Given how many controller problems both those companies have I wouldn't be too proud of that. Joy cons may be the least reliable controllers of the modern era and I can get my xbox controller to drop connection by interrupting LOS to my xsx.

The dual sense leaves a lot to be desired too(why cant i just turn off the frickin light bar or get a charge percentage?) But I have had fewer issues in regular operation at least.

Shameless plug: my game Emerald Shores is $1.74 ($0.99) in the PlayStation Indies Sale.. basically "Super Mario World with light RPG elements + sidequests + minigames," about a 1-2 hour main story and about a 3-4 hour plat. Cross-buy with the PS Vita version (Vita version should show up as "Free" after buying the PS4 one). There's also a free strategy guide available here
I grabbed it. :)

Gameplay vids seemed fun enough. I'm a sucker for games with rpg elements and I always loved Super Mario World, so why not for less than $2. Good luck to you Josh!

The only thing that annoys me about updating the controller software is the fact that you can't even do it when the controller is connected to the console's USB-C port.  It has to be connected via the USB2 port.

I'm 80% sure the only time I ever plug in my DualSense in for any reason is the USB-C port. I'll have to watch it next time but I would swear that's what I use to do updates.

Grabbed Forbidden West hard copy with upgrade for $28.50 on GF.
that sounds tempting, but honestly i think it'll be on extra or premium and i get enough psn from gamestop for that (5 accounts, $50 in store+$50 online a month= $100 per month in psn). no better way to spend it imo

yeah it'd probably last a hell of alot longer if we could turn off the light bars on these controllers.

I could only follow the all the games in the PS+ Premium and monthly games. I could not download or claim any of them. A reset fixed it. Weird.

State of play the same day Nintendo has a direct? Interesting. Expect about ~20 minutes of reveals, new updates and fresh gameplay footage for 10 games coming to PS5, PS4, and PS VR2.

That was underwhelming. Ishin was definitely the high point. Syn Duality, Stellar Blade and Rise of the Ronin were cool but everything else was either old news or not my cup of tea (the VR games were not flattering, especially Demeo).
They really botched the PS Stars segment, the little info they provided sounded like a NFT system.

Ishin, Fatal Frame IV, Hogwarts Legacy... is this what it’s like to feel excited about video game releases? I’d kind of forgotten.
No matter what console you play on, today was a good day for gamers. Also, I know this isn't Playstation, but kids are gonna catch a fade online in Goldeneye on the Switch when i play slaps only and use Oddjob.

Created just for PlayStation Stars, these digital collectibles can only be earned through our loyalty program. In some instances, collectibles will be provided as a way to commemorate past activities, achievements, or product ownership. They range in rarity, just like the actual products on which they are based or the effort required to earn them. Once you’ve earned collectibles, you can arrange them in a virtual display case within the PlayStation App and, if you choose, you may display your collectibles case within your PSN profile to friends. There will be different ways to acquire or earn collectibles – the primary way will be through completing campaigns.

The campaigns in PlayStation Stars will be fun, delightful, and yes, sometimes challenging to complete. A campaign may be a point-earning or collectible-earning activity. One of our first campaigns is “Hit Play/1994,” where members who correctly launch games that match song-based clues receive a special collectible. More campaign details to come.

PlayStation Stars will first launch on the PlayStation App and expand to our console platform in the future. We will launch PlayStation Stars in most markets starting later this month with Asia (including Japan), and the Americas and Europe to follow at a later date.

The blog post just makes it sound like a digital trophy case (think the badge system on Steam). I'm glad this is what we lost most of the points earning methods on Sony Rewards for..
I expect them to stop putting effort into it within a year or two.

Rise of Ronin looked cool, but when 2024 came up I knew it was likely revealed too early, but it looks cool. Ishin looks neat and GoW: R also looks cool, although I need to play the first. Syn Duality looks relatively lame, but I'll keep an eye on it. Stellar Blade does look neat though, but another will wait for reviews on release. It was an OK state of play, although I feel Nintendo hit it more out of the park with their direct. Maybe I just like Farming games, but I wanted to play those a lot more than some 2024 release, which I will buy on release (I love samurai games), and Ishin which I'll get immediately. Everything else is wait till release, with GoW:R maybe being a buy if I finish the first game before it comes out.

Not even worth buying again, I know I'm better of playing the ps3 version that I haven't finished. Technically I'm better off not playing it at all since i beat it around 4 times on game cube, which I had the LE of, the poster and artbook. Matter fact I gotta finish the tales game in vita and buy vesperia and arise. Anyways someone posted a tales of legendia ps5 version called rainbow edition from 4chan on N4G which I call fake.

Square Enix being the publisher is surprising
Their Collective label picked it up shortly after it's Early Access launch on Steam. It was Square's 2nd biggest seller after FFXIV last year.

As a heads up if it's like the Xbox version, the controller mapping and controls aren't that great and is a lesser experience to the PC version. I had to do a lot of remapping to make it better on a controller, though the sticks aren't as responsive as the mouse for the quick sweeping motions you can do to finish jobs more efficiently and faster.

This game is easily my Game of the Year.

Been wanting to play it since I first saw the game. Hopefully the release is soon and not 3 months from now lol

Not seen it mentioned recently, but PS5 version/upgrade of Outer Wilds released today and is now available (for free) to those who own the PS4 version. If you own the DLC as well, same process for redemption—just go to the game’s page and then scroll down to the Add Ons (should show up as Free).
