Eh, I can name a bunch of places I'd take over Domino's + Papa John's.

Pizzeria Regina (North End original location only); Santarpio's; Capone's Prohibition Pub + Pizzeria; Papa Gino's; Bertucci's; Lynwood; Town Spa; Cape Cod Pizza; Marc Anthony's; Uno's Pizzeria.

Hell, and that's just for starters...

You're from Boston. The by and far worst pizza I ever had was from the Boston area, you're not allowed to talk about pizza. :shame:

I did go to a Uno's for the first time in recent memory though, and it was alright.

EDIT:

Burger talk is fine with me, too! :)
I've had Bertucci's a lot and Uno in the Boston area. I like it, but it definitely wasn't so good that I felt the price hike was justified. One local chain I used to like in Texas was Mr. Jim's Pizza but I think it is long gone.

Oh no, not the pizza discussion again! I've never found a pizza joint I like better than a chain joint
Yeah, but you're in Atlanta. Best pizza there probably comes from Taco Bell.

Unos is a national chain but the original Chicago pizza place licenses the name. The pizza at the national chain isn't representative of the local product.

NY pizza places are pretty expensive around where I live, and most of my local pizza eating involves company, so I go for the cheaper chain pizza unless it's me or only one or two other people (almost never is). If I'm out and about and want to grab a slice or two for lunch, I'll go to a NY pizza place though. NY pizza is also a given if I'm in the city, which happens every so often. I had lunch at a 2 Brothers in Manhattan about a week ago on the way home from a trip, for what it's worth.

HERESY
Where do you live? I live across the river in NJ and its always cheaper or the difference so little to get the local pizza than even something like Dominos, since Dominos charges delivery fees at least around here. i.e. Dominos has that 2 pizza for 5.99 each deal but it comes out to like $17 with the fees and tax. Whereas the local joint I order from most often has a 2 pizza and 2 liter deal for $18. Ive never paid more than $9 locally for a large. It is cheaper to pick up Dominos though.

The city is a no brainer though. Im there daily and there's so many pizza places to just walk in and get a slice that Dominos and her brethren shouldnt even exist there. A few years ago I had an intern from Maine and I told him to go get 4 pizzas for the session we had that afternoon, dude comes back with Dominos after walking by literally 2 of the best pizza places in NYC and everyone laughed at him.

That said, I don't mind Dominos and its a go to if Im staying in a hotel in some godforsaken place or shit city. They've gotten better but Papa Johns is absolutely vile and Ive not had Pizza Hut in literally years.

So time for some more drama in the realm of the Dirt Rally glitch. Just got this email:

Dear BobbyTastic,
We are contacting you today regarding your recent purchase of the AMD Gift AMD Dirt Rally Game Code. As noted in the product title, this product was intended to be given to customers as a gift along with the purchase of an AMD processor. Due to a system glitch, the product was sold as a standalone item allowing you to purchase it individually at a very low price.

Because AMD intended for this item to be given as a gift with purchase, they will be deactivating your codes shortly. We apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused. A full refund will be issued immediately, please expect the funds to return to your original form of payment within the next 3-5 business days

As a token of our appreciation, we will allow you to keep 5 codes for free. We will provide the specific codes we are allowing you to keep in a different email within the next 48 hours.

Sincerely,
Newegg Customer Service

Not sure how this affects the one code I already used to get a key for my own Steam account.

If AMD/Newegg are about to revoke Steam keys issued from the promo, expect a LOT of drama in the upcoming days.

I live in an area populated by Italians. Price is not a problem for pizza, it's quality. You give us that Little Caeser/Dominos/PizzaHut/CaliforniaPizzaKitchen crap, that's a paddlin'.

If you want me to be honest, it was really stupid for you to contact either AMD or Newegg CS about the issue. This was the expected result or worse. Usually with these types of glitches you get in and hope for the best and if something bad happens then you just eat the loss and move on.

You don't get free pizza by not contacting customer service, dumbass.

from the ans he pasted, I don't think he contacted NE at all. NE contacted him saying that 5 out of 10 codes he bought will be invalidated. That's all

I got one worded a little differently. Basically "We just wanted you to know that we know what you did."

Ah, my bad, from his earlier post it seemed he'd contacted Newegg and AMD about the issue. Maybe Newegg isn't as dumb as we thought (they are).

Is this the first time they've done this (revoked keys, sent emails?). I feel like Newegg cheap gfx card promo codes are a yearly thing.

