PSNOT 3.0 - Let's Talk About University of Kentucky, Baby!

Tried for one of those PS4 copies and it told me there was 75% left at 10:01 and then sold out on the next screen.
Yeah, they sold out really, really quickly--the CD bundles apparently were gone within seconds.

There's a second wave at 6pm EST (they only sold half their stock for this wave), so you can try again then.

Finished the main story in Lego Dimensions last night with the boy.  Though through a goofy quark, I'm missing four level trophies.  Apparently when I dropped out as player one and let him keep playing just as player 2, that turned off all the trophies.  Ditto for when he dropped out as player one last night to let me do some challenge alone.  So bullocks to that shit.

The levels are definitely waaaaaaaaaaaay longer than any other Lego game I've played.  A lot of them wore out there welcome and I just wanted them done already.  It's obviously super cool to see all the properties mixed together, but I think shorter is sweeter for those levels.

Highlights for me were definitely the Portal level and the Midway Arcade level.

Now I need to go buy three more fun packs cause Cartwheel/Price Match Discount Double Check makes me.  Better get the level packs back on there soon.

Every Lego game has been like that AFAIK.  They used to have in the trophy description (Player 1 only) on a lot of the games.  I have never had an issue with player 2 dropping out, but never ever drop out of player 1.

For the financial nerds.

Sony made money!

edit: quote about gaming division

In all things PlayStation, the company saw a 10.5 percent increase in sales, now reaching $4.9 billion. Compared to Q3 last year, income was also improved,as the arm didn't have to pay for a write-off of Vita hardware which happened last year. How will the gaming arm fare now it has some degree of autonomy? Or was it all just a grand paper shuffle?

I'm willing to squad up for The Division as long as you don't mind somebody playing who's bad at FPSs. I don't want to get yelled at even though I deserve it! I can play at 10 eastern tonight, but I'm guessing there's some tutorial stuff I need to do first?

The Division is a third-person shooter, so it may not matter all that much.

hell yeah, I forgot all about that game! it looks pretty fun (assuming the dictionary doesn't suck), like a boggle/scrabble/rpg hybrid.

Yeah, I was looking into that. Sounds fun. I'm pretty sure the Blogcast said it was just coming to Vita this week, but googling leads me to believe it'll be on PS4 at some point too. I'd rather have it on PS4, so without knowing whether it will be crossbuy I'm gonna wait.

Explain this to a dummy. What's "wrong" in this picture?
If you look at the far end zone you can vaguely see a Broncos logo painted there as well. I guess they started painting Broncos on both sides or something.

A picture with a better painted far endzone would have been a lot better though.

This.

Since the AFC is the home team this year, their endzone is supposed to be on the right when viewed from the press box (I just found this out this morning). But they started painting it on the other side before realizing their mistake. It has since been corrected to display the Panthers.

Plus it reminded me of this:

The date has been known for a while, but I think the trophy news is recent. I was hoping for a plat, but I'll get it anyway.
Here's the proof on that, btw. The developer also said they actually discussed the game's trophy structure on the Blogcast this week, if you're interested enough to listen to that.

Not much of a tutorial, really. You can squad up right away and do the story and side missions.

Posted this in the PSNOT book club, but I'll repeat it here in case people don't check the discussion there.

An option for people with e-readers that can't get a library copy could be Kindle Unlimited from Amazon. Basically it gives you unlimited access to most of their books and audio books. They have a 30-day free trial to get you through this month at no cost. But $10/month doesn't seem like too terrible a deal if you do read a lot.

Looks like this is the route I'll go to get High Castle in time for Tuesday.

Kindle Unlimited

Just the regular kind? They have no clue what a trophy is I dont think.

google man in the high castle ebook, there are free copies all over the place.

Letter Quest Remastered looks like it would be a good game to have on my phone, but there's only the old version available and it's FTP which scares me off. There is a demo available for Mac and PC at bigfishgames.com. It's a 1 hour trial. Might want to test it out there.

You shouldn't let F2P scare you off immediately. There are some really good F2P games that have really fair monetization schemes. Gems of War on PS4 comes to mind, but I know there's a lot more F2P games that I've had fun with. A lot of people really like Warframe.

This is the kind of hard hitting news we clamor for. Thank god they were able to fix it and just in time!

Really i wouldnt waste my time w/ ftp. Or as i call them, " free to win". Though, i would like an open world fps in this style if microtransactions are kept to a minimum. Or even gta type game, though id happily pay $60 for a boxed version.

you're playing the vita version, right? if you really do decide to go after the plat it can take a little bit of the sting out of the post game grind if you just do the daily tournament every day instead of playing the same challenges over and over. it doesn't take too long and you can get a decent amount of points for a little effort. I'll join in too (I'll have to see if the ps3 leaderboard is joined with vita).

unrelated: I loaded up ni no kuni this morning to see where I saved last and it was right in front of the first boss. I ran in and was completely stomped and I apparently have no idea how to play the game anymore. so maybe I'll need to start over.
And apparently sometimes the weekly daily challenge is a DLC course, the first time I booted it up to get the trophy out of the way I couldn't play it until it reset on Sunday.

It is entirely possible I skipped over it trying to skim to where they start talking about new releases (they didn't do it right at the beginning like they usually do). I guess it is pretty well known that that one is coming.

diablo pros: can someone explain kanai's cube to me like I'm a total moron?  because I am.  the only thing I've successfully done with it so far is rerolled a set piece to another set piece.  and what's the difference between ancient legendary and regular legendary in practice?  I got an ancient legendary mace this morning and it didn't seem too spectacular.  I assume you have to do bounties to get a lot of the materials needed to do anything special with the cube.  I know velo kept saying you can take the power out of something with the cube and keep it, but what does that mean?  can I take my little pet spawning ring and permanently assign the power to myself?  do I get to pick the power that the cube gives out or is it random i.e. will I just get some lameo stat property?

and what's with the keys that are on the map now?

Does sony approve crap like physical versions of retro city and sat morning rpg vita? Are they that lax?
Im not sure why you think they are crap (I wont likely play either game ever, but that doesnt mean they are crap) and why would Sony not approve of physical releases if someone wants to produce them. Especially when the games you are talking about have relatively decent sized followings and already went through verification in digital form.
