 Anime Steals and Deals

**It is highly recommended you check the latest posts in this thread as they will often have the most up to date deals. I will attempt to reflect these sales in the OP, but always check the latest posts.**

Rightstuf

Rightstuf runs studio sales every week, sometimes even twice a week. These range from anime, manga, and even artbooks. Prices are decent, and Rightstuf has amazing customer service. I highly recommend them for that alone.

http://www.rightstuf.com/rssite/main/

You can save an additional 10% off a majority of their items (Including preorders) by buying their Got Anime membership

http://www.rightstuf.com/rssite/action/store/item/Item?ItemName=gotanime1

Amazon

Amazon tends to offer lower everyday prices on their anime, and often run sales on Funimation items routinely. Keep track on your favorites or check your daily deal's for a possible 5% off of some based off your history on Amazon.

(Also, I'd also recommend to check out Amazon's top 100 deals in Anime Bluray/DVD as they tend to show what's popular, or what is on sale.)

DVDPlanet / Deep Discount

Known by many for their bad customer service, they often make up for it with their lower prices on a lot of their items. This and they routinely run sales specifically for anime.

I highly suggest when you order from them to only order in stock items, and not ones that are backordered. Save yourself the displeasure of having to deal with the headaches. And patience is a must with these sites.

Cheapassgamer

Maybe you will find something here on our own forums! We have a thread dedicated specifically to Anime and Manga for sale from fellow Cags.

My order for FotNS has had its delivery date changed to 08/10 - 08/22.

Though I've seen where this sort of stuff ends up going in the past...

You Gotta Believe!

Ditto.

I'm not overly concerned. But then it's not like I don't have a billion other things to do at the moment. As long as it arrives eventually I will be fine.

That guy does great work. Wasn't a huge fan of Tokyo Ghoul, but I know I was in the minority.
I thought it was okay, but it was yet another anime when girl has powers first then guy she helps gets powers and he becomes way stronger than her.

Unrelated, anyone know if $50 is the best I'm going to be able to find Gunbuster for?

Plz stop making PS2-era CGI for Berserk, thx.

BAKEMONOGATARI, Part 3 $8.53
The Irregular at Magic High School, Vol. 3 - light novel $8.97
Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Sword Oratoria, Vol. 1 - light novel (and 2) $8.97

Hey, do you like Sword Art Online and want more Sword Art-y goodness? Well, Skydance Productions is making a live-action TV series of the show! Isn't that amazeballs?

Should I wait for the Haruhi ultimate CE to release or just pre-order it. Id hate to actually miss out on it.
I pondered about this too maybe a dozen pages back and mostly everyone who responded said that FUNi LEs aren't necessarily limited. It's a risk trying to save money (I can't see it dropping below $80 at the most extreme of sales) but I went ahead and pre-ordered it anyway from RS with my GA? discount. Better safe than sorry. I paid $35-40 for all the Dragon Boxes from Amazon as they came out and I'm the one laughing now.

So the code geass trailer at the end says own on bluray DVD and digital hd, is this funi saying it will contain a uvvu voucher or are they just saying you can also buy it digital I only ask because funimation is now including uvvu vouchers with movies

Does anyone know what the discs look like from the uncut version of Sankarea?  I'm looking at a used copy of it, but I want to make sure that someone didn't try and pull one over on the store and swap in their old, edited discs.

Here you go. These are what mine look like. Sorry if the pictures aren't that good but hopefully it'll give you an idea on what they look like.

Thank you. That was surprisingly difficult to find. My favorite were the "unboxing" videos where I got to watch the owners remove them from the shipping box, and then end the video.

Turns out they look the same as the edited ones, so I'll probably have to just buy it and return it if it's the wrong discs.

np and glad to help out. I'd have to go and find my censored ones now as I'm interested to see how similar they look.

Aren't the edited versions just removing or censor steaming, like, 30 seconds of boobs?
And no, it was gore and nudity irrc.

Weren't there a few boob scenes, one with his cousin too? Could also remove the gore. I thought there was a scene with intestines in it, but it's been a few years since I watched it. I don't practice Sankarea, I ain't got no crystal ball.

I found gubuster/diebuster CE set at a half price books for like $20.
I think it was on sale on Gohastings for a bit for $30 used
Looks like neither of those are on option currently and all the new listings on Amazon suddenly disappeared except one for $400...so I bought the only used one for $40 and I'll hope for the best :???:

RightStuf has some new themed Blind Boxes now. $5, $7.50, and $15 Shonen boxes, $15 Fanservice box, $5 and $10 Magical Girl boxes, and $5 and $10 Sports boxes.

Does the Got Anime membership stack with the weekly studio sales? I seem to remember RS blocking that in the past but it looks like it works now. At least i dont see the words "not valid for promotional discounts"

Yeah it does.

It's not as easy to tell since they just show you "your price" now, but the prices before and after discount are 10% lower than they would be for non-members.

Speaking of the rightstuf discount, does it work on the code geass collectors edition? Ive let mine run out and im debating renewing it

Basically as long as it doesn't say it's restricted from promotion discounts, then you're fine.

Once you have a membership, it'll actually just default everything that's eligible to that price, so if a discount doesn't show up on an item, then it doesn't apply.

They've been a little more relaxed nowadays with the way the discount works. I believe that's also one of the reasons why they re-did their store front, was so they could automate this system immediately during the checkout process.

In the past it was a bit more difficult to actually tell because you would only see the discounts once you've made the order, so you really had to look out for the ones that were marked not eligible for GA discounts.

"Not Eligible For Promotional Discounts"

Nope. :(

Yes it does, but not the full 10%. The non-member price is $104.99 and the member price is $97.99.

Which reminds me, have they come out and said anything about the Pizza Hut logos? I assume they will remain absent.

Thanks! I assume they will stay absent, i doubt very much funimation went to pizza hut to try and get permission to promote their product

I want to get Wagnaria Season 3 Part 1. I don't usually buy Aniplex. Do their releases ever get any worthwhile price cuts or go on sale, or should I just go ahead and buy it now?
