just getting into this and looking at mainly superhero stuff. Open to any and all trades. Really looking for that luchador mini figure.

I checked 4 targets and non had any polybags on clearance.  Two that I went to had them in the front checkout aisles, but they all scanned $3.99 and had the same name on the scanner.

Ha, I have 9!

(Yes, I really checked cause I was curious.)

15 within 10 miles. Depends on location, I moved here two years ago, currently outside DC, such a huge population. On the other hand, I grew up 20 minutes south of St. Louis in a very rural area and could probably name all the locations in the St. Louis area.

Back to Lego talk, as we all know plenty well how GameStop is like herpes sores.

I've got the Imperial Flagship (10210) and Imperial Shuttle (10212) NIB; money's tight and I'm never going to build the damn things, let alone have anywhere to display them, and it looks like I could get around $500 for each on eBay or BrickLink... anyone think prices will climb as we approach Christmas? I haven't looked into trends on eBay, but each has generally sold for more over the last 6 months at BL.

The mountain of unopened sets I have at my parents' house is really pretty embarrassing... no wonder I'm so poor.

Just looked.  The closest gamestop is 30-40 min away.

That Imperial Flagship is a great set.  Unfortunately, I missed the boat on that one when it was availble.  Was too busy buying every star wars set.

And just like herpes there is no way to stop them.

Anyways. We are getting a Toy Story 4 in 2.5 years, who thinks we will get more LEGO sets then?
Possibly... It's hard to tell, the sets they had out were a commercial flop

You're not poor, you're investing in Lego stock :)

It didn't help that the TS3 LEGO sets were mostly crap.  RC was badass, the rest were pretty lame.  I mean immortalizing such iconic scenes with a dump truck and a garbage truck in LEGO form was a stroke of genius. ~cough...sarcasm...cough~  They were City sets with TS minifigs.  What a joke.  What about reenacting the scene where all the toys are almost burned alive?  Fun for the whole family!

The Pizza Planet truck would make a killer set, but what they released was hampered by a low piece count.  Whomever headed up that line should be demoted to the Duplo brand.

RC though?  Easily top 5 set that I own, if not my favorite.  It's just a badass little set.  Accurate representation, solid piece count for the model, great colors... just all around fantastic.

1. Buy more sets.

2. The set was HUGELY overpriced. Didn't it have 87 pieces and cost $15-$20? That's like City prices now!

I found a couple Lego 5522 50th anniversary sets at a local toy shop for $29.99. Do you guys think they're worth picking up (1 to maybe keep, the other to sell)? Seems like resale value is pretty low for a set from 2008.

LEGO Ideas results are in and they are interesting.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DiX7Q5_TTjo#t=26

I met him in NYC and he hinted at a Doctor Who set!

Plus bird seems useless as we are getting a Creator bird set for $15-$20 next year (And might be out now at TRU) and Big Bang just seems very weird to me because LEGO is normally against playlets and likes vehicles.

Most of the next review will never ever be considered.  My guess is LEGO sees that and is holding back on Doctor Who because of it and legal issues.

I want that Lego Wall-E
They have to make it. It's the only one there that makes sense. Like LEGO is going to make one of those 5,000 piece sets. However the Batman Manor set is pretty cool and already looks like a set.

I see the Hubble being made and selling out in 5 hours like the fucking Mars Rover.

In regards to the Toy Story line I have Woodys Roundup, RC, train chase, the little army man set, the build a Buzz and pizza planet truck. Love them all but got most of them for less than retail. But yeah the trash compactor and dump truck sets were lackluster and I passed on them. I'm really not enthused about a new movie, the trilogy ended perfectly, but if it comes out and is good and we get new sets I'll be happy.

The new ideas birds sets may be a buy for me if the price point is low but BBT is a pass, that show is God awful. Of the next sets up for review I think only the ones with a low piece count have a real shot - wall-e, lightsabers and Hubble. All of those would be cool but I really want wall-e

I agree, there's no way they make those mansions.

My 3 year old really loves the trash compactor set. I was glad to get it for $20 or whatever it was on clearance.

I'll probably pick up the Big Bang Theory set.

Disappointed that the Back to the Future train didn't make the cut. I thought it'd have a chance since Lego already has access to the license. Maybe the lackluster Delorean design is keeping them from releasing new BTTF stuff. Anyone know how sales have been on the Delorean?

I think the problem would be price point. If the little car cost $35 how much would the trim have cost? I'm thinking $120+, thats just too much for Cuusoo.

I'm down for BBT set. Seems like a lot of minifigs for what should be a sub $100 set. No interest in birds. The models are impressive but just not for me.

I don't see much making out of the next review phase. Batman just got a huge set in the Tumbler. X-men doesn't have the lego fanbase to build on to justify such a large set out of the gate. Similar for Ghostbusters HQ. Without a movie tie-in, it's just too big of a set to take a chance on. AT-AT... never gonna happen. Invisible Hand seems too obscure for a UCS size set. That leaves the lightsabers, Hubble and Wall-e which seem more than likely.

Wall-e is gorgeous. Hubble would be cool. The lightsabers are also cool but seems like too many rounded parts for LEGO's tastes.

At any rate, they need to figure out a way to make more of these sets before doing any of them. The RI and Mars Rover shortages are a stain on the Ideas product line.

1. Got plenty. kthx

2. Price wasn't part of my assessment. All the TS sets were overpriced, so it's a moot point.

Speaking of the Research Institute, LEGO.com has changed the description from "check LEGO stores" to:

LEGO® Ideas sets are fan created and limited production. We’re sorry it’s not available – it’s proven to be an overwhelmingly popular set. We’re investigating if we can make more. Check back soon!
So that's promising. I'd imagine all the negative press and reviews got to them, as they should.

Just bought The Daily Bugle and the Power Armour Lex Luthor sets from Amazon. Totally free thanks to the lunchables contest. I'm excited. Felt like I needed a building to center all my legos around.

As posted in the games forum, Amazon is having a 25% promo for select items for chase Amazon rewards visa holders. Just wanted to point out that they have two lego set included in this promo - the ewok village set, and mind storms EV3 31313. However, the promo does say the discount is limited to $50 off, so I guess that would make these sets $50 off, since 25% would exceed a $50 discount. The lego sets are found under the "games" category of the promotion if anyone is interested.

Thanks a ton for this. Didn't use it on Legos, but still ended up saving $40 on presents on my niece's list.

New Minecraft sets are up for purchase on Amazon. They're retail right now, but if the demand is the same as the last ones when they came out, they're going to go quick.

Looks like I may have missed out on the Town Hall.  It's been Sold Out for a few weeks now and I haven't seen it in stores either.  It's weird since the Pet Shop came out first and it's still being sold.

Nothing that great. I got the Creator House for like $47, well worth the price, not worth the BF trouble.
I'm surprised they didn't do a big $100 set this year, I remember in years past you would see them stocking up on the endcaps right before but I didn't notice anything this year. I guess we're not getting one, they got tired of putting them on clearance months later.... lol
