Humble Bundle Thread

Well, for my part, I think I should see whether someone's got an extra Octodad. The other two BTA games don't look appealing at all.

Still waiting for Chroma Squad, Banished and Talos Principle rebundles. :bouncy:
Chroma Squad in particular looks like perfect rebundle material, so I dunno what's the hold up. I also wonder what the monthlies in the future will consist of. Subnautica could be a good bet in the not so distant future, and so could Cities Skylines.

Eh. Not really impressed. I think that's largely due to the Humble Monthly though because if that didn't exist this would be an amazing bundle. It's not a total loss. Nice seeing The Beginner's Guide in PWYW. The BTA tier is decent enough to warrant a purchase.  Nuclear Throne at the $10 tier is underwhelming.

Lethal League has been bundled quite a bit recently it seems. Monthly, BS' Indie Legends, and now HIB. At least its $1 tier I guess. Next stop IG?

3 of the games being monthly repeats is what drags it down. No discontent towards those games being in regular bundles, but 3 in one shot is a bit much. The most expensive tier being a repeat is just silly though.

Beginner's Guide could have been monthly material, but it got sniped by the $1 Tier of this bundle. Interestingly, several decent monthly candidates, including Oceanhorn, Shadowrun Dragonfall, and and Savage Lands, have been taken out of contention. Which may explain why RAM got in a monthly instead.

The August one is weak but I guess one advantage of that is that the titles are very easy to find in the cesspool, at reasonable rates.

In for BTA. I've been wanting Octodad for a long time, and Super Time Force Ultra looks good too. Only repeat for me was Lethal League.

UGHHHGHHHHH

this is the first time i've bought a bundle where i'm not sure if i want to buy the 1 dollar tier, bta, or the top tier, or not buy it at all. they've done a perfect job of distributing the titles in a fashion where they teeter perfeclty between the "i guess i want that" and "man that's kind of mediocre" line of thinking where i'm paralyzed into inaction

Go top tier and donate it all to your favorite charity!

Eh, too much on the fence for me, will wait for next week to see what's added.  Might $1 it, but I gotta see if it comes back down at all.

You should penny lock it. That way you can at least afford to lose a penny or go all in later.

I may get this....but I kind of wish it had some more traditional languages, though Python is neat. I need to refresh myself on Java and C++ a bit and may get this just for the Javscript stuff, which I've worked with, but could use more practice.

That is true. I do kind of want to read Write Great Code 1/2, and the Javascript stuff. Some of those are throwaways easily, such as I really didn't like R when I messed with it, but would take a look at the F# one at least.

I work with R extensively, but there's really no reason to use it if you're not doing lots of statistics. It's strange that there's a book about it in the $15 tier.

Guess I'll be skipping this HIB unless the week 2 additions blow me away. Already have 5 of the games (Lethal League, The Beginner's Guide, Galak-Z, Super Time Force Ultra, and Nuclear Throne)

Great bundle for those who only have 1 or 2 though.

I just finished playing several hours of Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime. I know it has already had some praise in this thread so far, but I've also seen some concern about it being local co-op. I'm happy to say that it's completely playable in singleplayer. In fact, it takes on a completely different feel as you direct your AI pet to assist you in commanding the stations of the ship. They are as follows:

1. A station for each gun (N, S, E, & W)

2. An engine station

3. A shield station

And there are also stations for viewing the map and a limited-use super-gun. But those are not stations in which you'd need to spend much time.

The game itself is kind of an action-adventure space shooter. In singleplayer, it takes on an element of time management. In co-op, it's all-out action and fun. It's definitely a good couch game and if it had online co-op it would be a must-have for just about anyone.

I spent some time playing 3 player local as well as singleplayer and I really enjoyed both. It's maddeningly cute (though not sugar-sweet), slickly produced, and the action is varied and highly entertaining. If you like shooting brightly-colored things then you owe it to yourself not to let it rot in your Steam backlog. Give it a try.

Thanks for the review! I went ahead and went with the $10 tier since I really wanted Nuclear Throne, but I was wondering if Spacetime had a single player component. In other news, I got bored halfway through Galak-Z's opening tutorial and gave up. I miss the days of just playing a game and being forced to figure out the controls yourself without the game assuming you're dead from the neck up.

By virtue of the name alone being so stupid, I'm not touching this game.

So the Survive This bundle ends soon...Savage Lands and Kholat are worth it for $1 right?
I would say yes. On an unrelated note you single-handedly made me look up if it was possible to ignore someones signature. Turns out IT IS! Actually ended up turning them all off.

Oops my bad, was a work in progress. Was still messing around with it and then got distracted before I finished.

On the bright side, you learned something new!

Not sure if you did it the quick way or the longer way by going into the options... but if you look in the top right of a person's signature block you should see a giant X. Click it and you'll get the option to ignore that users signature or all signatures.

(If you're on a phone you'll likely have to tap on the signature box to see the X pop up.)

Obviously, this tip isn't much use to you anymore but maybe its helpful for others... I don't ignore all by default but many do cross my line on what I find obtrusive.

Probably console peasant bundle today.

HIB 17 adds:

- Hexcells Complete Pack

- Expand - Soundtrack Edition

- Regency Solitaire

New bundle IS a console bundle,  but its Capcom/PS3 and I dont care about that so not listing it :D

HIB 17 adds are IG level quality as far as Im concerned. Expand looks decent, Hexcells is decent, and so what about Regency Solitaire, but none of them scream BTA tier.
