Happy Belated Thanksgiving guys!

Anyone want some leftover cookies I apparently made a few too many of? ;)

Why am I considering Angry Birds Star Wars PS3 for $4? WHY! fuckin cheap plat games.
I hatelove you Zimm; random cheap finds like this make the cheapass trophy whore part of me ecstatic while the responsible backlog-trimming aspect curses profusely.

Zimm I did jc2 easily so u wont have trouble with hardcore mode.
Only if you suck at third-person shooters.
Would you suggest doing everything on one Hardcore run, or splitting up completion & Hardcore?

If the former, were there a lot of bs stressful annoying situations to deal with while finishing up?

El Shaddai Review + tips

I actually scored in the top 100 on the leaderboards for ch. 8 which was kinda neat.
You are so good at crafting well-written reviews/tips/walkthroughs Owl, sweet jeebus.

Congrats on the plat and thanks for adding another volume to my Owl Tips collection of saved documents. :D

I highly recommend the former; while there were some annoying aspects in terms of the insanely persistent enemies, it wasn't too hard. Then again, I play a lot of third-person shooters, so your difficulty with it may vary.

Man, 6 years later and Dead Space is still better than most releases from this year, and playing it feels just like riding a bike--you never really forget. ;)

Burnout is so fun to play by yourself and with a group online.  Im glad I listened to you guys about getting it.  So much fun for less than $5.

ETA: And thanks to wren for hanging out and playing with Kameleon, Zimm, and myself tonight after finishing Cops and Robbers with us and Velo.  Since he has recently done some of the other DLC challenges it went way faster for us because he knew where to tell us to go.

Roughly 25 hours to plat. There are a few grindy trophies. Its not hard at all but gets really boring post campaign.
Yup, this exactly. Clearing out the remaining outposts, doing the obscure trophy tasks, and grinding for that last XP all get super dull, but none of them are overly long. 25 is about exactly right for the platinum.

And now that I'm done with it, I thought Far Cry 3 was quite a bit better than Far Cry 4. Both games suffer from things being too far away and hidden behind mountains that take forever to go around, but FC4 was worse in both areas. The hunting wasn't as fun or as satisfying (no sharks!?!? WTF!?!?), the main bad guy was super dull, and maybe it was just me, but I found stealth to be nearly impossible. Dude's were spoting me like crazy from a mile away.

I hear ya blood. Same problem I have. I ended up getting it because cheap (and for the kid I suppose). Added Castlevania Lords of Shadow Collection ($20), Princess Bride Blu-Ray ($6) & X-Men/Wolverine Blu-Ray box set ($20 lightning deal). Brought me $.10 shy of my $50 gift card I've been sitting in for nearly a year. I finally feel like I've Black Fiday'd

Shit, looks like those PSN codes might not get delivered until after the $15 back offer is done. In that case, I won't be buying anything and just save it for sales.

So since you guys are talking about Fallout, and another thread on another board is talking about Fallout, I thought you would appreciate what was said there about New Vegas:

I appreciate the post and found it somewhat interesting, but I don't necessarily agree with it. Just because a game can follow a timeline and acknowledge events that took place in previous entries doesn't make it a great game which is what he seems to be hung on. Plus, I was never a big pc gamer so FO3 was my first fallout experience. (and wtf was the point of him spoiling all those quest lines? At least he put a warning in, but I still don't see how it was necessary)

I admit I wasn't very impressed with NV when i beat it on 360. I've read good things about it though (especially the dlc) so this time I've decided to leave no stone unturned and do everything I can to give it a fair chance.

Getting myself pumped for that big FO4 announcement next month, right?..... right?

Yeah, a lot of what people hated about FO3 is how disconnected it is from the Fallout series with taking place on the opposite coast and not really connecting to the previous games. From reading the post I quoted I think you can see how New Vegas brought it back.

All 4 major Fallout releases are incredible. Yes, Fallout purists bitch about the new ones, but fuck them. The series was 10+ years in the grave, they weren't going to bring it back just to appease a small niche group of PC gaming nerds (take that Steam thread!). I love the new ones for what they are, not hate them for what they aren't.

Damn, the first episode of Tales of Borderlands was pretty awesome. I was not psyched for this TT series at all, but now I am anticipating the 2nd episode about as much as I am the new GoT series. I didn't think the TT sappy writing and characters would work as well in Borderlands as it did in TWD or TWAU..but it does.

For those still holding strong on the PS3 front, it seems like TT not only upgraded their engine for PS4 gen, but have improved their foundation for PS3 too. I didn't have any hitches or hard resets, it ran smooth from start to finish.

I got TWD s2 and TWAU for around $6 each on Steam before either season had completely finished its release. Hoping TotB follows the same trend. I'm actually a bit curious about the GoT title as well though the books and TV show don't do much for me.

Was about to like until that atrocious comment at the end.

Seriously though, you should just rent it from Trophy DLC in the GS thread. .50 per episode.

I started reading the books when they first came out. I like GRRM's other stuff better. GoT has too many characters I don't like that eat up all the screen time and I'm not particularly interested in books that try to show a bunch of perspectives on a large conflict anyway.

What other stuff of us do you like? I have only read Fevre Dream (which is awesome) and a few of his short stories. Are you into the Wild Card series he contributes on?

My offer shows that the bonus $25 is only valid on qualifying digital camera purchases. :/
Yep. If you plan on buying anything like that by the end of January, though, it's a free $25.

Fevre Dream, Armageddon Rag, and my favorite is Tuf Voyaging.

I've not read the Wild Card series. I need to try that out.

I should be playing Burnout most of the day today.  If anyone wants to do the red and blue team online trophies from the Cagney DLC let me know.  It looks like it is the last of the online stuff I need after the session yesterday.

I stayed up another hour knocking out trophies last night after we finished because I couldn't put it down. And then I dreamed about making big jumps and doing other Burnout shit. I may need help.

So a few years ago I was playing CoD Black Ops and I got this awesome once in a lifetime kill. I had placed a sam turret and the enemy had just called in a uav/spy plane and my sam turret shot at the air and instead hit the side of a cliff and killed a dude. It was awesome and the best part was that it was the final kill cam so everyone got to see it. also it saved to youtube...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pNn7Gx2C7X8

So last night I was playing and I wish they had it recorded (I guess that will be another plus of twitching on ps4 is archiving gameplay) but I did another super awesome crazy final kill. The enemy just called in a warbird (like attack helicopter) and I pulled out my stinger and took a shot at it but it dropped some flares so my stinger missed. The round then ended and I had no idea how I got the final kill. In the final kill cam it showed my stinger missile follow the flare into the ground and there was a dude right where it landed as the final kill cam. Too cool.

K i just needed to share that with ya. Wish I had video of it also, but too awesome I do once in a lifetime kill shots and they both end up being final kill cams. peace guys
