EDIT:

Just saw Spoder's post about it in the Groupees thread, where he said "once again."

Damn, crazy stuff.

Dear developers of "Between Me & the Night",

If you're going to ask me to travel back and forth, room to room, while I examine and collect tchotchkes to solve puzzles, please give me a movement rate faster than that of an arthritic sloth.

Thanks.

Shouldn't you be used to that cuz ur old?

Exactly!  I only have so many days left in this world.  I can't spend them all watching some kid slowly plod across his kitchen for the fifth time.

Fallout 4 modding community is simply amazing and creative.

I've never seen such great modding support for any Computer game that has change my mind that not all Bethesda game mods are nude patches and big boobs till now.

Such creativity showed by these modders, they should be working for Bethesda themselves. 10/10 mod review.

Looking at the review score I think most people are looking for nude patches and boob jobs...

Oh yeah, I tried playing that the other day. Looked cool, but so slow. Getting on and off chairs just looked painful.

What is the ground-speed velocity of an arthritic sloth, and how does it compare to the air-speed velocity of an unladen swallow?

The GTX 1060 will release soon and MysterD recently got the 970. 1060 will have 980 performance or better with 2 more gigs of VRAM.

He's in a predicament.

After buying a 4GB 960 last year (around $202 or so) and a barely used "4GB" 970 this year (for $100) - I don't think I'm going to be looking for the 1060, 1070, or 1080 unless I can get any of those ultra-cheap, which I'd highly doubt would happen.

I'm still here running games @ 1080p here.

I probably will wait a few generations of NVidia cards before I buy my next (liklely NVidia) vid-card, like I usually + normally do.

EDIT:

I got really lucky with the 970 for $100 and especially with it being barely used (since the guy bought his new PC with that 970 card loaded in it and few weeks later decided to go for a 1080), I must say. I certainly wouldn't have bought it, if it wasn't that cheap and if it wasn't basically barely used.

For $100, I figured - "what the hell?" And if I didn't like the 970 card - hell, I probably could sell it off for more than I paid for it.

Of course, I'm happy with the 970 right now - so, it'll just stay put.

He's not the only one. I usually grind a card out for 4 years and i've only had my 970 for 1.

Of course, it will probably be 3 years before I catch any 10 series cards in stock.

Just a regular NVidia GTX 970, I'd say.

It wasn't marked on the card itself as say sort of flavor from EVGA, MSI, or whatever.

Nor was it marked w/ any sort of OverClocked Edition, FTW, or anything of that sort.

For $100 - fine with me. This 970 runs things a lot better than my 4GB 960 SSC did, as long as I don't push it past 3.5GB VRAM usage, of course.

I am curious b/c the 1st batch of 970GTX and some third party reference boards are super noisy.

Glad to hear that it works out for you, MysterD.  You can use the 960 as a PhysX and the 970GTX as your main.

I ain't really noticed or paid attention to its noise-factor, so it (thankfully) ain't bothering me.

Anyone here play elite dangerous? If so is it something you would recommend?
Do you have a hotas and FS?

I got Horizons for like $60 and only put 10 hours into it. Good game but I get sidetracked easily and started playing other games.

I would just get the base game of you can (since it has been $14)

Is it blower style like this? I'm never a fan of them since they're so noisy and run hotter overall. The last time I have a blower cooler was the GTX 670.

I put in a good amount of hours with it a while back with a few friends. It is fun if you dont mind hunting out missions and doing your own thing and making your own path. It can be easy to be distracted but it is fun. We did get the expansion but planets were pretty much a let down when it first came out, they've added more things and their end-season addons sound good as well

Honestly you dont even need a hotas. I played just fine with a 360 controller for a long while before I got the hotas and for certain things the 360 blows a hotas out of the water, like interdicting, a controller cant be matched for that

Cool. Sounds like something I would enjoy. Was looking at star citizen also but since that's still alpha idk if I wanna pay $60 for that.

yea my group of friends was in the same predicament. Waiting on star citizen, but at this point its all pie in the sky and nowhere near being a worthwhile purchase. Elite is at least a full fledged game and the base can be had relatively cheap during sales as well.  Id also expect them to start doing sales of base+horizons, probably see base at ~15$ and horizons for 15-25.

The later stuff they are adding this year in horizons is what IMHO is gonna make it worth it. Multi-user ships so you can fly with friends who man guns and have different roles, more crafting type stuff, customizing your pilot.

If your gonna wait for a sale, be sure to check frontier's own store when you do.  They usually match any steam drops and in that instance you'll get both a frontier copy and a steam copy.  It also makes frontier happier since steam doesnt get a cut, thats why they usually prefer people buying from their own shop

I have created a bro event for Wednesday for GTA V at an earlier time than normal.  This is a bit of a test run for earlier games.  I will be in Discord at 7:50 PM Eastern.  I am only making this comment here, so some may know in advance.  Not sure how many bros actually follow new events.