This is correct. The only CS I contacted was AMD through their "further verification" ticket because the keys were nonfunctional otherwise (provided them the key and the reference id #, and that's it). I also messaged them on Facebook saying myself and others had keys that said they needed further verification and I wasn't sure if that was intentional or not

I'd have only contacted Newegg if I needed a refund.

Not that it matters, since I'm not the only one who received this email (said person didn't contact any CS)

Most likely this is automated, and AMD had this in mind since fucking with the keys earlier today.

I got that one as well. I didn't buy 500 copies though. So that's probably the one that they sent out to non-douchbags.

The Witcher 3 Update: Finally went to Skellige and there are 140 new question marks to visit on the world map.

Newegg dropping the hammer.

And that was a mass email from Newegg, not a response from contacting CS. Going to be interesting.

This is pretty light-handed, imo.

No penalty besides deactivated codes if you bought more than 5, and you get a refund for the deactivated codes, if not all of them.

The only people possibly in trouble are people who bought more than 5 that sold or traded away the ones being deactivated, and that's only if their Steam keys get revoked or they didn't activate the AMD keys they bought yet.

I wish I'd split up my order between two accounts, ah well.

At least you know for next time.

And you know what they say

Yeah, it could be a lot worse. Can't blame them if people were ordering them in the hundreds. Long as I get my game for $1 I'll be happy.

I think we can all agree that Booby is still stupid and this is still his fault.  I'm sure he was the first person to email AMD about it and tell them Newegg was the source and they subsequently contacted Newegg pissed off about it.  I'm sure no one else but Booby emailed them and I'm sure they had no other way of knowing where the keys came from without Booby.  No more pizza for Booby,

On a serious note, this happens so often so why did they suddenly decide to care now?  Or have people had their keys revoked during past promo code fappenings?

well, not suprising AMD caught on to the glitch, when the glitch went live around 2:00 am today, their amd4u rewards website was getting hammered hard, like it was some ddos attack. THey probably went and track the reason for it. why so many people was trying to redeem codes

That shit was seriously tacky. It's one thing to take advantage of a glitch for yourself but it's another to buy 8 bajillion copies and try to profit from it.

But Bobby Gonna Bobby.

Oh and you know where they make good pizza? Italy. Preferably in my aunt's kitchen.

What a surprise that Broken Age is one of the weekend deals. All Derpfle Fine games should be a permanent 75% off.
No wonder we have to wait a bit until next Main HumbleBundle.

It's gonna be another Double Fine bundle.

I cleared them all on PC. Let's just say... watch something while you travel by boat/swim to all those places. Cause it's boring. Much more so than runing/Roach.

I'm still playing. The ocean ones are the worst, they are all guarded by sirens. I've decided I'm letting them pass....

You know who used to make good tasting pizza? McDonalds. Man... I wish for the 90's back. I'll take pixelated graphics just for that pizza. At least back then, I could justify it... nowadays it's "retro" BS.... they're just too lazy to code more than sprites.
I think they still sell pizza in like two or three places.

And thanks for all the pizza talk guys... now I'm making a Digiorno.

loljk I was gonna make it anyways.

Wait there was a promo code error for naked celebrities?!

These keys almost always come from key generators so it's fairly easy for a company with their shit together to tie all the strings together if they want to. Don't know about previous times cards like this have gotten out in to the wild through mistakes but when said key generators have been compromised or stolen they have revoked all illicit keys (see Dirt 3 for example). They haven't done that yet and people who ordered a single copy got the same email but with the part about 5 keys being replace with "We are happy to allow you to keep the game code you purchased, we just wanted to inform you of the error. We hope you have a Happy New Year!".

So it's going to all work out for the most part and whoever is making the decision this is actually being pretty cool about how they're handling the whole thing.

There are literally something like 50 ?s in the ocean too. I did them all but I hated myself the whole time. The best is when you're out in the middle of nowhere and the sirens tear your boat apart and you have to swim back, thats awesome.

It's awfully nice of Newegg to let us keep the AMD Game code that is worthless if you can't redeem them on AMD's site.

except for those who bought the amd codes off ebay, or from trades.

Yeah, that's why I'm thinking they'll issue new codes. Makes no sense to let you keep a code if it's useless.

I'll give you Dirt Rally if you can give me accurate predictions of the games in all future Humble Monthlies!

Probably goes one of two ways. They invalidate all and issue new codes. Or they give AMD a list of valid codes.

I think with just letting people who got one keep that one and that it seems like AMD might have shut down all code redemption it may be the latter. Probably easier for them that way.

Unless they do let us keep useless codes as one final bit of trolling.
