People like that are one of the main reasons I stopped playing L4D -- and competitive games, in general.. It's a tremendously fun game, but it's ruined by the fact that you have to play with real people.

I'd be down with some bro4D or Killing Bros though.

They don't know about opening dev console and typing in "status" and then "voice_mute #" to just mute the guy.

But yeah there are a lot of guys who are like that in the game, so we should do like a group game or friends only. :p

I thought there was an option to mute people in the menu.

I'd be up for a game or two. TF2, as well.

Same, never wanted to play with pubs/randoms to begin with, but stopped even playing them in a community used to be a part of, because too many people took that shit way too seriously. L4D1 was the best over there, and the one I played most often, after BF2 finally bit the best (because people weren't uber competitive in either, could actually have fun). L4D2 was fine until CS:S people (again, at least over there) started playing and it became a game of getting yelled at if you screwed up or didn't take things super serious.

Only time L4D2 was ever fun again, was when the former BF2 clans decided to have drunk L4D2 nights, L4D2 with a bunch of drunks is quite fun.

For the record, I still figure anyone who plays CS a fair bit is probably a major asshole in games, til proven otherwise.

One of the main draw to MOBAs for me are the ragers. They've never bothered me and tend to make the games more entertaining for me.

Why don't we have a game night on a MOBA? Smite, HotS, LoL or Dota2? Play something this old man can be decent at. They're all free!

The Lizard is right. It's an incontrovertible fact that the more hours someone puts into CS:GO the bigger their asshole becomes. I think that's how it goes.

I assume you put forth some first hand 'inspection' to make such a claim. Must have been quite an experiment.

Really angry at myself and Ubisoft. Forgot to back up my Black Flag gamesaves when I cleaned my hard drive to install Windows 10, thinking that it had Uplay cloud backup, which it actually doesn't anymore. So now I'm trying to import random save games off the internet, and I find out that the save games are encrypted to one's Uplay account and so I can't just drag and drop some random save games. Most of the save games from the internet are from pirated versions of the game, which are different from legit ones and can easily be used on a pirated copy. Now that is truly an example of pirates getting extra convenience in game save powers, compared to legit users. Not surprising considering the title of the game after all.

Ouch... No Spain, why no love for Spain!!!!!???
I'll be honest, I've been to quite a few places in Europe and it's scary when I like a country like Slovenia more than I cared for Spain or Italy.

I will say there are a few exceptions (example, I liked Mallorca.. but Cartegena was terrible; I loved Florcence but I saw a women literally shitting on the side of the road in Naples). Slovenia was fantastic compared to those nightmares. France had a bunch of snobs (who I could literally punch in their face if they didn't reek).

Europe in general... I dunno, it's not that I didn't like it, just... it has so much history that it's kinda up there as far as wonder and when you get there it smells like poo (Venice).

Greece was beautiful.. the rate that countries going I'll be able to buy a whole island there for a couple of bucks.

I missed the British Isles and northern Europe. I hope to go back, but the Med.. I dunno.... just disappointing.....

.... kinda like the Steam sales lately (there we go.. got that soap box back onto topic)

What do you think this is, a mahjong forum? I'd rather center my strategies around being young and having quick reflexes, not sitting in front of a spire shooting minions until spoder stealth-spoders my health and I have to run away like an Idiot and abandon the strategy it took ten minutes to come up with. Also, who clicks to move? Clicking is so outdated. We all use arrow keys to move.

Pfft. Smite uses WASD or arrows. Could even play it on the XB1 or with a controller if you can't handle all that.

Dirty Bomb is F2P as well. Stop making excuses and come get some of this. I have the L4Ds but I'll only play if I can be on Blade's team. There seems to be a lot of troll potential.

On Italy at least and probably other countries too it really depends greatly on where you go. Some of the famous big cities can be surprisingly trashy and a lot of times the tourist traps really aren't the best ways to experience those countries.

I had a good time there but I also have relatives to show me around so there's that. But I think if you do like some of the Rick Steeves type of stuff it can be a nice time vs just going to 'famous' spot.

I was pretty eh on Rome mostly but I had a nice time in Sicily. Saw a lot of places I wouldn't have otherwise known about and had amazing food.

If all else fails head to the coast as it's generally nice there than the big cities.

We had an Awesomenauts night once. That's a MOBA isn't it? That one was pretty fun.

I'm a GOD today. I won every game I played online. Played some LoL, Smite, Heroes of the Storm and Hearthstone. Must be the fridge, VRAM and new monitor has brought it all together.

