you are so out of it

I know you guys have just been itching for another long winded post about Mad Max.  I just played it, apparently for an hour, it didn't feel like an hour so that's a pretty good sign.  Need to charge up the old controller because driving with the keyboard is chore.  I had fun.  It's pushing the limit of my GFX card ability to keep up though, so this might be the last big new release I can partake in the sadpandabroing.  I definitely got some frames per second.  I can tell you that much.  I'm barely scratching the surface here on what the game is about and liking it.  Reminds me of my initial intro to Sleeping Dogs, so that's a good sign.  I say play it now, because playing it in a few months after having paid $5 really won't be the same.  It'll be old and stale and have mold and no one will care about your thoughts after you play it.

have you played Fallout 3 GOTY and what's your thought about it, compared to Mad Max?

Funny enough, I actually have, on PS3, where it played like crap. So I don't know if I could really give a fair assessment since I stopped after a short while. I have played a little of New Vegas on PC with no issues and just based on the little time I have played both, they feel like completely different games. Maybe someone who has played both more can elaborate better, but Mad Max feels like sort of frantic, action button smashy type game. Fallout is more of your RPG, slower, methodical game with more focus on exploration and story than running into enemies and killing the shit out of them.

FYI, Endless Legend isn't region locked.  Was $6-and-change for the Emperor Edition via PutinGate

I had a second GG account already with some blue coins so I bought 6,000 more normally then used a VPN to buy the game for BC.

I didn't read this. Who reads? Make Youtube videos out of your commentary if you want people to know what you're saying, Foxybro.

Also, scream "dios mio" and "FooooxyPieeee" as much as possible.

Mad Max and Fallout 3 have virtually nothing to do with one another besides a dull color scheme.  RPG versus action game, tongue-in-cheek retro-future setting versus gritty insanity, a hell of a lot of walking versus a hell of a lot of driving, etc.

I guess they both have a dog.

In other fakeynews, I just played maybe 5 to 10 minutes of Lego Worlds and may need to break my refund cherry.  I'll give it another hour and read up some guides on it, but totally doesn't feel like what I thought it would be.  I spent the time running around punching horses and monkeys until they died.  And then collecting lego coin/sprocket whatevers like in a regular Lego game.  In fact, it felt a lot like playing just a random Lego game but with no purpose.  It has editors but honestly I prefer the mining/building elements more than just being able to paint a world.  We'll see if I warm up to it.

Funnily enough Kimmel also mentioned this in a video. He said it wasn't like watching someone else playing football... but that it was like watching someone else play fantasy football.

Again, he's probably being a dick for the page views.
The problem with that analogy though is the only real "action" in fantasy football is the draft/auction. And people *do* watch other people 'play' those out. ESPN, NFL Network (and I believe Fox Sports) have entire shows centered around 'mock drafts', where you watch other people fake-pick players for their fake-football game. Most would say that they do it as 'research', but I'm sure there are some who watch 'for entertainment purposes only. (These also come in print and on the radio).

As for arcades, even though it existed, I dont remember 'spectating' before the Street Fighter II era. Yeah it was mostly just waiting for your turn. SF2, you'd watch to peep another's weakness. Around that time too, I remember a great communal spectating of two guys committed to beating Smash TV. Many quarters were spent and there was great rejoicing when the final boss was defeated.

But I'm sure they were doing that with pinball back in the '50's too.

Got around to playing Bioshock 1 after putting it aside out of boredom many years ago.  I finally get that awful 'would you kindly' internet meme.  Don't know if I'll finish.  Game sort of drags.  I can only bash so many things with a wrench before I get tired of it.

Ummmmm...you have plasmids and other weapons besides the wrench.

Yeah, but the wrench works the best. Shock + bash kills everything but Big Daddies. Plus I hack nearly every turret/camera I come across. I find the guns fairly clunky.
But if you're bored w/ the combat b/c you just keep wrench-shocking everything easily which could get repetitive as hell and make the game ultra-easy for you, why don't you just experiment w/ different combo's of weapons + plasmids?

That's a good deal of the fun w/ Bioshock series, anyways - mixing, matching, and experimenting w/ all kinds of combo's of weapons + plasmids.

