PSNOT 3.0 - Let's Talk About University of Kentucky, Baby!

why do the japanese always use that shitty looking blocky times new romanesque font for english characters?

and I am definitely hitting jrpg burnout between ni no kuni and ffx-2.

based on the usual jrpg tropes (I have transportation across water) I assume I'm about halfway through ni no kuni's story in pig town.  Do the other folks playing it have mp shortage problems?  I just let my teammates do whatever since I don't want to micromanage and they seem to just burn through all of their mp after a few battles.

ffx-2 never ends.  now I'm just leveling up dressspheres to get past the level 60 licking boss in the giant end game dungeon.  I'm not sure why they gave him an autohit attack that does 10x my hp, but at least he doesn't use it too often.  there's actually a lot of instadeath in this dumb dungeon.

I hate change so much. Even if you try to pay with close to exact change it still grows and grows as you fish out the low hanging fruit of quarters and dimes (so as to not hold up the line) and get pennies and nickels back. I finally couldn't stand it anymore and emptied my wallet, $5.23 in change, only 6 of which were quarters. Took $5 of it to the bank and converted into 1 bill.

You keep change in your wallet?

Yeah my party runs out of MP at an alarming rate, and the coffee items are so expensive compared to healing items that it's hard to keep enough on hand early on. After doing lots of errands and bounty hunts I'm in better shape though.

It seemed to help a little when I set Esther to keep us healthy and Swaine to provide backup.

I eat lunch out maybe twice a week? I got a taco bell gift card for my birthday though, so between that and the app % off, it's been an easy choice the past couple weeks.

Credit cards.

Theres a hot dog place down the road from me that has a sign in the window that says something like this is america so we only accept cash.

I can't tell you if they're good or not because this is 2016 and I should be able to buy hot dogs with a card.

Good thing they don't take cards or else I'd eat there every day and I'd end up looking like Stotch!

Yup only carry cash if I think about needing it before hand. Like when going downtown for something or if I go to a sporting event that will have paid parking.

credit cards all the way otherwise.

Okay cool, not just a problem with my chrome then. Sucks its broken, that was definitely the best way to navigate around threads.
I don't have that problem normally. There is only this thread for me. Occasionally I will check out a deals thread to find out the details or ask a question. That is what you get for wandering out there with the unwashed masses of CAG.

Do many of you guys still carry cash? It's extremely rare for me to do so. Maybe a few times a year at this point.
Usually under $20 or less. Some days nothing. Have had no cash in my wallet since Sunday. Wasn't there was a time police would bust homeless people and site some stupid law about having no money?

it is. I want to like it to make simmias proud, but I can't. I really tried. now I just need to find a stopping point - I'm sooo close to having most of the trophies wrapped up that I just want to push through the pain. but the pain!
It's great to see that now that you can't tolerate games that overstay their welcome, you still haven't given up on sticking with them through to the end. Is that right?

I leave change in the car or a change jar on my dresser. When I have a decent amount I will take it to a CoinStar machine and get an Amazon GC with it. But yeah I get it out of my pockets ASAP. More and more though I pay for shit with my phone or credit card so less and less cash/change to deal with.

Might pick up Nier from that SE sale. $10 plus shipping.
I thought about that but the shipping is pretty brutal - $10 is half of what it costs used most everywhere. Fun fact: it costs $8 to ship one but $9 to ship 6 copies.

well I'm not a filthy quitter, chewy.

It's foolish to walk around with absolutely no cash, then you get stuck with ATM fees sometimes if you're at a bar or restaurant that is ridiculous and won't take cards.

I carry about $40 with me all the time but I probably make less than a dozen cash purchases per year.

Yes, it has a zipper pouch which holds change. Most of the time I use credit cards, but whenever I need to split up $20 into smaller bills if I am going someplace where I'll be tipping, I pay with cash.
FYI, this is not a picture of a wallet.

who's played that family guy ps3 game?  is it any good?  it's apparently ringing up for the target deal and I think I saw it at a store today that's participating.

The side-by-side improvements here are pretty amazing:

I'm really hoping Kiwami and 6 come over. No idea how well 5 did, though.

my bank refunds atm fees, I genuinely forgot those existed.

Just because I dont use it doesnt mean I dont carry it on me. I think I have had the same $20 for over a year.

I dont remember the last bar I went to that didnt take cards. A drink is $5 at least and you can easily add the tip on the reciept!

Also, fuck pennies. They cost our government much more than they are worth to make!

I carry cash, but not a lot of it. I need it for pinball league at the very least. I do pay for the vast majority of things with CC, though.
I used to only need to carry cash for pinball, but now they installed this PayRange app on all the machines so I can just fund my games with my phone. It's very handy. Plus the owner well sometimes discount all the games if you use the PayRange app for a weekend and you can earn free credits if you play one machine a lot. Pinball tournaments I've played in the last couple weeks had them also. Get your folks on it Chewy!

I was in Hershey PA in October. Couldn't find a bank ATM. Was the first time I paid any ATM fees at all. My bank never charged me but the ATM inside of CVS did. I usually make sure to grab a bunch of cash before traveling but didn't this time. Otherwise I can't recall when I last paid an ATM fee. Still having a few bucks in my wallet is a good idea. I have been at a store where their credit card terminals were down. I was able to buy what I wanted with cash. Doesn't happen often but still if I am anywhere away from home I rather have some cash in my pocket just in case.

So it turns out the kid and I finished all the real story mode levels on LBP Marvel last night.  There are a few bonus ones that I do not think he even cares about playing.

So if you guys want to play PayDay 2 tonight, I could start around 7:30 or any time after.

This Pay Day 2 thing is getting to be like Red Dead all over again.
I could see you saying that about LBP Vita (in fact I have been waiting on someone to). The PayDay 2 thing has been a few posts over the last 2 days.

ETA: Don't piss me off or I will sucker you into buying it as well.

"Though I still cannot fathom why the series defaults to a fully inverted camera. Does anyone really want the camera to move in the opposite direction of the analog sticks?"

Heh.

So I guess if you can find some other stuff you want to buy the shipping isn't that bad. If you still have a DS that's a great price on the best port of Chrono Trigger, $10.

You go to the bank?

Seriously, I almost never carry cash. It's a maybe once a year thing, like if we're going somewhere rural. (county fair, apple picking, etc).

Even the food trucks around here take cards more often than not using square or an ipad.

Who even goes to the bank? That's like a once yearly trip for me as well. I never have any cash to deposit and the only checks I receive are either from relatives or doctor's offices because of over payments.

The wife carries cash to tip coffee baristas, but I'm too much of a cheapskate for that, or I'll just scribble it on the receipt if there's a space.

What's really frustrating is when you go to the grocery store and get stuck behind some old lady who insists on counting out her own coins, or paying for things with a check. A check. In 2016.
