This thread will attempt to provide a place to discuss past/present/future PC gaming deals. While mainly focusing on Steam games, any standout sales may also be presented. I will not be updating every Daily/Weekly/etc. sale. The tools to help individuals become a smarter shopper will be provided below.

See this POST for links to store sale pages, threads of interest and other tools to help you become a more informed PC game shopper.

path of exil is F2P and it was a fine ARPG (that MysterD never tried)
If you only play it thru once, it is indeed a fine ARPG. The problem becomes if you want to advance difficulty levels and be truly competitive you do need the extra storage and having to trade for the elite EQ you will need for a good build get pricey.

Agreed, and some that could afford it might shy away as well. Hell at the current fee, a lot of the sport(ish) text sim guys have been really really reluctant to use Steam (only SI (probably due to Sega backing) and OOTP have embraced it fully).
I wish Wolverine Studios would publish more of their games on Steam. I want to buy their new College Football game but I'd rather buy it from Steam than their webstore.

Well, Valve said they've gotten feedback "between $100 and $5,000", not that it will be $5k.

Ubisoft and Activision probably responded and said everyone should pony up $150,000 to be on the store.

That game looks awful but no FB/Twitter invites so in for one

Surely "Limed Reward Organization" is legit.

TL;DR "Greenlight sucked so we just said fuck it and removed any pretense of giving a shit what's in our store. Got a couple grand? You're in."
Yeah, they need to find a way to get more then a few cents from those devs whose games only get sold through bundles and only return .03 in card transaction fees.

I wish I had known you were interested in it...I had an extra copy that I recently got rid of
No worries, it's mostly just a passing urge and I'll pull a MysterD and be asking about it for 5 years.

While I agree that Steam has a bunch of junk titles added to it, I'm not sure that many smaller devs would be able to afford a $5000 fee. There are some decent indie games that probably would have never made it to steam with such a high fee.
While true, I am ok with sacrificing the 5% of good devs along with the 95% of complete trash on steam. They can offer their game on GOG and if it generates enough sales on there to create a profit and buzz, they can afford the entrance fee to Steam and still recoup that cost easily. Remember, its not $5k fee. It is essentially a $5k deposit which is paid back with sales of the game. These shit devs who do palette swaps and other stupid shit will never pay $5k cause they know they would never get it back. Sadly I think Valve will go with too low a price and the store will continue to be full of garbage.

Yeah, I'm waiting for Valve to charge $100 deposit and then a dev to post a blog "Why Steam's New $100 Deposit Hurts Indie Devs" where he lists all his monthly bills and then some white knights post "After reading this, I bought 10 copies at retail to support."

I was going to use part of that $100 to buy a Game Maker Humble Bundle at the BTA level for the Asset Pack and now I can't so the gaming community has suffered a great loss.

https://news.g2a.com/news/g2a-deal-a-daily-reveal/

February G2A Deal will have Superhot, Lords of the Fallen and Dirt 3 and more.

Superhot and 4 other games for less than $2? I doubt I'm reading this "bundle" right as Superhot is a game I expect to be in a top teir Humble bundle first before any places.

G2A and really suspiciously low price? seems too good to be true
UPDATE

Due to technical problems we were unable to start the service at announced time. We are still working to deliver G2A Deal as fast as possible. We regret the inconvenience. Stay tuned.

So the G2A thing is up but apparently you have to activate the keys by April or they are getting deactivated. I didn't see that listed on the main page but it damn sure told me that after I bought them. Also they still charge a fee for using PP. Whatever, SUPERHOT for $2 is ok with me. Also didn't have Syberia II somehow, not that I will ever play it.

~$2.66 + whatever fees G2A wants for Superhot (only game I want in that bundle) is a nice deal but I guess I'll wait for a Humble. Certainly will not subscribe to G2A  to save a buck and I expect if the Superhot devs are willing to bundle their game onto G2A for less than a fraction of $3, then the game will probably be in other bundles soon.

I can wait.

That's where I'm at. I'll gladly wait and buy it in some $5 bundle down the road to avoid doing any kind of business with G2A.

I kinda thought the same thing but also thought this may sour the Superhot devs on bundling so went ahead and grabbed it. Would have much rather seen it in the Humble monthly tbh.

Last time I tried to buy something from G2A, I left the room not knowing they would need a phone verification. Because of that, they blocked my account from making any purchases. I contacted support, was told to contact another department, which I did, received no response, and after a week they finally updated my ticket and subsequently banned my account for no reason. So yeah, fuck G2A.

Once a indie game has been bundled, its perceived value drops to whatever that lowest cost bundle was. Now I know the lowest amount that the devs are willing to essentially sell their product, I won't buy it in the future unless it reaches that low point again.

I have a huge Steam backlog, and they obviously need money. (given their partnership with G2A despite its controversial rep among indie devs). I can wait for another bundle

The only company whom I lost the waiting game to were Blizzard games & anything made by Hideo Kojima (though I'm still waiting for a good price on newest MGS)

Well.  Now that they have a good deal nevermind that the site, their workers, and their practices are shady as shit, right guys?!

They are still shady (due to past behaviors) but a "good deal is still a good deal." The two are not necessarily mutually exclusive

I'm not buying from them but I'm not going to shame others for getting onto this deal because its seems that the Superhot dev have agreed to this bundle with G2A . I proabably wouldn't have gone with G2A as my first bundle site (or sell my product for under $3) but, hey, its not my business.

Still dislike their G2A Shield and the PP fees they tack onto the end of purchases.

If you're looking for an arcade stick for 2D platformers or fighting games, pre-orders are available for Hori's new tekken 7 sticks at Gamestop and Arcade Shock

Both the PS4 version and Xbox One version works on pc.

Think I might do that $2 Superhot. IIRC the Humble monthlies are for games that weren't bundled before so that may (Assuming Humble even considers this a bundle) remove Superhot from the running, and though it may show up in some regular Humble bundle I won't feel too burnt by picking it up for $2.

Wait, wasn't Dirt 3 removed last month?

This probably means they got a ton of GFWL Dirt 3 retail keys from somewhere and are trying to offload them as soon as possible. Lords of the Fallen is Steamworks, so they probably fell off the same truck.

More like "Now that they have an agreement with the developer over selling this game...". Which is the basis for the other main complaints (devs not getting paid, a 'protection' program in case your key is revoked, etc). Saying "Now that it's a good deal" is silly since it was a "good deal" when someone would say "G2A has that new game for $6.77" and people would say "Ew, G2A" because God only knows where the key came from.

Does this mean a Dirt 3 bronight? Maybe play something that isn't total shit?
You should play the game where you visit the Steam group page, scroll down to 'Schedule an event' and then enter in the non-shit game you want to play.

I took  my semi-annual trip to Hong Kong and bought the super hot random bundle.  Didn't have Lords of the Fallen or Superhot and really wanted Superhot.

So who's going to be the first to admit they subscribed to save a dirty euro?

I did, but I couldn't find a way to cancel through g2a because I wasn't logged in when I subscribed.

Fortunately I paid with PayPal so it was easy enough to cancel it as a pre-approved payment.

Learn from my mistake, friends.