EDIT:

Maybe you need some kind of difficulty increase mod or something?

I never tried it, but here's one:

Despite my love for the Bioshock franchise, I also think the first game drags out. But that was a part of gaming back in the noughties; they were all pretty long with more mandatory game play and less of the optional side mission type of shitty story-telling. Bioshock is much longer than Bioshock Infinite, with more of a focus on suspense and mystery and less on action. It's worth playing, though--definitely one of the best games of the last decade.

So far Mad Max is how you release a game. I put everything to max pressed new game and everything ran at 144fps without any drops. I have to work tomorrow but will play more to see if it stays this way. Batman Arkham Knight are you listening this is how you launch a game (2fps on Batmobile sections seriously that is a shame) and I preordered that garbage.

Greatest game of all time.  If I had a choice to preserve one of the following for future generations against the threat of destruction via floods/earthquake/alien invasions:

1) Ken Levine's magnum opus, Bioshock 1.

- or -

2) The collective teachings of Mahatma Gandhi.

Without a doubt... it would be Bioshock.

I also think the game drags just a bit, but I really liked it. A lot of people bash the gameplay/shooting of the bioshock titles but I think it's more than good enough. Really though, it's just refreshing to see Mooby finally find something negative to say about a game.

ARK has wasted my life since that free weekend.....ugh

65hrs already o_O What a loser.
So what do you do exactly? Just run around chasing dinosaurs?

I just booted up Cities Skylines for like 10 minutes and am not regretting that purchase even though I have no clue what I'm doing. God was I starting an ugly city and ran out of money and couldn't afford power lines to get people electricity. But despite having no clue what i was doing (it does have hints and stuff, I'm just dense with these sort of games) I could still tell it was really well made. Zooming in on the street level was sweeeeet and I've seen some mods that let you get even closer to the action I think.

Edit: Just trying to say that spectating started waaaaaay before Dragon's Lair came along. :p
It was a bad joke on my part. Dragon's Lair was kind of known for being a game in which you largely watch it play out, interspersed with random clicks and joystick taps.

And while it's true that those additional monitors on top of the cabinet existed, they were largely unused (at least in my own experience) until Street Fighter 2 rolled around. I remember crowds gathering around those machines. Yes, they were waiting for their turn, but they were also watching to learn and for the entertainment value.

I am kindly installing Bioshock Infinite so I can be blown away 10/10 Game of the Equinox.
I can't think of a game in recent memory that I was as let down by as I was with Infinite.

So... maybe you'll like it.

In non game related news: I was in a restaurant today and I heard some girls saying something about a "gay bear" and then giggling hysterically. It wasn't until I was driving away that I realized they were talking about me, so I think it's probably time to shave this lumberjack beard I've got.

Don't let them get you down or stereotype you. You can be a big, bearded power bottom if you want.

Spent 5 hours today building a base that can house my dinosaurs and materials -.-

Need to tame a Rex this weekend.

You should just play Mad Max.  It's pretty much the same game, except if all the oceans boiled away and instead of plasmids you had harpoons and inside of the Big Daddys were War Boys and the Ayn Rand sounding guy was a car-scripture quoting hunchback.

Bioshock series isn't open-world, though.

I'd also guess Bioshock does a much better job of storytelling, narrative, character development & voice-acting. This stuff was never Avalanche's specialty - i.e. see both Just Cause games.

Avalanche's specialty is open-world games with awesome action + ultra-fun game-mechanics.

I started Infinite a couple days ago - after about 2.5 hours I've spent 70% of the time stealing money and food from people, 20% watching cinematics or chasing Elizabeth around, and 10% in combat. The combat is great when it happens, then it's over all too quickly and I'm back to another 20 minutes of cutscenes and looting. Overall this game is trying way too hard to emphasize the story (which is interesting, but it shouldn't compromise or slow down the gameplay this much). Hopefully there's more meat along the way.

I liked Bioshock Infinite a lot, but I'm not a hipster gay bear who found the incredibly racist atmosphere too risque. ;)

Brut would love the game. All of the workers are black people, and they have their own toilets.
