I mean, they have the same creative roots. But I was more speaking to the throwing of an insane budget at a new sci-fi FPS (or any FPS, really), then having everyone just go "it's not Halo." Whatever was put out would have been compared to Halo, especially with the dev talent from that series involved. Better to ride the coattails of success than just get aimless complaints over brand loyalty for the franchise, I suppose.

Oh ok. Well they could have had them move away from the sci fi genre and just made a whole new shooter altogether. I kept forgetting this game was coming out and have my LE pre order waiting for pick up but no real desire to get it tonight. I think halo is getting stale and it's time to move on for a while personally but whatever sells will be produced more so I expect a halo 6 in two years.

I haven't had any trouble checking my points, and have done so everyday for the past week or so. On the account homepage, it's now called Rewards History, instead of Purchase History.


Edit: just checked again to make sure I wasn't mistaken. On the Account homepage, under Points Available, click See Your Rewards History. It actually didn't load the first time, but after I hit refresh it popped right up.

does everyone's BB do start midnight releases when they say online?

Store opening times: 9:01 p.m. PT, 10:01 p.m. MT, 11:01 p.m. CT, 12:01 a.m. Tuesday morning ET.

My best buy doesn't open till 12 central time when it's suppose to be 11. I remember when BB first started doing this last year around Duty and everyone in line was like wtf they were suppose to be open at 11. I just figured it's something new maybe don't know about it yet but just called and they said they don't open till 12.

The next best buy a little further does it at 11 should of just pre ordered there.

This will be my first BB Midnight release. Supposed to be at 11 PM CT as well. But called and told me 12 AM. Odd too because I was in store the other day and was told it'd be 11 PM..........

 
Well my Best Buy just called me to inform me that they didn't get their limited edition shipment so I can't pick it up tonight. I have to wait until tomorrow.

But they are going to give me 20 bucks off for the inconvenience. I didn't even say anything they just straight up offered it to me. So with GCU the limited edition will end up costing me 60.

Worth it I guess ? I was actually really excited to play tonight though lol

I would think the same thing as well. I went at 11 anyways and was able to get my game. They did have problems with dot com order though. Apparently the system was new and it kept glitching. So I wasn't able to pick up my preorder, but instead bought a new copy and said they could adjust it later.

They always do that, they pushed a new one during the first Destiny launch and they had to fill out an OMS order pickup form by hand and put it in later.

Funny thing is, the lady mentioned doing that as well. She also told us that it has happened on another launch too. Either way, it's not smart of Best Buy pushing new system updates on nights like these.

I didn't go because a friend wanted to go to an MS store since they were talking about having a bunch of giveaways etc and it was pretty shitty, they gave out mini posters, a license plate cover and a sticker. I have a feeling others stores had much better stuff

They have it in. They had 2 of them on the counter at my store, but the guy said that all were pre-orders, no extras. I wasn't getting it, I just asked out of curiosity.

 
was at bb for 9pm pacific time local pickup.  Yes the online pick up system is mess up.  I just bought a copy to play now and will use my pickup copy tomorrow for return.   Got the swag bag with a paper mask and mini artbook.

I know that. I was just wondering if anyone in general got theirs. I have not seen one post about someone getting theirs. I assume some CAGs did in store preorders instead of online. So they should have gotten theirs since the in store preorders went off without a hitch.

Not yet. Just so you know, I have the Best Buy e-mail for the Forza 6 pre-order stuff in my inbox. I didn't get the e-mail until 3:37 PM that day, though I probably picked that one up around that time in the afternoon. Still, it says on the site me Halo 5 is ready for pickup on the rewards account, so it probably hasn't processed yet.

No, it goes off of time, if you place an order at 12:01AM on Tuesday 10/27, the release day of the game, then the system probably won't automatically give the points out. You're purchasing the game, not pre-ordering it, the system takes about 30 minutes to change the item page.

Enuf used to say as long as it said pre-order when you go and order it you can fight to get the cert.

Enuf said alot of things though.

 
FYI, for all of you that placed an online order for store pickup and instead just bought a copy while you were there because the system is borked and want to return that game later, I would double-check that you don't get the $10 RZ bonus cert on the copy you buy in-store instead of your original order.  If that's the case, then don't even go in to pick up your original order and it will auto-cancel after seven days.

But if you got it 50% in May the order might automatically update to full prices for the rest of the items on order.
