Good News for those who hated that market sales gives instant credit.

Funds from this sale will be held by Steam for up to five days. In the meantime, the funds will be included in your pending wallet balance.

I ended up getting a bunch of achievements for the guys for running down trees, exploring the maps, and unlocking new garages. We found the lumber yard on a different map, but spoder and I were both using the same vehicle (albeit with different attachments) and neither of us could figure out how to load the lumber. I winched myself to be right underneath the log, and it did nothing. Meanwhile, Reds was in a lake somewhere drowning, so I winched onto spoder and towed him around randomly. We made a good convoy; he would run into me to get me moving when I started moving slowly through the mud. Then I drove us into a lake (on purpose because we all thought the game sucked) and we all died.

I think maybe that's the key to playing the game, to winch two trucks to each other so one can help push the other if they seem to be getting stuck. It's definitely a game you have to have patience for, to test out and understand the facets of each vehicle and part. Pre-planning and teamwork are also a necessity, because you need multiple types of trucks to get the lumber and finish each level. But we're CADDGs, so there was only so much driving slowly through mud and getting stuck on stumps we could handle. There were a number of people playing, I noticed, since whenever I opened a lobby it filled in seconds.

Here are some screen shots:

P.S.: In the second pic, you can see that spoder and I spawned lumber. It said things like "spoder is asking for the load" and "give the load to spoder" when he wanted a turn trying to get wood in his back end. Heheheheh.

See, I knew people would like Spintires if they actually gave it a chance.

Simulator master race! Who needs real life anyway, that shit sucks.

I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if Microsoft ties their games to the Win 10 store, or tries to make some sort of Xbox client for the PC. The only way I'm ok with this, since we don'e need yet another client dirtying the water, is if they really commit to making it a great service with great prices. Someone needs to come along and challenge Steam's dominance if we're ever going to get some real sales again...
They do have an Xbox client for PC; it's the Xbox app available in the Windows App Store.

But if you think that means Microsoft is likely to start really pushing PC gaming, well, I'd invite you to recall the sad history of Games for Windows Live!

Hopefully, they've learned from those mistakes... but if they want to be serious on PC they are going to have to bring allot more than a handful of games... Something I don't see them doing.

Edit: The Division Beta via Amazon preorders is now live for preloading.

DIVISION BETA IS 28GB!!!! And I only have 51 GB left on my data plan until end of month. Will probably have to pass or see where I'm at on the 31st. fuck COMCAST!

Comcast has a 300gb monthly data cap before they start charging extra. Given its essentially a monopoly in my area I filed a fcc complaint that did absolutely nothing.

I can't decide if you are being serious or not... If you do have caps that really sucks.
Oh, I wish I was joking. Comcast added this stupid 300 GB a month cap in the last year or two. I don't remember how Uplay beats work (like if I end up buying the game will I be able to just update the beta or have to download another 28 GB of the official release?) I might have to sit the beta out, even though I really want to try it. I use up my allotment if gaming data on bro event games and this month I was also able to download Six Siege and AC Syndicate. The wife just got Netflix, so I might have even less data to use in the coming months.

It sounds like Squeenix did a good job on the PC version of Rise of the Tomb Raider based on these:

Nvidia also released a game ready driver for it already. The same driver applies to The Division beta which hits on Friday.

Negatively, Destructoid reports some port issues

no cap for my comcast internets!  I can download games for you guys and send you the games in snail mail.  I just ask that you give me battlefront in return!

When looking into switching to Cox, saw about the same thing. Supposedly the only thing they'll do is send an email trying to shame you into caring.
Comcast will give you 3 courtesy months and then after that you get charged $10 for every 50GB you go over. I already used one of my overage months and tend to save mine for when I need them (uploading vids and pictures to one drive) and then abuse the hell out of it when I do go over by DLing massive amounts of anything and everything I can find. My first overage month I went over by 700GBs :)

Yeah chrome blocks custom url handlers, like one used by Steam.
worked just fine for me in chrome. I did have to select the second entry when i put the string in the browser, if you select the first it just does a search. if you select the second it then asks you to OK going to the external application. I'm running Version 47.0.2526.111 m

The refund I requested is not working as I would expect...

