Outing Mooby for promoting Fakeybroism.

He's only advertising for them because in exchange for his promoting, they let him pay for it in shitty Steam cards.

I sort of want Grav, but not at $10!!

Make sure to cut off Seath's tail for one of the most badass weapons in the game.
I was attacking the tail quite a bit and not getting hit or anything (until he moved away, of course), but his health keep regenerating.

Combat overhaul mod from one of the devs. Sadly, not save game compatible

Anybody have any thoughts on this? Just wondering if I ever get around to finishing the first one and starting the second if I should do it vanilla or with the mod. Unlike most people, I didn't have a problem with the hokey combat system in the original. I don't play RPGs for the action. Still, if the mod makes for a vastly superior experience, I'd certainly want to try it. Last I remember the consensus was it was just different, not OMG THIS FIXES EVERYTHING.

Ok.. so I watched Daredevil... good show... terrible final costume decision.  I wish I could punch the designer for ruining my childhood.  What show should I watch next?

Dark Souls PC

Made my way to Seath The Scaleless in Crystal Cave.

Been cursed a few times by Seath; had to grind a bit to go get a Purging Stone from the undead person near Firelink; and then make my way back to Seath....to get cursed again!

Yeah, this game's brutal...
Is Dark Souls hard?

Cured some stupid chick of poison, thought I was going to get to the 3rd act finally, found out I need 3 more artifacts to cure some curse to get to start eh battle to get to act 3.

:wall:

The combat in this game is hot ass
I actually don't think the combat in W2 is all that bad. Not great, but definitely not "hot ass," either. The beginning is a bit brutal before you level up your character, but after a few hours it's fine.

I actually never got cursed by Seath. Thought he was one of the easier bosses in the game.

If his health is still regenerating it's because
hint: he's immortal and you have to make him not immortal anymore

also: I got rogue legacy from PS+ a month or two ago, and started playing this weekend. I haven't played a game this addictive in a really long time. It's a rogue like, but the interesting hook is that as opposed to games like Spelunky or Binding of Issac, there's not a bunch of luck involved in terms of what items you get so you can make one deep run. Everytime you die you take the gold you got during your run to level up your character, purchase new equipment, etc. As you get stronger your character is capable of exploring different parts of the castle. It's a pretty cool and unique spin on the roguelike fad that's been going on the past few years. Combat reminds me a bit of a modernized version of castlevania symphony of the night or something.

I hope it's in a bundle soon so all you non-peasants can enjoy it.

It's so good I'm thinking of crafting a badge.  Of course, I'll wait a few days for release when more people have it and card prices go down.  I'm not crazy!

I defeated Seath, a little bit ago. :D

I put on Havel's armor to fight him (since it's much better w/ protection from Curses and other things) - and had no problem taking him down, once I figured out how to damage Seath.

Once breaking the crystal in the back and began swinging at his tail - pretty much, I wrecked him. He barely did damage, except for his crystal attack.

It's amazing how sometimes - something can seem so hard at first; then be a bit or much easier once you figure out how to defeat the enemy and/or get some advice/guidance on how to battle a boss.

It's got no depth. It reminds me of Dragon Age. I'm just spamming A & X. It's not literally hot ass, but it's not interesting either.

In news completely unrelated to anything in the thread, the Battle Chess: Game of Kings dev realized halfway through the development that it really was a checkers game, not a chess game.  It is being reworked to Battle Checkers: Game of Queens.

I want your opinion on this. Is it terrible if someone buy a game a little after release date if they can afford it in their budget ; but then later down the road others get it for much cheaper. So my question is ; is money lost in the eyes of the beholder? Let's say for instance there is an RPG that has at least 30+ hours of main storyline game play. A hypothetical person sees it for only 50%off and wants to buy the game and can justify it due to amount of hours they will spend in it.

Though later down the road that same item goes 75%off. Overall is money wasted any if you look at both ends of the situation?

You have a point there. I am just saying though. I know there is one guy on youtube in particular that buys every new huge retail release that comes out on day 1 , usually buys multiple copies to give to twitch subscribers and plays on PC, Ps4 etc.. Then, he beats it normally as fast as he can to publish professional walk throughs on youtube. I am just saying it would benefit others if they did philosophize some enough to rationalize as to whether they should wait for a greater sale or at least till a game goes 30 or even 50% off. Its just based on gamers personal preferences though in my opinion.

All games get cheaper. But if I want a game enough to pay full (or near) MSRP then I play it as soon as possible. I don't care if a game gets cheaper if I've already gotten my enjoyment out of it. I do feel foolish backlogging a game and then seeing it for 25% of the price I paid months ago. That sort of goes back to the FakeyBro thing -- some people have genres they don't mind paying full price for because they know they'll be playing it right away.

My headphones have finally kicked the bucket. They're a Turtle Beach P11 set that I got off Toys'R'Us awesome clearance a while back for like ten bucks. I'm pretty sure I'll never be able to match that price again, the local Walmart has a set but they want sixty bucks for them and no.

These would still be good if only the volume box wasn't designed in such a way that the cable would eventually snap and not give a proper connection.

I don't understand people that pay $100 because of a brand name. Really, $100 for a Beats headset? Yeah... no.

Well here I think the way pretty much everybody operates is to not buy something until it's either in a bundle or 75% off, although everybody has their exceptions, like how a bunch of people just bought killing floor 2. Typically my pricepoint for a AAA game is 7.50 or less, unless it's something I really want to play, then I have no problem even paying full price for it.

I'm not really sure what you're getting at though, to be honest. Buy something if you want to play it and don't if you don't.

Sounds as though playing games is something of a business/income stream for him so buying games on Day One when they have maximum buzz is sort of the name of the game and wouldn't really apply to the people who hang out here.

Buy whatever games at whatever prices at your own discretion.

Some of us here have certain things we break the usual #CAGWorthy rules.

Could be games in certain genres, series, from certain developers, want to support a certain game finally hitting the PC for the first time ever, want to support a certain game finally hitting the PC that hasn't been here in year, or for whatever reason - to which we are willing to buy #FakeyBro style or at weaker discounts than we'd normally do so.

I think most of us here wait for 75% off sales or better or be hopeful a game winds up in a bundle (i.e. HumbleBundle, IndieGala, BundleStars, etc).

I have a tendency, when I actually do decide to #FakeyBro a game or buy at a weaker than 75% off discount to do so w/ RPG's - especially from Bethesda, BioWare, and CD Projekt. I love RPG's and if I'm dropping some coins, I want it to be a time-sink and a half.

When I do so - that game is in the "Play ASAP" club. If I'm dropping good coin on a game, I ain't gonna let it sit around and gather dust. If it gets a sale where it's cheaper than I paid for it and I still ain't touched it - well, then shame on me; I screwed-up.

OK, CAGers, have any of you guys bought from CDKeys.com? I'm on the fence about them. I want to buy Arkham Knight there but the trustworthiness seems questionable at best

If you buy a game for X amount of dollars, don't play it, and the game drops by 50% and you had an opportunity to get it, yes, you have lost money by buying it for X amount of dollars. If you played it, then no, no money wasted. Unless you hated the game. Then it's up in the air.

I appreciate the replies. I've made a list of primarily games I have not started and never played before yet; ones I spent quite a heavy sum of money on. Most were RPG's or Horror which are the two genres I usually am willing to dish out more money for anyways because I know its going to be worth my bucks.
