decided to blow off shark attack dm2. that game looks dead. Plus i cannot make the next brofest for it anyway. Depth looks like the winner in the shark derby. I noticed quite a few cags have it on their wishlist.

Doing a 4 pack of depth for $4.69 ea copy
anyone? i see quite a few bro cags have it on their wishlist, juan, gilby, drabe..

shark skins? is that like hots skins?
How dare you impugn the splendor of HotS skins! I'll have you know that they actually do something...maybe...

Ok, I'm officially bored with this sale now and have lost any hope that some other game worth purchasing will turn up.  Why is there another week of this yet?

i agree with you. I had the same thought as you yesterday. I mean, if there is not going to be dailies/flashes nor event related why do we need 10-11 days of sale? I think a week is just enough for a big sale like this. And furthermore it could potentially help pubs/devs to discount their games a little more.

Well, they killed flashes because checking every 4-8 hours was too hard and then killed dailies because people whined that checking the site once every 24 48 hours was too hard.  I guess we need 14 days of shitty sales in case someone is only able to check the internet once every ten days.

Eventually we'll get a year's worth of 0.85% discounts for people who can only check Steam once every 365 days.  Arctic research teams, people on the ISS, etc.

yeah. Paypal sucks. For Finland they now require you giving them your bank account and code cards, which isn't only questionable but illegal. lol.

I bought some stuff. Shovel Knight and the DeLorean skin for Weiler favorite game.

And will buy fairy fencer, tales of symphonia, dat marvel heroes pack and maybe shark attack 2 for bronights

Which shark game Bros plays the most and support more players? I'm torn between Depth (liked the gameplay through its free weekend) and shark attack 2 (never played it)

We've only played Deathmatch twice and Depth once but I liked Depth more. More stuff going on, better maps and I think it supports more people but I could be wrong. Both certainly supported as many players as we had.

If we were to shark it up again, I'd go Depth.

I'll bring all my fancy shark skins

Because Steam still needs you to discover about 400-500 more games in your queue.

I remember most people saying Depth was better, which I tend to agree, but SAD2 is different so it's not saying that SAD2 is bad or we won't play it again. Basically, SAD2 is something that you'll play just with the bros, otherwise it's pretty dead. Depth is something you could probably pay outside the bros.

that means you will actually show up and play?
Look, don't expect much. Drabe showing up to an event means he's usually there right on time, joins the first game, then passes out drunk within 10-15 minutes never to be heard of again. In a way, he's much like your dad going by what your mom has told me.

SAD2 isn't bad and I'd play it again, but Depth has more modes and smaller maps which means it's easier to find a fun game with a handful of players.  Main issue with SAD2 is that some of the maps just feel like it takes forever to find the other players and there isn't much to do besides free-for-all and the trade-off predator mode.

Hell, just cutting the SAD2 map size by 50% would help wonders.

Also, Depth has net guns that piss Spoder off whereas if we play SAD2 he just kicks everyone's ass as the shark

I think I was asleep when they did that giveaway...?

Well, Trump seems to have missed my exploits in Mexico. Which got me thinking... When everything was said in done did Sim City 2013 end up being a decent game or did it never recover from that launch?

So funny you mention that. That was the last thing I googled before I went to bed last night. Read a couple of articles. It seems like many of the issues with SimCity got fixed, especially the multiplayer. You can play single-player offline now too. But the dev company was dissolved a couple years ago so who knows how many bugs actually got fixed. I remember the last time I was playing that game in '13 my city had 1000 water towers and a water shortage, while also importing water at a high cost from a neighboring player. It's amazing how crazy bad the launch of this game was that all of us never even considered going back. But I am going to try playing Simcity again soon. That game had so much potential!

That does sound like a nightmare... and your news explains why there was only one big expansion. (I was expecting to see several this being EA after all.)

Hmmm... Maybe Sims 4. I enjoyed the others but really enjoyed the first. (The step back in what you could do always bugged me, even though I sort of understood it.) I skipped 3 all together.

