I haven't followed the thread closely for a while but did Doug stop coming around? I'm curious as to how they still have stock from games released more than 2 years ago. I know the joke is about Jumanji but more shocked about One Way Heroics and Lawbreakers.

I once again totally forgot about the blowout sale resulting in missing a couple of things I wanted namely,

Cthulhu Saves Christmas (Switch)

Corpse Killer (Switch)

But I still was able to nab

The Friends of Ringo Ishikawa

Double Dragon Kunio-kun Retro Brawler

So 50/50 on what I wanted to pick up ain't to bad.  Also I wasn't planning on but gave a second look & picked up a copy of

Ender Lilies Quiets of the Knights (PS4)

If I had more money to blow/space there were a few other things I would like to get but all in all I'm pretty good with everything

The Mrs got Fata Morgana LE (would have taken regular but didn't even realize it was available, oops). We also did a second order for a bunch of PSVR titles we didn't have and other odds and ends. I waffled on Wizard of Legend and it went OOS, oh well. Was really surprised by the stock - wonder where they dug this shit up from.

I'm assuming they're left over copies for returns and replacements in case of defective, damaged or lost-in-transit product.

It's weird that they have so many from years ago though, including some from past Blowout Sales sales. There were some games from past BO Sales that I remember running out of copies before I could buy them, but now they have so many that I had 5000 people ahead of me in queue, but still got the games I wanted. Happy about it, just think It's stange..

I'm guessing the queue is not accurate since it counted down at a consistent pace (about two "people" per second), but I am surprised how many games are still left over from this sale. And I wish they had announced carrying the Astro City Mini V earlier last year, since I hurried to get a unit from another Japanese site (which had sold out).

I was about 2 minutes too late trying to get To The Moon CE (NSW). Ended up getting Castlevania Collection CE (NES Box Style). Love the artwork on it.

I'm still hoping 2023 will have them go out strong on the carbon engine to prove that Embracer's purchase was smart and that's at least a direction I can hope for them to turn around their woes in, since if we get lots of Carbon reissues of stuff like Rendering Ranger R2 (already confirmed), Clock Tower, Snatcher, Twinkle Tale, Keio Flying Squadron or other such rare games... Hoooo boy, that would be exciting and i'd gladly support those digitally. Still never touching a physical product from their site ever again with the current shape of things though, especially not their CEs ever again
Get me an official English release of Policenauts and I'll say something nice for a change!

Lol... didn't realize the name of the thread changed.
I wouldn’t be shocked if it’s because the distro-happy/quantity rich nature of their output lately. Sums up pretty much how I feel. Least there’s less FOMO as a result of it.

Who else wants to take bets it’ll have a bugged/borked disc like monkey island did: least the USB means you’ll get the game physically regardless (and PC CEs take the longest so I’m expecting this to ship no earlier than 2024)

Clearly when Doug was in here talking about how they were re-evaluating their approach to CEs, he actually meant they were diving even deeper into ridiculously over-packed CEs…

I'd rather it not be limited. I don't want to fight y'all to get a game I really want.

The CE is ass. How hard is game, steel book, soundtrack for a reasonable price.

They've been saying they'll slow down for years now:

Which is why I remain perpetually cynical. To be clear, I don't believe there's any malice at play, just that what they're currently doing is profitable and that they are a for-profit business. Until their model becomes unprofitable, don't expect anything to change.

At least we still get to see the sealed games and toys they get from said profit.

Yeah if it wasn’t clear from all that happened it’s blatant Doug came here for damage control and little else because a certain chaotic individual was being accused of being him (when that wasnt the case). Same reason he did an AMA on reddit where they repeated the same answers they usually give and ignored the critical ones.

Also it’s funny that despite getting antsy over javascript sales numbers during preorder phase and saying the numbers are not true (I took JS classes in College, I literally made this kind of field for a faux e-commerce site lmao) they recently did finally fix the loophole and mess with the numbers more, which they claimed to have already done beforehard even though there weren’t massive dumps in the inventory field when looking at games from months and months ago. (which showed they struggle to hit MOQ unless it’s a no brainer like radiant silvergun)

I’m really just here to keep an ear on things and also share what i know or hear about ETAs of interest. Because LRG sure ain’t interested in sharing such (that and I’m patiently waiting for my Valis vinyl order from last year, which is my final order from them, and that’s expected to take a bit due to vinyl being vinyl)

I'm mainly here because most everything of interest gets posted here.

