What's the consensus on ultrawide monitors? Local pawn shop has a 34" LG monitor with freesync for $190. Problem is it's 1080p and I'm used to 1440/144 with GSYNC.
Worth the askin price or just wait on a better deal?S
I'm a big fan of UW, no secret there, but if you're used to higher resolution and higher refresh rates, you might want to try it out first. Not sure if the pawn shop has a way for you to demo it or maybe you can go to best buy and see if they have any on display. I never had an issue with it, but some people do complain about it.
The price isn't bad, I just don't know what your relationship is with the pawn shop if something goes wrong. Monoprice sells refurbs for $240 so there's that option too.
what about game that dont support ultrawide? does it impact ur overall experience?
Basically, if a game or show doesn't support it, it reverts to using like a 24'' 1080p monitor with the black bars on the side. For my 29'' at least, I assume the 34'' would revert to more like a 27'' 1080p monitor.
Last night Fox, myself, Jimbo and Sasquatch played some Rainbow Six Siege (with various randoms filling slot #5) with the intent of getting some crates. This plan was somewhat neutered by the requirement to win in order to qualify for a roll on a crate drop. We did win one game (no crate for me though) and lost the other three or four although our only shut-out was against some obvious pros, all with the same clan tag, who were just rolling the n00bs in Casual. Fox fought people for the right to play as IQ seven times for some "birthday" event and then realized that he never activated the event flag to track his plays.
Tonight is Rocket League, a game in which I am terrible and have never gotten even a little better. Games like DbD and BF1 I started terrible at but I put in some hours and learned to at least phone in a credible performance. Yet Rocket League somehow resists any efforts on my part to not suck. They also have crate drops although I don't believe that they're marketable on Steam (neither are RSS's for that matter). My son restarted the game recently on the Xbox One and spends 90% of his time just trading wheel rims and nitro burst effects and maybe 10% actually playing playing. Hopefully he's that industrious with his college career.
I had a ton of fun last night RSS, despite losing most of the night. I felt I was getting a little better, especially spectating people like Sasquatc4 and Twisting Torque. Getting a kill on Torque was exciting and I still am proud of my panicked round win when I killed 3 of the other team at the end. Maybe I'm best when I'm panicked. I won a Alpha pack on my roll, but then I bought two more with my renown (4500 renown each or save up like 100K renown for 25). I got a cool skull gun skin and a cupcake charm in those.
Also, I realized you could just choose IQ in lone wolf and kill yourself and repeat 7 times to finish the challenge, so I did that last night.
And woo! CheapyD officially played with the bros! Don't think there's anything else left for the bros to do.
Same here. I like RL, but I'll never get better at it, mostly because I can't stay playing the same game too much time. That's why I stopped playing R6 too. Was playing with some friends and they became very competitive (more than 1000hs played) and I don't like playing like that, I' m just playing for fun, so I left.
If you can ever make a bro night, we tend to have fun playing and aren't pros, well except for Sasquatc4 and Jimbo, but we need the good people to carry the rest of us.
