This thread will attempt to provide a place to discuss past/present/future PC gaming deals. While mainly focusing on Steam games, any standout sales may also be presented. I will not be updating every Daily/Weekly/etc. sale. The tools to help individuals become a smarter shopper will be provided below.

See this POST for links to store sale pages, threads of interest and other tools to help you become a more informed PC game shopper.

Is the a "jobs wanted" forum now?

Great, would like to get a job in VRAM testing....make it happen toaster!
I have a feeling Destiny 1: Complete or Destiny 2 (without Destiny 1) might eventually be coming to PC.

Of course, it could be something else entirely they want to put on the PC.

We'll have to wait + see.

EDIT:

Given Destiny did cost a fortune to develop + market, it just seems like the logical place to put it - open it up to another market + platform, so they can make some more $.

You have zero interest in owning a console yet talk almost exclusively about console games...
I prefer playing games on my PC - always have (since 1995) and always probably will.

I prefer running my games w/ whatever hardware that I want to; running mods (if I can and if it's allowed); having choice of PC or KB/mouse (if optional); and prefer running games at 1080p @ 30 FPS/above 30 FPS/preferably 60 FPS.

And now that I can - "hell yes" @ running things at High, Very High and/or Ultra settings.

Speaking of BitTorrent bundles, there's also one that's been running for a while for the new series of Doctor Who. It's $12 for downloads of the following shows: Rose, The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances, The Girl in the Fireplace, Blink, The End of Time Parts 1 and 2, The Vampires of Venice, The Doctor's Wife, The Rings of Akhaten, The Day of the Doctor, Listen, and Doctor Who Earth Conquest - The World Tour. It's not a bad deal if you're too cheap/poor for the DVD/Blu-Ray sets, because five of these are really outstanding episodes.
But most of them are on Netflix (with S8 coming this month).

The Girl in the Fireplace is great, and Blink is arguably the best Doctor Who episode ever.

Those two, along with The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances, and The Doctor's Wife all won Hugos. I assume those are the five warreni means. Though Water of Mars is probably in my top three and isn't included (also won a Hugo).

Take up figure roller skating again
Doubtful.

Skating talk.

First off, it's been around 10 years since skating on a regular basis. I doubt I can throw all of the kind of (World Class level) content that I was throwing out back then (i.e. lots of triples, combos, & trick-spins).

IMHO, It's either freestyle skating or nothing for skating.

I have no interest in figures, loops, dance, or any other sort of roller skating.

And at my current age (34), most have already retired long ago from doing freeskating competitively.

Many retire from free-skating before I did (26).

They might coach, do other skating forms - if they stick with it.

Or they might move on to other stuff.

LOOKING FOR A JOB THAT PAYS ME MORE THAN MY CURRENT JOB BUT ALLOWS ME TO DO LESS WORK.  WILLING TO SELL MY GORGEOUS DAD BOD IF NECESSARY.

ALSO, MYSTERD YOU REALLY SHOULD GET A CONSOLE BRO YOU MISS OUT ON A LOT OF GAMES THAT NEVER GET PORTED AND YOU WOULD ENJOY.  I BET YOU WOULDN'T EVEN TELL THE DIFFERENCE IN GRAPHICS.

Go ahead: buy me a console + ship it to my house.

Only way it's going to happen, if the console ain't cheap enough to suit me.

Trust me, I'd notice the difference in graphics quality. I sit very close to my monitor - so, if a console version doesn't look as good as its PC counterpart, I'll certainly notice it.

You're using a budget GPU, I'm not sure if you'd notice it that much..

Edit:

On two semi serious notes:

1. Console exclusives have no PC version to look better. Console is the best they will get.

2. Do you at least use emulators as they come available to catch up on last gen stuff?

Hm. Actually Listen was far superior to The Doctor's Wife.

And not all cheapasses (*cough*) have Netflix.