That doesn't sound bad, then. I honestly don't know how much data I use in a typical month, because I feel as though before smartphones were a thing, people didn't speak or think in these terms. I got in trouble with a local ISP 20 years ago when my Geocities page took up too much bandwidth (because reasons) but beyond that I've never really even considered it. I'm using a lot more, I'm sure, now that we've switched from DISH to Hulu/Netflix/Amazon for our TV. I had also thought about switching to Cox this week, and that was one of my concerns. Beyond that, it's just a bit too expensive at the moment since I don't own a dual-band wifi modem-router and the rental fees screw you with these companies. I'm sticking with AT&T for a while, at least until I can spring for a good router. I'll probably eventually switch to Cox because AT&T's speed: cost ratios are utter crap.

Right. They don't dare try to enforce it here in Seattle because Centurylink is knocking on people's doors, literally, offering Fiber.
I wish they would hurry up here. Centurylink has been advertising their 'fiber' being available for a couple years now, yet its still only in one or two neighborhoods in the entire city

Oh, I wish I was joking.
I kind of thought you weren't when I saw you mention Comcast... I hate Time Warner, they suck at everything, but they have no caps and I suspect they'll always be cap free in the KC area do to Google fiber... (Hopefully this spring they'll finish the installs in my area.)

I hammer my internet like a cheerleader on prom night. I'll be sad if time warner ever drops a cap.

Yeah, when I had comcast they permanently postponed the data cap for my area because there's competition with FIOS. If there's competition in your area that provides no data caps it's likely you won't have to deal with any.

So, I am a silly bastard and bought CoD:BLOPS3 from amazon when it hit $27 and change.  I got it on Friday & didn't bother trying to play it until Sunday.  Installed the game and went to launch it.  Black Screen.  Hmnn... Ctrl-alt-del.  Re-launch... ok good Activision logo.. black screen.  Alt-tab out to see that the game has crashed.. great!  Spend the next couple hours trying to fix it.  Tried everything google says, modified my config file, reinstalled all my drivers, ran Dxdiag, checked integrity, uninstalled, reinstalled, uninstalled and reinstalled from the goddam DISCS... etc etc etc.  Tried again Monday night and Tuesday..  if I don't get this thing working today I am going to be mighty pissed.

The only option I can think of is actually taking advantage of the free win7 > 10 upgrade a little sooner than I had planned.  Ad yes, my computer is well over the min specs for the game so it's not that.

All that said - yes I bought a CoD game and I probably deserve it.  I was looking for a high-production value FPS and it was a pretty good discount and I used up some of my free amazon$  ... ok!??!

If anyone has had this problem and manged to fix it, please let me know.

I'm in the same boat.

I don't think Comcast would ever start charging data caps in the Michigan area, much less the Detroit area considering how much people make around here.

I'm always going over 300gb+ a month with my Netflix/Media streaming with 5 people in this house + online gaming.

I didn't win that game from the GMG mystery bag so I am having none of those issues. My mystery bags are looking like the better deal more and more.

That's the point exactly though, people are dropping Comcast Cable and replacing it with netflix/hulu so these data caps are meant to make it more expensive to do streaming so that people will switch back to cable.

Google has promised to bring their fiber internet to all of Atlanta soon so I hope 1. That will force Comcast to drop these caps. 2. It will be affordable so I can switch.

Television companies failed to adapt with modern streaming services.

The only thing I've turned on my tv for is the local news every now and then to see what is happening.

Just feels like Comcast is trying to get the last few dollars before google is in every house.

I live in a small town, so the options for ISPs are extremely limited. We were with company that then got bought out by another company, but the service remained the same. Up until a few months ago, we never had a data cap. Speeds weren't the best, but no data caps made it tolerable. A couple months back, we switched plans and without mentioning it even once, the switching of the plans put a data cap on it. Basically, we were grandfathered in from the previous no data cap plan, but when we switched, it put us on their terms. A little heads up would have been nice, but I guess you can't expect much decency from an ISP these days. So yeah, now I have 350GB to deal with and we get charged an extra $3.50 for every 10GB we go over.

I pay around $60 (£40 in proper money) for a 12mb/s service. It's capped at 350g per month and I get charged £2 for every gig I go over. Although they don't count anything downloaded between midnight and 8am towards the cap.

Yay for competitive pricing! (I have no choice, KC has a monopoly in Hull).

I think the concept of data caps is fair - if you use a shit ton of data, you pay a little more. It's just that the caps are way too low and the prices too high. It's price gouging due to the limited competition the major telecoms face in their markets.
