This thread will attempt to provide a place to discuss past/present/future PC gaming deals. While mainly focusing on Steam games, any standout sales may also be presented. I will not be updating every Daily/Weekly/etc. sale. The tools to help individuals become a smarter shopper will be provided below.

On another note, RE5 base is $6.80 and the DLC is over $10 for an old ass game

That's ridiculous
Depends on how you look at it.

"No, it's not ridiculous":

The RE5 base-game is VERY OLD on the PC, while the DLC is NEWLY released on the PC.

If you want something that's a new release, you normally have to pay top premium $ for it.

That's normally how this stuff works.

"Yes, it's ridiculous."
As a CAG - you damn right it's ridiculous that the DLC costs more than the base-game.

Most CAG's laugh at this pricing and will buy the DLC much later or not at all.

It's probably inevitable this stuff drops down in price eventually on our digital PC platform - even from someone like Capcom, who ain't the greatest when it comes to offering discounts.

The only reason I can see for preordering or buying day 1 is to beat the game before your friends. My max for any game purchase is half of MSRP, which only happens with good first-party Nintendo games. Otherwise, the game can just sit on the store shelf collecting dust. This is Cheap Ass Gamer, not "Preorder Full MSRP So I Can Be The First To Max Out My Spartan And Pwn 10 Year Olds Online In Halo 5" Ass Gamer.

Hype consumerism and +1 consumerism are completely different.
Only games I've bought on day 1 or preorder were a few of the FM releases, and that was mostly due to being on an online community and wanting to be part of the fun, discoveries, talk, etc. of the new game (if that makes sense). Only other time I'd do it, though haven't yet, is for a game I really want to play and reviews/gameplay videos shows it isn't crap (Life is Strange and Cities: Skylines being the latest example of stuff I probably would have bought day 1 in different circumstances). Granted did similar to FM with Rust, then realized I spent $15 on a genre I don't really like and now have a total of 15 minutes of playtime I think in it.

Now Early Access games I have a bad issue with buying into, which can be argued to be equally bad at times. Luckily avoided Spacebase DF-9 but not by much (it was on my list for the longest time).

OH man...ZeldaU delayed to 2016.  Herp Derp.  I like my consoles, but this gen has been a joke.  Good thing my backlog on PC is ginormous

Madjokiing indeed has a meaning but it's an Ancient Chinese Secret.

Great now I just need to price match Target to Walmart to Kmart to eBay to craigs list and stack a coupon and store credit by arguing with the manager then post about it here like I scored.
You're never gonna score.

I know this isn't the right thread, I know this, but I've just got to say:

I'm not really enjoying Bloodborne. I want to block, goddamnit. It was supposed to complete my life, but didn't and I don't know why...

That's all I got. Shit on me if you will.

Well since the thread is already derailing, I suppose now's as good as time to admit it it:

I "played" a "game."

I finished The Twerking Dead Season 1.

Damn some of those episodes really dragged on and on.  Honestly it made me miss older style adventure games... that allowed me to skip past dialog I already heard.  I dislike zombie movies/games... so I only picked this up on the Humble for $3.xx because y'all twas yammering 'bout it so much.  I can see how zombie fans would like it, but I'll stick to my Wallace and Grommit thank you very much.

I wonder what you'd think of TWD Season 2 from Telltale, since it feels a quite bit more action-esque & there's even less "puzzles" (if you want to even call them that). S2 is more about the decision-making, storytelling & character development.

I have no particular feelings one way or another about Bloodborne, but I'm not one to turn down an invitation.
Let me know your schedule and I'll pencil you in, hopefully, some time soon. I've been feeling a little too good about myself, lately, and I need to be put in my place. Also, I'm a dirty, dirty boy. So...

Edit: Even more OT, where do people buy shoes for cheap online, these days? I know the shoe and my size, but everywhere I turn, I'm being digitally wallet-analized by these prices.

Uggh, no. The action segments sucked. I wouldn't go as far as even calling them token-puzzles.

Does it still have zombies?

So the Jones on Fire dev won't distribute keys through Indie Royale because of resellers she says.

So that's why?

I thought the dev was just lazy.

You can't even do the IR dupe trick anymore, the price would constantly go up as you bought more bundles and you can only attach 1 IR account per Desura account (which means 1 Steam key), I doubt there'd be many resellers at all....

And the game's base price is only $3!

Already flooded the E-mails and got my key.
Same.

I'm going to second MysterD here  by wondering if you wouldn't like season 2 a lot more. It's not more action-oriented at all. In fact, there's probably less. Also, it is a lot more succinct. The protagonist really made it interesting to me as well (you can probably guess who she is by the ending of Season 1). It was definitely more about the relationships of the group and I thought the individuals were more interesting. There are also some nice callbacks to 1 too.

Over at the Humble Bundle Store, you can get Spec Ops: The line free with any 2k game purchase.   I wonder if Civ 3 complete ($1.24) counts for that deal?
