This thread will attempt to provide a place to discuss past/present/future PC gaming deals. While mainly focusing on Steam games, any standout sales may also be presented. I will not be updating every Daily/Weekly/etc. sale. The tools to help individuals become a smarter shopper will be provided below.

See this POST for links to store sale pages, threads of interest and other tools to help you become a more informed PC game shopper.

So apparently i wasn't clear enough for you.

I disapprove of the moderation's heavyhandedness (which I said is probably due to their frustration with this thread/us and the personal insults a lot of us have been throwing their way), it's not professional. And it probably had something to do with the way this was handled.

However, don't act like the two of them are innocent little angels who did nothing wrong. They were stirring shit, intentionally, and posted as much in this thread. Was it funny? Absolutely, and I enjoyed the show. But like Makman said, what'd you expect to happen? They were doing it to spite the mods' stance and it worked. Mission accomplished.

Proving a valid point? Sure. But in the worst and most trolling possible way that clogged up the forum. Well-intentioned spam is still spam.

I agree that there are superthreads for a reason, we wouldn't want a million PSN or XBL deal threads either. I don't know why moderation would be opposed to this.

What I would have done, to prove the same point without coming off as obnoxious or spiteful, would be to slowly start posting separate PC deal threads, or make separate PC retail threads again (but more of them, maybe make them weekly threads like the weekly ads). But not in rapid succession and not in a "lol fuck you mods" kind of way.

That said, I agree with pasports. I think the mods are content to let us live in our little ghetto, even if they publicly say otherwise. Is it fair? Not really, but there are better ways to rock the boat than what happened.

As for how I feel about your posts getting deleted, I don't know what you posted. You probably didn't deserve it though and that ties in with that unprofessional heavy-handedness I mentioned earlier.

Not an apologist, just a reasonable person who doesn't see these things as black and white as some of you seem to.

Though with how much you drink, I would imagine you'd be used to seeing things get black. ;)
Drunks don't black out....most wouldn't even know when I am drunk. The true sign of an alcoholic.

I did however make my title town drunk. Own what you are booby
Agree with me apologist.

Crikey, I must be desperate tonight, I'm actually looking at deals.

Gods Will Be Watching is 75% off at GetGamesGo. Somebody tell me why I shouldn't buy it.

Or, better still, somebody buy it and make a sacrifice to the Bundle Gods. I'm easy.

:whee:

I've been given a 33% off coupon for Deathtrap and, in the absence of any actual deals, I'm even considering it.

It looks like a Dungeon Defenders kinda game, which I loved back when it launched. Does anybody have any actual experience with it? I'd ask Trav but, well...

Someone who bought had good things to say about it. Apparently it's part of the Van Helsing game expanded into it's own game. So if you've played Van Helsing you should have some idea what it is. If not, maybe you should play Van Helsing first.

I played, and completed, VH and to be honest I really enjoyed it. It was pretty well done and didn't overstay its welcome.

I'm having a hard time resisting. It'll be bundled eventually, but this does tick a lot of boxes for me. I need to be strong.

I bought it, so it will be bundled. Bought Hatoful Boyfriend and this from GGG yesterday. 0.36€ total with loyalty discount for subscribing to newsletter, can't complain.

Hell, even if it will be bundled, it will be BTA, so...

Yes, they're coming out on May 5th and they have piqued my interest. Can't justify spending $700-2000 on a surface pro 3... I'd say right now.. but, honestly, probably ever.
i think it is a decent pricing for a professional, or someone who is always on the go. i thought the $700-2000 price for the surface pro 3 was too much. but i would rather get a chromebook for $129.99 like right now. cuz i am cheap. aside from some compaitibility issues with windows software.

Every time I see Walkonshadows listed under "x friends want this game" I wonder where he/she went to. No activity here and nothing on Steam for quite some time.

Who moved to China not too long ago and said they wouldn't be here much or ever?
I believe it was imac2much and it looks like he was last active back in August. He was a good CAG. (EDIT: BrownDerby wins)

I do sometimes miss seeing/reading some of the CAGs that have come and gone over the years. I for one enjoy the community aspect of the Steam thread, we get deal talk and discussions about random topics (not always gold in content but usually great in entertainment). It would be pretty easy to find deals elsewhere, so I'm not entirely sure why some mods frown on having a good balance of both. CAG has a good market niche or specific appeal to the deal seeking gamer. Why it isn't embraced more is beyond me.

It will be bundled--probably--because NeoCore does have a history of doing this, but it will probably be quite a while. As I understand it, Deathtrap is supposed to be like Dungeon Keeper if DK were basically a tower defense game (or "defence" in deference to your limeyness).

