Yeah, Gamefaqs is a double edged sword when it comes to getting new people... it's rather mixed bag over there. At least no one linked to this site on a post in LUE. I don't think we could withstand that :)

I did that last week -- literally.

It was a link to the chat room here, and not the main messageboards, but it was definitely a link.

In my defense, it was in the middle of the night, and I was supposed to be granting wishes, so you need to go after the person who made the wish.

Well, perhaps it isn't as bad as I thought. I used to post on LUE, back a few years ago.. I've looked in every so often, but one can only stand reading the same out drivel and filth thats been pumped out of there so long. There still are many good threads to read over there, but I got tired of sifting through the leet-speak, fad topics, and unspeakable filth that finds it's way there. Of course, I can't bash anything too much... I still look at the Next Generation Gaming board over there fairly frequently.

I did, after I got on a dedicated server.
I think someone posted a link or something a month or two earlier which wound up crashing my server and making my host very angry.
 
yeah, I came from fark too, the only advertisement I've actually found useful. and what is LUE?
 
I actually remember looking on google for sites that gathered gaming deals, although I don't remember what the search terms were on the one that hit.
 
I came from EGM also...hmmm 3 own this site...I know about Cheapy D...and Neko owns Cheapy....but who is the third one?
(That's ok Cheapy, my wife owns me too....well I let her think that :D )
 
I googled "cheap video games" and CheapAssGamer.com stood out like a sore thumb I had to follow the link to see what was there.
 
I started listening to the CAGcast first...and then abit later signed up on the site etc. Bit of a wierd order tbh!

I cant even remember how i found the CAGcast :whistle2:s

I think I was googleing somthing and one of the posts from here came up, and I just decided to stay. xD

Same here. Last time this thread was made it seemed most the people on here at the time found it that way.

Its interesting to see how that doesnt seem to be the case with the newer members now.
 
I was on Gaia Online where someone was trying to set up a thread to post deals for games, then a guy posted this site, so I left that Hellhole and joined heaven.
 
I found out via DVDTalk, I had heard people talking about CAG in their video game section, and finally asked someone what it was, and ended up here in mid-2004.
 
My homo transsexual cousin was browsing the deals on the 4th of July, 2004. I thought, "Hey, I like cheap games!" and joined. The rest is history.
 
When I first received my Xbox 360, I wanted Microsoft points to buy tracks for Rock Band. Being a cheap ass, I wanted free points. Thus I came across this site and joined.

They had a story in the News section about Speedy's thread announcing the PS3 price drop at CC. To me, it's kind of like how alot of people in CA became Hockey fans after the Wayne Gretzky trade.

For me it was a Google search as well. I was searching for info about pre-ordering a PS3 and one of the first results was a CAG thread.