They were pretty adamant about doing any PC version themselves, and not feeling comfortable about stretching to develop for 5 platforms at once. Even a late port like this would still mean 5 platforms since we're presumably getting another couple of DLCs for Destiny 1 after Taken King. Destiny 2 seems much more likely since I doubt 360 and PS3 will get versions this time, and they have to be working on it already.

If it is for a Destiny 1 port, they messed up by not announcing the $60 and $80 Taken King Bundles with all DLC for PC as well, along with all the other recent news. I just don't think it's coming at this point unless Activision demanded it, which I don't really see happening either.

The contract that leaked 3 or so years ago also said they are allowed to work on a Marathon game, though with less than 5% of the studio. I would say that could be the source of this too, but all 3 original games have free, open-source updates that make them playable on modern systems. I don't think Marathon 4 is likely, and a full blown remake of 1 or whatever would need more than 20 or 30 people working on it.

Why is this the most random thread I've ever found on CAG? Not complaining,... just making an observation. (and contributing to the abundant overflow of randomness)

Also, I gotta take some time and fix my PC -- missing out on some great Steam games lately!

if people would return to on topic conversations like wii u and bloodborne and shoes this place wouldn't seem so random

I dunno, this seems pretty random to me. I mean, people buying t-shirts at gamestop.. really???

B/c right now - Nuuvem, GamesPlanet, and GMG ain't tossing out any great deals, at the moment.

Those seem to be the ones lately tossing worthwhile deals out, of late.

I don't expect them every day to have insane deals - but, those are doing it better than most lately.

Does anybody really expect Gamersgate, D2D, Amazon or Steam to crank out awesome deals anymore?

Maybe, once in a blue moon, the way things go these days.

Gotta talk about something in here - whether shoes, soda, video games, Bill Murray, or whatever.

The alternative is alternating between asking and answering the same, mind numbingly simple questions over and over and over that could just as easily be answered by le google.

Hey guys, when the sale end? Hey guys when does the sale begin? Hey guys you think the game is gonna go on sale? Hey guys is this game worth it? Hey guys the OP said a thing...? Hey guys Fruitytanuki is the second coming. Hey guys what's an erection? Hey guys do I have enough vrams to play Skywitcher? Hey guys when does the sale end?

And my personal favorite, anything that begins with, "not to sound like a noob", and ends with, "but what does ES stand for?".

Seriously though what does ES stand for?

Gotchya. And for the record, I'm always down for some Bill Murray conversation! That guy rocks, though I don't think I'd really like to get him in the mail -- he'd probably be a bit ornery, and well, I don't think that'd be a good thing.

Yeah, but that seems to be ALL of CAG, especially the trade-in deal threads. Also, in my realm ES almost always stands for Elder Scrolls, so hopefully that's not wrong here. ;)

And can't believe I've never been on this thread before -- didn't notice til now that it was the PC mega thread. I guess that's what happens when your mobo or GPU fries and you have another child and don't get around to fixing it ever (the PC, not the child).

Did you say VRAM?

Your answer is incorrect, but acceptable.

And you're right, the majority of cag is run by console kiddies or, perhaps less offensively, people who simply do not grasp the concept of a living, thriving community, who instead choose to treat it as a sort of support chat, where every other member serves purely to answer their stupid, broken english, answered literally two posts ago questions.

There are recognizable, contributing members running about the console threads, but those threads are still largely made up of aforementioned specials.

The pc threads, as few as they are, are the exception. Largely, I imagine, because to be a pc gamer, you actually have to know and understand a thing or two about how your computer works. So, you know, at least kinda intelligent. Sorta. It's not as simple as throwing a tantrum until mommy runs out and buys you an xbone.

The majority of the chatter is done by a relatively tight-knit community, which leads to bullshit and vrams discussion, exclusively in that order.

Savage Lands... yay or nay? I have a nice group of friends to play with. It seems anyone can host a game, so that's a good thing.
I have it. I punched a skeleton 52 times before it died, then a wolf killed me and I quit. That being said if spoder bro and fox bro group has a game night with it I'm in for once.