Shitty graphics passed off as a design choice ("minimalistic!")
True but it still looks like a decent adventure game.

You know, I'm quite definitively not limey when it comes to spelling. All those extra "u"s in words that should end in "or," the ending "me"s at the end of "gram"s, etc., etc., all look really weird to me. And sure, maybe it conforms more to the standards of other element names, but "aluminium"? Seriously, guys?

But for some reason, I've always felt like the British versions for "ence"/"ense" and "ise"/"ize" words made more sense.

I put 40 hours into RoR and felt rather empty by the end of it. Its roguelike mechanics are addicting, but somehow I didn't feel like my time with it was as well spent as with FTL and Binding of Isaac, which I always think back on fondly. Come to think of it, that's how I feel about Endless Space vs. Civ V.
That sucks. I haven't sunk nearly that much time into it but I remember enjoying my time with it. Ironically, FTL felt like a bigger waste of my time. That's also a great game, but like you, I felt sort of empty after beating it a couple times.

God Will Be Watching looks like the type of game I'd play once, get my ass handed to me by its mechanics and say "fuck it"

So basically, someone buy it so I can pick it up in a cheap bundle.

Although I enjoyed it, FTL didn't really grab me until the expansion. I felt the new content offered enough to things to see and do and more importantly, enough different valid strategies, to give the feeling of limitless possibilities. RoR, on the other hand, I feel is highly restrictive with the class types and the way items drop. Some classes are powerful enough that you can get by on random drops with good planning; others seem to mandate the Command artifact and some luck. Once I started building Huntresses that made everything else feel sluggish and underpowered in comparison, I lost interest. But I also have to say that throughout my playtime I found the graphics to be a real turnoff. Don't ask me why it didn't bother me as much in FTL.

I never played the base game in FTL, just the expanded version. I dunno, I guess I didn't enjoy it as much as a I thought. I still feel an itch to return to Binding of Issac & Splunky even after sinking an obscene number of hours into the pair. Just not the same feeling with FTL.

Well, I don't feel much of an itch to go back to FTL.  I feel like the scripted events are a pretty big part of the gameplay experience, and after a while they get stale.  But I consider it time well spent.

I spent like 10 minutes with Spelunky...dunno if I'll ever go back to it.  It didn't grab me.

Because none of them participate in this thread, or even linger long enough to see what's so good about it. This thread is like the curious anthill on the lawn of CAG. It's mildly annoying, it might be dangerous, but inside there's a large, enjoyable, productive community that very few bother to see.

FTL was a bit too random for me. I like it, but always felt real let down when things went to crap about halfway in. Spelunky, on the other hand, is sublime. And cyrus386, I would encourage you to give it more than 10 minutes. It's a very rewarding game.

The controls are spot-on, the gameplay is deceptively deep, there are tons of secrets that are not immediately apparent, and it's mostly very fair... except when it's being unusually cruel.

Go check out the wiki or something to see how many hidden levels there are. Once you figure out how to use the environment to your advantage and make good strategic choices, you can make pretty consistently deep runs into the game.

We've been discussing that in the GOG thread. It seems GOG doesn't have an up to date key database because a lot of us can redeem Steam keys that others can't and vice versa.
Yeah, I emailed GOG support about my SOC key not working and they were all like "dis fur retale nut stamz keyz" but my other two keys worked and they were Steam too and the site even says they will work on compiling and getting more key databases since they don't have them all. I hope they do fix that and my key will work later on.

Well, in fairness, I was actually talking to Flowette, who is definitely one of those scurvy-fighters, unless he moved recently.

I'm actually comfortable with all of it (except aluminium--they're just inserting a vowel that striaght-up isn't there in that one), mostly because I spent much of my misbegotten youth reading Target novelizations (or is it novelisations?) of Doctor Who stories.

I figured that'd happen, which is why I didn't try contacting them. You should grab a key from CD Action while you still can (I expect they'll run out eventually). I think you're only fucked if your CoP key doesn't work, cuz CD Action doesn't carry those.

i cannot believe people are still paying for the subscription fee for WOW, and plus charging people for the game. TERA is a superior MMORpg game in everyway, and it is a free game, and no subscription fee
The thing that makes MMORpg's good..is a large player base...which WoW has. Others may be better but until they can get the player base the WoW has it doesnt matter what it is.

Is there a real reason to bother "converting" your keys at GOG anyway? Beyond being able to look at the same game in two separate libraries?
