I was impressed, til I realized I'm nearing year 12.

meh anything much older than 5 or 6 years isn't even worth counting. It was just crappy DRM you were forced to tolerate if you wanted to play Valve games back when Valve actually used to make games.

I'll never forget buying a physical copy of Half-Life 2. It forced me to install steam and then download the game (or was it just a patch maybe?). What a fucking nightmare it was. Especially since I was on dial-up back then. Had to Leave the computer on for two days for it to download which sucked, especially since it was right next to my bed...

I only got the account because I'd picked up a huge binder full of CDs for like four bucks, and it had Half-Life in it. I needed to get the latest patch... and it was only available through Steam.

I'm nearing 11 years in a few months. I'd technically be part of the first year if I didn't switch to this one in 2005. The original account I had my friend made it for me and that was the time when we were playing the original CS. I didn't feel like using it as a main back then since it was his account, but now it became my Alt. I haven't seen him in years so I was still able to log in and changed the password to it. =P~

Okay so if I want Magic 15 (bla bla it sucks etc etc who cares I probably won't play it) and I just want content and not sparklies and shit just buy the base and the expansion?

I really hate that you need a degree in astrophysics to figure out which shit to buy for each Magic year so you don't get tricked into buying cheats and sparkles.
Could be worse. You could try to play in paper. Which I don't suggest if you like money.

I was trying to figure that out earlier myself. From what I could make out, you only need the base game and Garruk's Revenge. The rest are progress unlocks.

Pretty sure this is correct. I don't think 2015 "sucks" per se, just that it wasn't as good as 2014. So if you were only going to get one, 2014 Gold is the way. But you already have that so go wild buying whichever else.

Looking at the 2015 content, yeah, the Theros, Innistrad, etc packs just unlock the cards you'd naturally get from doing those campaigns. Only Garruk adds new content.

So that was quick, this shitty Jäsøn 'game' went live for Early Access this morning, dev was arguing with a bunch of people about it, had a meltdown, deleted all forum posts, people complained the 'game' was copyright infringement (dev seriously tried to argue that "Jäsøn" was completely different than Jason) and even worse was really just a bunch of PDF design documents, Valve yanked it.

I guess no collector's item for anyone. Except Pinkgun/7Extonly who buys everything.

Anyway there's some draaaaama left in the comments for the one and only review which I guess the dev couldn't delete.

It keeps going too because dev is one of these types

I wasn't a huge fan of 2015 either. I also quite disliked Garruk's Revenge. The story was just pretty garbage in this edition and I think I finished both campaigns in 2 days maybe? Only cool thing was fully editable decks I believe.

That's why when console people SCREAM about how much they hate digital and it is an abomination and the worst thing to ever happen in human history and they will NEVER go digital upon pain of death I'm all

With some effort the paper game isn't terribly expensive especially if you are playing casually with some friends. I'm too lazy myself, but the market for some of the mythics in particular is pretty strong. The only card I sold off was a Zendikar Expeditions Godless Shrine, and that was $40 going the lazy far less value store trade route.
Yeah, and playing videogames is cheap if you play 2 generation old consoles, only play free apps on your $50 Fire and only play Flash games and bundle games on your 5 year old PC.

My god. What a douche. This guy deserves to be fired... out of a cannon! Not for copyright infringement, not for wiping his ass on some notepads and putting it on Steam, but for just simply being a gigantic pus-boil on the ass of humanity. Cannon ready to be fired!

Thankfully, the smarter ones realized digital is pretty cool as soon as Xbox Gold and Playstation Plus started giving them games each month, and Nintendo did that Humble bundle.

Yay carrot method! Seriously, pile enough good games in front of me for dirt cheap and I'll run almost any client. (Not you, Uplay. Get Bent.)

Looks like dedicated servers and mods on the PC port of BlOps 3. Was gonna just get it on console but considering how much of a good job they appear to have done with the port, I think I'll get it on PC now. Can't beat the $43 GMG deal plus I don't play with friends much anymore.

Wait, Valve used to make games!?

...see, it's not just me, even this dinosaur is surprised.

Hey guys, this guy ripped off my project. It's called Jays0n and it's a series about a guy who died when his band camp counselors were having the dirty and he choked on his own flute and then his mom got all mad and started killing them for being floozies while wearing a lacrosse goalie mask. I'm selling it in early access right now and you get a link to this post for buying early.

i am too. i thought i installed steam when hl2 released but when i checked ES it said i joined November 17, 2003, and i'm like, "wtf was i playing on steam before half life released?" and i guess the only answer is cs, cuz wikipedia says it was mandatory at the time and i'm like "man fuck cs 1.6!"

Bethesda knows modders will fix their graphics and their UI and make weapons for them and balance the game and fix the glitches and make new characters and improve the character models and the weapon skins and the quest dialog and the lighting and the progression and the story and the everything.

makes you wonder why they bother even paying their developers and testers to make the game at all. they should just start having people pay 60 bucks to work at bethesda

I think graphics/art style are fine but I really don't like the HUD in the game. It's just...ugly. It doesn't look like it meshes right. Like some amateur took screenshots and typed over it on powerpoint or something
The UI for Fallout has always been ugly. Good thing on PC, that there may be mods to change it

bc there would be no game without developers and testers, obviously
