I will not be updating every Daily/Weekly/etc. sale. The tools to help individuals become a smarter shopper will be provided below.

Prey 2 getting cancelled was one of the biggest disappointments of the past few years.

I would've liked to see Human Head's version, but it's in capable hands with Arkane. Though it behooves me not to get too excited about any game these days.

Fingers crossed I guess.

Found the Bethesda presentation largely boring.

- Most interesting reveal to me was in the cute little dos intro, with the new Wolfenstein game titled called "New Colossus".  Probably a Quakecon/2017 E3 reveal.

- Nice that Super Skyrim Ultimate Remaster Awesomesauce Version 2.9 is a free upgrade if you already own Legendary.

- Dishonored 2 looks cool. It looked cool before the show so I guess it looks cooler.

- No shocker but a new Quake. 

On another aside, the new Doom's first level will be playable for all tomorrow, so if you want to taste it, do so.  Don't care about ESO or VR and will care more about Prey later on down the line.

... but does this mean they'll remove our existing version of the game, replacing it with a new one, or will we get another edition? Because if they swap it out with the new one, there'll be a lot of mods that will not work anymore...

They will remove the Skyrim: Legendary Edition from Steam and you will have both in your library. I don't think there's any game that replaces an old game with a new game unless it's the same ID, which this shouldn't be.

 
Yea I gotta say EA was one of the worst pressers I've seen in a long time and I been watching E3 pressers since like 1999. Bethesda was pretty solid showing, I'm legit excited for Quake and Prey, I think I like the new Prey trailer better than the old 2011 one. Doom demo is up on steam now, but not sure if it's working yet. I'm kinda mad that there wasn't a Wolfeinstein 2 tease but at least we got a glimpse of what it's gonna be called.

Six DLC for FO4 is cool. Half of them being settlement-building stuff (and another one revolving around building robots) is... less cool. They jacked up the season pass price since you're getting more stuff but I think the New Vegas Season Pass had more actual content.

But this will appeal to the Minecraft masses. They would easily pay $20 just for the building DLC.

 
Bethesda presentation was boring overall. Only reveal I found interesting at all was Prey. Last year they could get away with spending time on crap nobody was all that excited for (eso and es legends) because they spent so much time on FO4 and revealed dishonored 2. This year they revealed prey, but they obviously didn't have anything akin to fo4 that would draw people in. Really they spent a lot of time rehashing things that they went over last year. That being said I'd love to try out fo4 in VR, also wish they would've spent a little bit of time actually explaining nuka world seeing as how that looks like it'll be the last story dlc.

Yeah, if you take out the dlc that just adds building items to the game you're left with far harbor, nuka world, and automatron. Nowhere near what New Vegas had. I only paid $23 having bought the season pass from GMG prior to the price increase, but it's still disappointing. Having seen the initial 30 buck price tag I just assumed they would do a similar dlc release/price structure as new vegas had and would give a dlc for free, but whatever. $15 worth of building dlc crap which you can probably get for free already from mods

 
Oh man, I am thoroughly disappointed by the teaser for this new version of Prey. I loved the whole alien bounty hunter thing.

Could still turn out well, but my expectations have plummeted.

 
I don't like teasers or trailers when they don't show in-game play. It is used as a bad habit to create hype. I can justify it on certain titles or games but not for every game in market.

Yeah teasers generally suck. I'm also not a fan of opening cinematics in niche games either....don't show much. I generally enjoy whatever gameplay anyone shows. I thought both EA and Bethesda's show were not amazing. EA was likely better than last year, but still not amazing.

Chris Avellone (formerly of Obsidian) is also working on this.

So, hopefully this means that Prey might have some good writing, dialogue, narrative, and storytelling...

EDIT:

And "bleh" at Bethesda teasing New Colossus (supposedly the next Wolfenstein game) in that DOS List, but not even showing it off.

I think many were hoping for Elder Scrolls 6 and another Fallout game (which probably would be from Obsidian, to hold us over until Bethesda's Fallout 5, since Lousiana has been rumored for the next one) - and yeah, we got none of that.

Cool that Chris Avellone is working on Prey, hopefully this means the story/writing isn't as disastrous in that game is it is in most Bethesda titles.

I don't think anybody really thought we'd get another fallout or elder scrolls. Elder scrolls maybe gets teased next year with a release set for 2018. Personal hunch but I don't think there will be another fallout spin-off, although I'd love to be wrong. While we're crossing fingers if they decided to do that, give it to obsidian again, get rid of voiced protagonist, revert back to the dialouge system of 3/nv, and put skills back in.

Really the conference wasn't good, wasn't terrible, they just didn't have enough on display. They should've officially announced the new Wolfenstein, then they would've had more than just Prey to go with.

 
Kinda sad they're rebooting Prey.

I really liked the original.  I had no illusions they were keeping the bounty hunter Prey 2, but hoped they'd stick to the same universe.

You're probably right. The whole settlement system is pretty anemic & pointless at its core and I doubt more shit to hang on the walls will change that but I'm sure there's a market for it.

 
Man I would be so excited about the Skyrim remaster if I was still a console peasant.

Anyway, are the Rocket League nights a regular thing? I showed up late but I had a lot of fun playing with the few folks who were still there.

Yep, that was me. But I have since updated my Steam account to reflect my CAG persona. Anyway, I look forward to future sessions.

4real. Slapping lipstick on that old hog Skyrim is not enough to hold us over until ES6.

They really should let Obsidian do an Elder Scrolls side series ala New Vegas.

I just ended up caving and getting the Legendary on a cheap sale once, I think GMG $10 + 20% off so $8. It's the best you're going to get if you need most/all of the DLC.

Yeah, they do them pretty regularly. If not weekly, close to it. I apologize for being so sucky. Most people are pretty good, but Syntax and I are the group's charity cases. I regularly score against my team more than I do against the other team. Maybe I should try to defend the other team's goal and I'd score more.

Yeah, I am not getting much better at it. My main issue is I can't master the art of getting height on my car to do any substantive hitting of the ball when it's not flat on the ground. That and generally missing the ball around 90% of the time I hit it and then the 9% of the time I do hit it, I don't control where it goes and end up with own goals. I blame my car. I need to use a different car. That's it.

 
I bet if Prey success and sells a lot worldwide then there is a big chance we'll see Chris Avellone involved in a new Fallout game/spin off.
 
Do you guys keep the camera locked on the ball on Rocket League, or do you use the free camera? I'm not that great, but I found that I did much better once I started locking into the ball.

Also, why the hell am I having such a hard time uploading a profile pic to this damn site? Life shouldn't be this hard!

Ball lock about 95% of the time.

Uploading a picture, it has to be a certain pixel X pixel count

You and Fox I can pick out of habit and I'm usually able to pick out Malkan. Most people are saying "Syntax, send me an invite" and I'm like "Uuhhhh... who?"

I've been using free cam so I'll have to try ball-lock.