Stop doing mainland Western Europe. Head to Poland or the Czech Republic and get some incredibly cheap beer down you. Prague is a bit of a mess these days, but Brno was outstanding. Also, Kraków was wonderful. Apparently it's because the Nazis occupied it and had their offices there, which explains why it's so un-touched. Unlike, say... HULL.

*runs for air-raid shelter*

Edit: I liked Rome even though they ripped us off twice, Barcelona is a shit-tip, Madrid was fab and Paris was surprisingly forgettable.

If you ever make it over here and want to do something that isn't London but features beer, I heartily recommend the Transpennie Real Ale Trail (http://www.realaletrail.net) via train. Start at one end, drink pint, get on train, get off at next station, repeat seven times.

My ancestry is Polish-Bohemian so I'd be all for that except that my wife never dreamed of going to Poland for her honeymoon and I don't speak Polish. She speaks English, Spanish and a little Italian (among others) and, ironically, found it more successful to speak Spanish with an Italian accent in Italy than to try and speak Italian. The languages are close enough that she could almost always fake it. I'm not saying that no one "knew" but that we managed to order food, find our hotel(s) and get directions to the train station and that's what matters.

Finished Mad Max last night. Game of the Month, Screenshot Generator of the Year.

Has anyone here used Games Rocket before?

http://www.gamesrocket.com/

Just curious because I have seen some decent deals from there sometimes.
I bought it at games rocket. One thing I don't mind are my MMO's not being steam. TSW never got cheap enough on steam for me to pick it up....and it was never as cheap as que MysterDerp, "that time it was 5.xx at GMG ;)"
So I bought Elder Scrolls online from the Nazi's over at gamesrocket....my order is still processing with an estimated arrival time of 5-15 minutes and I purchased it over 24 hours ago.

They even had some shitty phone verification after I ordered it that I completed, got an email that said I was verified...

Maybe they run on nazi time, or they are warming up some sausage

Any opinions on Elite: Dangerous for $27 on Steam? Seems like a great price.

Has anyone payed both the XBONE and PC versions?

Curious if I should go PC route or wait until PS4 (not sure a release date has even been announced).

My opinion is for something that was release about 6 months ago if you didn't get it by now you might as well wait for a better sale than 40%.

But since it sounds like you come from the console world that might be a decent sale to you, don't know.

I don't think many of us here have it. I have most of the regulars here on my Steam friends and doesn't seem like any of them have it with any significant time spent in it.

No and no.

I normally wait for killer sales at 75% off or better or it's dirt-cheap in a bundle.

Only games you might see me break that rule on is something I am very highly anticipating. Often for me, that means it's a time-sink RPG that likely might be made by Bethesda or BioWare.

EDIT:

Daily Deal
75% off Prince of Persia Complete Pack (Tagés) - $14.99
Ewwww @ Tages.

I'd rather own most of the older PoP games (which don't have UPLAY attached to them) on somewhere like say Steam, if going digital w/ those.

I think Forgotten Sands was the only PoP that forced UPLAY onto it.

Thanks! Yup, coming from the console world. I recently setup a steambox mainly to play indie games not available on the console and emulators. Elite looks very interesting. I love space flight games and consoles have very few.

$27 is a solid price from the perspective of a console gamer :p I haven't seen the price dip much for this on either Steam or websites like g2a.

On the fence as whether to get the PC version or wait for the PS4 version. I suspect the console port will be gimped, but I usually prefer playing games on a console... Might just bite on the PC version. Interesting that few people have it around here. It seems to have gotten pretty positive reviews and fills a niche that is lacking in new titles.

I have some friends who play the pc version and love it. They also dont have any problems with it

That being said the main issue with this sale is its a last ditch on their part to grab money before the dlc comes out. Their DLC policy is that you get the base game (and possibly all previous dlc) when you purchase the latest one. So you can either buy the base game now for 27+dlc price at launch, if they continue the pre-owner discount it comes out to be 70something.

Or you can wait for the dlc to launch, buy it at 45 or 60 (whatever price they land on) and you will get the dlc+base game. You could even pre-order the dlc now but you wont be able to play the base game until the dlc is launched

Unless you plan on pouring tons of hours into Elite right now and know what you're getting into game-wise, I'd say avoid. While the reviews are strong generally for it, its not a casual game.

Thanks! That's great to know. I'll definitely hold off then.

As the archbishoptheedge said, it seems like a game that requires many dedicated hours, which I don't have right now anyway.