I think the Valve marketing psychologist has overthought himself/herself and appears to have a lot of influence within GabeN's circle of trust. No dallies, no flash, no meta, no glitz, and no glamour. Summer Picnic, let alone a decent sale, this is not.

The low discounts are up to the developers/publishers, which makes the sale even more frustrating. I haven't bought much at all (beyond cheap fodder) and I'll probably wait until the end of the sale before spending some of my Steam wallet. I'm waiting for other store front sales and the Humble July monthly to avoid potential refund hassle. I'm not angry or surprised, just kind of disappointed overall.

I'm sure there's some around here (Hal I think?) that have spent more time with it than I have but it's decent enough for what it is if you can get it cheap. Just bear in mind it's sort of a more casual version.

I have noticed any major issues with it having played it well over a year after the initial launch and they patched out the always online requirement (after initially claiming it was impossible to do so ), which was the main thing people were bitching about.

It's 75% off, only $5 on Origin!  (Orgin copycat sale ends in 22hrs btw)

I was going through all my old physical PC games last night, installed a few 'Games for Windows' to see if they still worked.   Amazingly, Crysis from '07 still stands up pretty well today!

But all these other games I have boxes for: Bioshock, Fallout 3, Sins of a Solar Empire, Galactic Civilizations II, Mass Effect 1-2, etc...I find myself just wanting to have them all on Steam instead, for simplicity's sake. and so they get proper updates that keep them running down the line.

Well a lot of the publishers and developers are not wanting to have their games deeply discounted for 10 days. And they can't bring back the old 20% then 50% then back to 20% system because of refunds. What they need to do is just rotate different games out for different sales on different days and then not have them on sale for rest of the sale.

The thing is that Valve has historically had most of the games in the store on some form of sale for the entire duration of the sale, so they'd have to shit that mindset. Also it would be somewhat logistically complicated to have different sets of the 800 kajillion indie games on sale and then not on different days. They'd probably have to limit it to AAA and a few select featured indies.

Technically any of the developers and publishers can put their games on sale at any time since Valve enaled those tools a while back. So they could do this not on sale, on sale one day, then not again thing themselves, but most won't bother on their own so it would work better if Valve organizes it. But Valve is lazy.

TL;DR Valve took the laziest way out given the reality of refunds with two week windows.

... can't you activate Bioshock on Steam? Or was that only 2?

I think we just have to come to the realization that any Steam sales are just an opportunity for us to fakeybro some games at a slight discount if we don't have enough patience to wait for a bundle or real sale elsewhere.

It is sad though.  I was going to recommend Everyday Genius Square Logic again, but I see it is not discounted at all, but was discounted back in January.  Dead Realm is also not discounted at all because the devs apparently abandoned it.

This might be the second time but i just found a game with the servers closed in my queue. Cannot download it, cannot buy it, etc.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/380770

We all know Valve is an absentee owner when it comes to steam allot of time but this stuff really annoys me...
It's apparently been a dead game since March but no one took the game down. I'd say it's more on the developer to let someone know than on Valve meh we can't check every game but they seem very, very ESL so they probably have no clue how the hell stuff works.

If it was a normal site you could just contact support and they'd let someone know and it'd be removed. That's if it were a normal site. This is Steam we're talking about here some someone would have to make a big steam about it on youtube or some gaming press site or reddit. And seeing how the buy buttons are disabled that seems unlikely.

And that's fine really for stuff we're actually going to play.

The problem is that most people are freaking out because they wanted to further increase their insane backlogs (and I put myself in this category too) but at those prices it's really only buy it if you genuinely are going to play it right now.

Yeah, if you want to plus 1 it's pointless. Anything really cheap will or has been cheaper in a bundle. And anything worth playing, hasn't been bundled but is too expensive for a plus 1 and will be bundled eventually.

It was disappointing that a few games like Total War: Warhammer didn't get discounted at all.  But the sale is still pretty good.  It's better than no sale at all.   If there was anything you were considering picking up from the previous 1-5  years, most of it is at a very good price.

We just hate spending real money on appropriately priced games.  We're also still adapting from the disappearance of flash sales.
