Does this mean that those who are not in the preview program need some sort of system update? I assume that would just be built into the disc, but I would love the BC to start working for other games even though i'm not in the preview program.

they install serperately so I dont think it would let you do other games but we wont know till tomorrow

 
Looks like they haven't flipped the switch on GoW yet.  Digital version is not showing up in "ready to install" and popping in my disc isn't working.

 
The Gears thing is pretty cool, but I think most of us already have 3 of those 4 games from GWG. Though if you missed out it's awesome. I kind of want them to add Gears 2 for GWG at some point still, not sure if I'll bother with Gears 1 on Xbone even if I get it this year.

 
Gears 1 360 is pretty dead and the online experience is a god and cheater filled lag-fest that's nigh unplayable. The big appeal of the remake is the 60 FPS and dedicated servers along with all the tweaks to a multiplayer the most hardcore always preferred. Not to mention the upres of assets, the added stuff in campaign, and the attitude of wanting to play the newer shinier version that's even shown up in this thread. This isn't going to affect most purchases unless you really were on the fence before.

 
The glitches and lag is kind of OG Gears 1 experience.

Crab walking and weapon sliding are like the basic stuff, but vital to competitive play.

I would imagine there are a decent number of people who are only (or mostly) interested in single player. Those people might be much less inclined to upgrade now.

$27 with GCU/$5 Rewards is a more than fair price for 4(or 5 games).
 
Yeah why would you want to play the older, muddier version when you can have the complete experience with way superior visuals. If its available and I'm given a choice I'm always gonna go with the nicer option, in anything in life.
 
Yeah I'm glad I used a Golden Crisp code to preorder mine, $30 is a solid deal for sure.

If date night isn't impressive tonight I'll probably by the AC IV season pass. Loaded up on Xbox credit thanks to the Golden Crisp code and $20 in other MS gift cards so it's cheap enough for me. Plus it's incentive to start a whole fresh play through :)

I wonder how much longer before they let everyone in on backwards compatibility? I hope they are not waiting till they have 100+ games ready to go because I kind of want to try it out now.

I've been playing Gears 1 for years. I can't wait for the UE!!

Online is fairly dead though now. And while the glitching and exploits were part of its charm, I'm just waiting for the new one. And still play some Gears 3. But not Gears 2. Gears 2 had a good campaign but that's it. Most disappointing game of all time for me.
 
As someone who prefers buying downloadable versions of games on my xbox one, I'm going to be a little upset if the free BC gears of war games are only for physical purchases of Gears remastered. I can see this being a code-based offer. Otherwise, you could just borrow a friends remastered disc to get the free BC games.

I'm just tired of getting shafted when it comes to buying downloads instead of physical. I don't feel bad if retailers "suffer" lower sales because of the digital era. There's plenty of other product they can sell.

From the way it's worded it's free to anyone who plays gears online in 2015. So I don't see why it wouldn't be digital too.

When the free stuff was given out for the MCC I had only played a rented disc version and I got the code for a one month and ODST so I could see them sending out codes. I guess it just depends on how generous they want to be.

Edit: Apparently I can't read and misunderstood what you were saying lol. But owners of the digital MCC got the free stuff as well just depends I suppose.

I just completed an achievement streak of 41 days as a tribute to my favorite basketball player Dirk Nowitzki.  His jersey number is 41 and the streak began on his birthday.  Idk why I'm sharing this but it has to do with gaming and achievements so why not?

I was like you but I couldn't wait any longer. I bought it shortly after Episode 2 came out, and I'm glad I didn't wait. It's rivalling TWD 1 as the best in terms of story telling. Miles better than what Tell Tale have been doing lately with their games.

Yep... I got them digitally as well except 2

I also have a 5 free rentals from RedBox after showing them God of War 3 Remasters was Corrupted and unplayable after a certain point (Which apparently is a common problem? http://imgur.com/a/jUOqu )

I'm looking forward to Gears UE.  I'm not a fan of the BC games because once I've finished a game's campaign, I usually move on.  Gears 3 MP is pretty fun still but I just imagine like most Gears MP users, I'd rather just migrate to the Gears UE MP anyway.  Still nothing to complain about as having the option to boot up Gears 3 MP on my One is still nice to have.  Hopefully it's just a code that's necessary to enable this?  I owned physical copies of the Gears trilogy and got rid of them with my 360 so it'd be cool to just get an all access code ala Halo ODST.
