Not regretting the pass on FO4 for $30.  It's an okay game but one that seems to be in dire need of modding and at least a hint of what the DLC is going to contain.

On the flip side, I'm having a lot of fun in FO4 but probably would be annoyed had I paid over $30 for it.  Thirty bucks was its Day One sweet spot for me.

I bought Rocket League (granted, GMG), but that was worth it.  Undertale, either ruined for me by the 'meta' or being just tepid, wasn't something I should have spent money on.  Both similar in price. *shrug*

Also, The Long Dark is amazing.  I've had fun playing it, but also watching some dude on YouTube narrate it.  I thought I was not apart of the "let's watch some dude play a video game for hours" crowd, but oops?

Some of y'all with backlogs in the 1000s is something I can't fathom, but I have one of over 500.  I guess that's dampened my sale excitement some.  Discounts suck more, but the install base for Steam is so massive now in comparison to those early days when we all bought that game and this game because ZOMG 90% OFF!  Hyped games will sell with a smaller discount to a "big enough" pool of players and that's what's important for the bottom line.

So we can grumble with our bundle copies of Indie Trash 34: Revenge of the Pixel-Voxels that we got for $0.01 into HumbleBundles, but that's not gonna change the game for the newbies.

Edit:  I like FO4 way more than Undertale.  I need to play more FO4...

Eh, people with libraries in the 1000s have piles of bundle crap and IndieGala freebies. It's not as though anyone is sitting around here saying "Damn, I wish CrossCode and Oil Rush were on sale..." The titles people got excited for were always the major publisher titles and exceptional indie games, not the chance to get Roogoo for 14¢.

Thanks to Motoki for showing me the ways of Putin'in in GG. Couldn't pass Shadow or Mordor at that price. In other news, I've started playing Hots so whoever is playing it and wants to laugh at my noobness add me. My id is the same as here, which is the same as steam, and everywhere else.

Sorry if I hyped it too much. I enjoyed it a lot and a lot of you are really dumb but steering someone into a game they dislike is a personal wound to me all the same.

Plus, I think Undertale has to resonate with you for you to like it. I can argue the technical expertise of Streets of Fury or Downwell all day, and I don't think Undertale is a slouch in that regard, but what makes it great is personal and is not even close to universal across multiple people. I should have made that clear and did not.

Just an interesting tidbit - Shovel Knight is 1.5 years old, hasn't been discounted more than 33%*, and hasn't been bundled.

It's not unsurprising given how successful and popular the game has been, but still kind of amazing. Yet, I'll probably wait for Shovel Knight and Undertale to be in the $1 tier of a Humble weekly because I'm insane.

*excluding secret Newegg AMD Silver reward promo 8 months ago that lasted for 6 minutes

Well duh, that's like every Bethesda game ever.

Doesn't mean you can't still have some fun with them, muck around with some mods and try more of them every so often as new ones come out.

I think Shovel Knight still has two or three content packs "promised" from the Kickstarter. It probably won't drop until SK is "complete".

Given how long Plague Knight took, and how much EFFORT went into it, they can't possibly be making money off these content packs though. I don't know what they were thinking with Plague Knight. Are they really going to do something that transformative with King Knight or whoever else was on the KS lotto?

wat. CrossCode is so out of place in ur post. Indie games aren't all the same, Syntax Error! y u discriminate.

I didn't discriminate, nublet.  Y u want spezial tretmnt 4 crusscudes?

you're right though. I just picked a few random titles. Why do I own Crosscode?

Why didn't you guys pre-order a Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Edition for $119.99 from Amazon back in June? Only to sell the collectible Pip-Boy and it's case (that you probably never wanted) for $195 on eBay (to someone that HAD to have it), but keep the steel case and Steam key for yourself? Then it's like you're being paid to play Fallout 4. Did anyone do this?

I will never admit to having or not having done this.

So I couldn't sleep. I thought I would get up and check out Shadow of Mordor, which I started playing last night. I wasn't enjoying the Steam controller, so I thought I would switch to the 360 one and see how that played. I have the game running, my 360 controller isn't working well (ancient, need to buy new battery), I switch the driver on the 360 controller because the game didn't recognize it.

So then I restart.

And NOW Shadow of Mordor is saying it needs to be reinstalled. All I can guess is it's because I restarted the computer with the game running, but that's no damn excuse. Game takes 6 hours to install at least. So much for playing the game before work. :wall:

Also tell me about Long Dark. A survival game with actual survival and not lame ass minecraft crap and grind sounds pretty cool but then I remember it will still be a survival game so there's probably not much point beyond the initial spectacle.

Also what deal is there on it?

