I just won a $50 M$ gift card, I have no idea what to buy... I guess i have till Sept to use it.  Maybe The Division Season Pass.  I'm pretty close to done with that game tho.

Had the same problem with my X41's. Bought a cheap 2.5-3.5 cable, no chat. Bought the MS headset adapter, plugged in only the cable, works fine now. Cheap cable=crap I guess!
 
It seems like there's a lot of people (not necessarily in this thread) that want QB to become the new cool thing for the internet to hate.

I'm really enjoying it. I know I'm nearing the end and don't want it to be over
 
I haven't finished QB yet but I'm in Act 2 and so far I've been pleasantly surprised with how engaging the story is. The game play is fun as well. Maybe not the best "shooter" ever but I don't think that's the point.

I am having an absolute blast with the game. Ranks up there with Rise of the Tomb Raider in terms of single player games. It may be short but I'd take short and sweet over a padded campaign any day.

Time manipulation can be gimmicky and not implemented all that great. But here, it's easy and fun to use.

And this is one of the few games that I can see myself playing multiple times. (I'm the kind of guy who doesn't even finish 2/3 of the games I buy so that's saying a lot.)

I've been absolutely struggling with Dirt Rally. I consider myself to be a good racer, but mainly in the Forza series. Every other (serious) racing game that I've attempted to play has kicked my ass. F1 2015, Project Cars, and Dirt Rally is no exception. Forza walks this fine line between simulation and arcade where it's super accessible to players of all skill levels, especially with the rewind functionality.

Dirt Rally simply put, is for hardcore racers only. It's difficult and unforgiving. I don't really follow rally racing at all, so I have no idea what the co-driver of the car is yelling continuously about the upcoming turns and numbers. They all mean something, but there is no tutorial or guide to tell you what. In my first race on Dirt Rally I crashed out within 3 minutes of the start line. I would later go on to finish the series in 4th place, but the game requires some serious concentration and patience throughout.

 
Has anyone who is playing DiRT Rally played the original DiRT? I loved the original, but I am curious if it is really that much harder?

Edit: It is worth looking up the calls/signals if you don't know them. Essentially, it has to do with the severity of the turn, one being the most severe and six being the least. For example, L5 over gravel would be a moderate left turn over gravel (looser/slick rocks).

I've had way too much exposure to this lately. Make sure the 3.5mm -- 2.5mm adapter supports a 4-pin connection. You can double-check by seeing if the male end of the adapter has four sections separated by three black plastic bands. If you only see three sections separated by two black plastic bands, then the adapter doesn't support chat.

I'm in Act 2 as well. Just saw the first episode and wow! The production value and thought put into this is great. I know that once I finish the game I can always go back and make different choices. Maybe not the best "shooter" as you mentioned, but if I wanted to fill my shooting needs after the game is over I can just go back to Black Ops 3 or pick up the Division or something. I got this game for it's story and interesting gameplay and so far I'm not disappointed.

I haven't QB played it yet but the videos looks great

I support the company and the game because it gave us what many of us have been missing and asking for which is a solid and fun CAMPAIGN based game and not bogged down with dlc which is never fun to purchase

Quantum Break is one of the games that makes me jealous of One owners. No hate. Alan wake is one of my favorites on the 360. Alan Wake got a lot of, not hate, but more a meh reaction at launch (if I remember correctly). I think that was because the shooting mechanic / gameplay was solid but not really revolutionary. It relied more on story and atmosphere.

Sure. One of the reviewers brought up in this thread had a Nintendo game as his favorite game for 2015 and another five non-PS4 games on his top 10.

Wow this helps a lot... would've never figured it out otherwise. Turns out the headset came with a cheap snap on adapter, but it doesn't support the 4 pin connection. Just so I'm clear, any 4 pin adapter will work, not just the ms brand headset adapter?

Quantum Break, a game either liked or hated, there doesn't seem to be a middle ground. It's not like Remedy games have ever had this same reaction, Alan Wake, Max Pain,...

He actually gave it a 2/5 since that is the scores they do but 2/5= 40/100 it's just a 40/100 sounds worse than 2/5. I have no interest in Quantum Break but I can see why ppl would like it and it's just fine. If I was forced to review it I would probably give it a low score too because it's just not my thing, kind of like how Telltale stuff is not usually my thing and neither is Resident Evil. Give me some Smite or Tomb Raider or a solid side scroller and I'm in. Glad there is so many great games for everyone.

The best way to utilize reviews is to find one or more people whose opinions tend to line up with yours or whose insight you are interested in and stick to them. Caring about the entire score is a recipe for disaster that tends to result in people getting mad at people that aren't confirming their preconceived bias to their liking.

SOB, I just had the adapter cable from my headset adapter go out, so I thought I was being slick by ordering a handful of adapters from monoprice for $0.38 each. OF COURSE they're not 4-pin and as far as I can tell monoprice doesn't make a 4-pin.

Oh well, I guess a buck off eBay isn't bad and it's not like any B&M stores have them (I've only found them included with headsets and such, and I like the headset I have).


Also, if anyone cares it turns out I mostly wasn't getting invaded by players in DSII, but just Forlorn npcs that like to spawn when you're trying to recover souls or just been hollow too long (as a way to give out human effigies methinks). A couple times have been players, who trounced me because I am terrible. I enjoy the PvE a lot, even tho I am not good and have easily lost 1/3 of the million souls I collected. I'm just good enough to keep making progress and luck out in boss fights, but when I'm not following a walkthrough I have a habit of panicking and rolling off ledges if surprised.

I just recently bought this --> https://www.radioshack.com/products/radioshack-mobile-headset-to-pc-converter?variant=5717752517 and I recommend it if you have a Radio Shack near you.

It cost more than I wanted to spend (I really wanted the Turtle Beach branded one for $6 but it's permanently OOS) but it was on the way home and the packaging made it really easy to return if I needed to.
