This thread will attempt to provide a place to discuss past/present/future PC gaming deals. While mainly focusing on Steam games, any standout sales may also be presented. I will not be updating every Daily/Weekly/etc. sale. The tools to help individuals become a smarter shopper will be provided below.

Do you know if the castevania stuff and cities skylines is still good to go on Nuuvem? I was reading it was a few months ago. Have about 90 Real worth of crap in my cart atm.

If you marked it as received without getting it that will happen. You may have been ratted out from someone you won a game from recently since there's people that will check that stuff on sgtools.

I bought castlevania 2 the other day and just needed a VPN until paypal. Bought the other castlevanias from there a while ago, but I'm guessing they'll still work.

That's what's weird, I wouldn't have marked it if I didn't get the chat msg with the key. I reached out to the guy who ran the giveaway but no such luck yet. The fact that it's a year old is what gets me. I had no idea that I even had something unclaimed. I think this was before their site redesign so that may have something to do with it.

 
Ok. I have some wallet money to burn and I'm thinking of grabbing one of these:

- Endless Legend
- dungeon of the endless + (Necrodancer or doorkickers or transistor)

I surely will keep playing ARK and nothing else... But want to burn that $10 on my wallet on something that at least I know is good. I love 4X but I'm already playing FE:LE (which made me stop playing Eador... Which made me stop playing Civ V...)

Opinions?

Hey, didn't know that. To buy the game I did turn off VPN but before that I guess I did log in while in Russia so that might be the reason. Thanks for clarifying.

Steps:

WITHOUT VPN:

Log in, buy the blue coins you need to buy game.

Log out.

Then I usually use an incognito window to make sure I am logged out.

Turn on VPN
Go to GG
Add game to cart
Turn off VPN

Then log in and purchase with blue coins.

Thanks, yeah, I did everything fine during the buying process. I just logged in before that for no reason, didn't know the lock thing.

 
I use a separate account for GG Putinpurchases although, honestly, if they banned my account I'd just start another account.  It's not like Steam where it'd be a big hassle to have games split between accounts.

I just buy my coins without VPN and then use a VPN for the whole purchase, using a separate browser for all my VPN dealings.  So it's buy BC via Firefox, turn on VPN then buy game via Chrome.  Haven't had a problem yet but again I'm not too worried about losing my Russian shell account.  Wonder what happens to any excess BC if you get banned.

Nah, they've banned me too.

I've bought lots of games/dlc from them using the trick before. They've just started to actively ban accounts.

I guess your key won't be revoked, because we've got only message about locking the account.

I tried to get another copy for friend and this time I've got a PayPal refund, message about locking the account AND revoking the keys (despite not getting any key from them at all).

So I guess we won't lose it.

You can't buy either Blue Coins or games from them with the same PayPal account, that was used to buy something through banned GG account. All orders will be queued to manual review and then their support will ban you.

Steam just had the nerve to put Day One: Garry's Incident in my queue.   I can't seem to find the "You should be ashamed of yourself.  Get that garbage out of my face." option.

 
Is Company of Heroes franchise pack a single steam key or multiples? Thinking about buying it to get CoH complete pack and one the CoH2 DLCs. Would be nice if I can trade or give away the extra parts.

After all of those Bethesda packs, glitches and price mistakes? (Dark Souls 2 pre-order for $17.99 was the best one for me. They've also given me 40% of the price back in blue coins instead of 15%, because fuck math)

They can keep those coins, I'm not even mad.

Time to set up new PayPal account and fly to Russia again.

I sorta want the FC4 Season Pass although I already had Hurks Redemption included with my key. I guess that gives me five other things (not counting the PVP I'll never do): Syringe, Valley of the Yetis, Escape from Whateversville Jail, Yak Farm and Blood Ruby. Still undecided.

I do like the FC3/4 general game play though so more of it isn't a bad thing for me. Too bad it's not more Hurk. I do enjoy me some Hurk.

Write back and tell them it was a mistake.  You had your Russian VPN on to watch some education streaming Russian public television and forgot to turn it off before buying Mordor.

 
Complete is $15 in Gringoland and a friend says it's $149.99 ($8ish) in Mexico. So it's got to be a price mistake.

I'm tempted to use my illicit card money on it, but eh... you don't even get Steam achievements...

But uPlaytm achievements actually gives you serious bonuses, such as uPlaytm levels and uPlaytm badges, so they are more beneficial than steam achievements.

We'd like to follow up with more information regarding Steam's troubled Christmas.

What happened

On December 25th, a configuration error resulted in some users seeing Steam Store pages generated for other users. Between 11:50 PST and 13:20 PST store page requests for about 34k users, which contained sensitive personal information, may have been returned and seen by other users.

The content of these requests varied by page, but some pages included a Steam user’s billing address, the last four digits of their Steam Guard phone number, their purchase history, the last two digits of their credit card number, and/or their email address. These cached requests did not include full credit card numbers, user passwords, or enough data to allow logging in as or completing a transaction as another user.

If you did not browse a Steam Store page with your personal information (such as your account page or a checkout page) in this time frame, that information could not have been shown to another user.

Valve is currently working with our web caching partner to identify users whose information was served to other users, and will be contacting those affected once they have been identified. As no unauthorized actions were allowed on accounts beyond the viewing of cached page information, no additional action is required by users.

How it happened

Early Christmas morning (Pacific Standard Time), the Steam Store was the target of a DoS attack which prevented the serving of store pages to users. Attacks against the Steam Store, and Steam in general, are a regular occurrence that Valve handles both directly and with the help of partner companies, and typically do not impact Steam users. During the Christmas attack, traffic to the Steam store increased 2000% over the average traffic during the Steam Sale.

In response to this specific attack, caching rules managed by a Steam web caching partner were deployed in order to both minimize the impact on Steam Store servers and continue to route legitimate user traffic. During the second wave of this attack, a second caching configuration was deployed that incorrectly cached web traffic for authenticated users. This configuration error resulted in some users seeing Steam Store responses which were generated for other users. Incorrect Store responses varied from users seeing the front page of the Store displayed in the wrong language, to seeing the account page of another user.

Once this error was identified, the Steam Store was shut down and a new caching configuration was deployed. The Steam Store remained down until we had reviewed all caching configurations, and we received confirmation that the latest configurations had been deployed to all partner servers and that all cached data on edge servers had been purged.

We will continue to work with our web caching partner to identify affected users and to improve the process used to set caching rules going forward. We apologize to everyone whose personal information was exposed by this error, and for interruption of Steam Store service.

Meh I'm just not going to mention Putin pricing anymore because it causes too much drama, though I still think it's something people are doing or not doing because I never have an issue and have dobe it many times.

Those of us who it works for should just keep it sekrit. Too many people screwing stuff up is going to make it the new Nuuvem.

What happens in Russia stays in Russia.

Pls. don't. This deal was the only positive thing that happened in the gray despair of this winter sale.

I've started buying in Putinland almost 2 years ago, when the pricing was just a lowered amount in USD. I really doubt I screwed up.

Just saying, it's a good idea to spend all owned blue coins next time you'll be shopping in Russia.

AshotP and Psyringe are on the hunt and it took them 46min to lock my account after my order.