Yeah, that's a totally valid point. Undertale does have a ton of buzz and it'll probably ride that wave into a late 2016 bundle. I've bought a number of games because I just wanted to play them now. I think many people feel the same about various games and genres. I'm considering GTA V as well for the exact same reasons.

Those are the games that are going to sell well, regardless.
if u do decided to get gta v, msg me on steam n we can do some heists.

Verify the game files, maybe?

Must need more VRAM. [shrug]

All roads must come to an end. Binding of Isaac Rebirth is one excellent game though.

Can I have your save game? I'd like to be a 1001% too. (Does it still work this way? Wasn't this the one we did for the Steam Sale achieve a few years back?)

Voiced by femshep. That's all you really need to know, although she doesn't say much beyond making shivering noises. It's a nice looking, atmospheric game, but it's totally a walking simulator. Go to that thing in the distance, chew on some reeds, hope those wolves don't notice the only other moving thing in the world, collect batteries and firewood, etc etc. But, if you NEED a survival game and don't want to slum it with the general public, this one is better than all the others I have tried. Not going to get hundreds of hours out of it though.

Also, everyone pondering GTA V: Let's Brolovefist it up! Even Blade should get it so he can fill his custom playlist with awful music and annoy the fuck out of everyone.

Re: Tales from the Borderlands. You don't 'play' it, you sit there and watch and sometimes hit button every ten minutes.
The telltale games are ones where you can just go on youtube and watch a cutscenes compilation or a Let's Play and don't lose much. You get to avoid the boring QTEs (silly youtuber has to do it for you! hah!), skip/fast-forward thru the scenes/dialogue which you find boring and save some $$ while you're at it.

Someone agreeing with Mooby.. seems suspicious. Mooby's alt account?

You're review is completely opposite of everyone else's I have heard about The Long Dark...and the "overwhelmingly positive reviews" on Steam.

It's the only actual survival game. The rest are not true survival...more like farming and building games.

I must admit I'm tempted to buy it this sale also... (Granted, bro nights I work so I wouldn't be able to do that stuff.)

Because I already have a job.

Pretty sure I was giving a positive impression with a few qualifications, but sorry for not finishing my little blurb with "Froze to death 10/10."

FYI on Descent I & II, they're probably going to get yanked soon. Burger Becky hasn't been making her payments.

http://www.gog.com/forum/general/descent_12_descent_3_removed_from_sale/post142

Hey, Folks. Here's the story.

Parallax Software still exists and still owns the copyrights to the Descent games. Under our 21-year-old agreement, Interplay has the exclusive rights to sell Descent and Descent II, and they have been doing so on Good Old Games and Steam.

The problem is that Interplay has not paid to Parallax any royalties since 2007. We've talked to them about this numerous times over the years, and finally took action this fall. We served Interplay official notice that they were in breach of the contract, and when they still failed to pay we terminated the agreement.

This means that Interplay has lost the right to sell the Descent games, which is why they came down from GOG. (We're not sure why they're still on Steam; they shouldn't be.)

Interplay does, however, still own the Descent trademark, which they are free to use or license as they see fit (such as for Descent: Underground) as long as they don't violate our copyrights.

As for whether Descent and Descent II will be available for purchase again, we hope so. We'd be very happy to work things out with Interplay.

It was buyable with vpn a month ago. Just try it. Worst that could happen is it doesn't work. The Brazilian Mafia's not going to come to your house and capoeira your ass.
One of two things happened:

1 - My family is dead and I'm on the run. I barely made it out with my life. That Martial Arts: Capoeira game did not adequately prepare me for the bloodthirstiness of the Nuuvem assassins. This may be my last communication - too risky to use the internet. Thanks for the recommendation, moran.

2 - It worked no problem. I used Vypr VPN. Thanks for the recommendation! So the big question is, how can I tell what else is doable through Nuuvem, and what is locked or blocked? For instance, what about the Rockstar games? Pillars of Eternity?

It's a single player survival game. You vs the elements. No zombies, but there are wolves and the occasional bear. Right now, the game is Early Access and features 'sandbox' mode where you try to stay alive as long as possible. Starting early next year, they plan to release story mode. They are aiming for 2-3 hour episodes that complete a season. Price is $9.99 on Steam right now during the sale but will get more expensive after it leaves early access. They update the game a lot.

GTA V is non Steam. Paradox stuff is unfortunatelty South America region locked now. They might still have some ROW keys to burn through but I wouldn't risk it.

There's not a lot left at Nuuvem that's neither Paypal nor region locked I'm afraid.

So Steamgifts can be dumb sometimes. I got suspended for not activating a gift I won... in January 2015... that I never received... wut?

It was one of those were they were supposed to add me as a friend and send it to me, never happened. So, great.