I'm also here because I've been here since day 1 when they showed up to promote Breach & Clear to the vita diehards (of which, I was one) and the whole idea of their company. It's been interesting following the ups and downs and the reality show it has been.

My last order was the standard Castlevania Collection (Switch), though I have bought a couple other LRG games since then that went to retail.

It's kind of strange the affect this company has managed to make on me. It's played a large part (as have other factors) in why I buy so little these days and how I've refined my physical game purchases to specific series I follow and only the occasional game beyond that when it ticks a lot of boxes. Also it's made me more inclined to buy digital on indie games and other smaller games when they go on sale and skipping even considering a physical. But even then I'm somewhat picky about what I buy and I mostly rely on trying demos first. I'm a lot less adventurous in my purchases. Even clearance games, I mostly just avoid that stuff and buy what I want to begin with and walk away from most everything else.

how did they lighten the burden on fans, all I ever saw was more and more games coming out to take peoples money during the entire pandemic while LRG got a PPP loan as I recall

the high point of this thread was last week of us talking about what games we secured from the LRG sale. It was nice seeing that.

Now, the male karen’s have taken over once again

Well that's the thing: people can like a product and still have problems with the company (as you said, the wait times). We're vocal in hopes of change. We don't want LRG to fail or anything, we just want to be respected more. Like any company, or any successful person, they wouldn't be anywhere without the people that do business with them/buy from them.

Don't take time to consider who works for the company, JUST BUY.

There's already a term for Male Karens, it's Kevin. Yeesh, if y'all are gonna be chudly then at least be accurate.

Love the overall whining of folks having conversations on a forum. Some of y'all have been here long enough that's just regular forum affairs. And we're all still talking about LRG.

Want better conversation, either start some or, yah know, LRG could actually do what they promise.

who are you talking to hmmm?

If anyone wants to talk about what they bought, they're absolutely welcome to. Be the change you want to see.

Personally I've only got one outstanding order through them directly - the original Shantae on PS4. I think I have a few of their distro titles pre-ordered on Amazon but I'm not 100% sure. They put out so much that it's hard to remember what they're involved in anymore. My view's pretty similar to nightc1's. The never-ending flood of releases has made me more open to buying digital on sale and more picky on what I do buy physically.

Zombies ate my neighbors repro…

I’m guessing at this point I won’t see it before the 2 year mark, minimum.

I also never learn my lesson so I’ve got KOTOR 2 pending as well…

Edit- Well technically Bird King Vita for my complete Vita set as well, but let’s be real, that’s never gonna happen.

Pretty sure he's talking to that newbie/lurker with the old account that has 40 posts on cag and chimed in that people were male karens. Note that person also felt the highlight of conversations here were people chiming in with what they bought from LRG last week.

Like I'm interested to some degree in what people buy but it's not something that brightens my day. What kind of person gets off on people spending money at this company?

Does anyone know what "flat rate shipping" entails?

Usually I group 3 games in an order so that i gets shipped in a box for around $5-6 shipping, but there is a new shipping option available called "flat rate shipping" that is around a dollar cheaper.

x sized box thats specific dimensions for x shipping rate from USPS (im assuming only USPS has flat rate shipping boxes)

Pretty easy thing to know; don't apply for a public facing position with bad takes. Of all the jobs you can have, including within marketing and advertising, perhaps don't do the community manager role.

Or, just keep your hot takes to yourself and don't post online.

Kinda more odd that LRG wouldn't do their own research in hiring a PR person.

But given their track record on actual product delivery, it's all baling wire and duct tape solutions with that team.

Please just stop this. Everyone has moved on.

To everyone else: We are sorry and took the necessary steps.

This may have been asked, but is there any info on Tunic? I'm pretty interested in playing this, but I'm holding out to see if it comes to LRG.

That would probably be a massive get since it got so many GOTY nominations (hard for an indie game to go against GoW and Elden Ring).

Definitely would love to see that.

LOL same affect on me. Ironically they’ve pushed me to buy less physical and more digital ! I’m tired of waiting 1.5 years for orders and I’m tired of their excuses and lies. I also find it interesting how their sales have declined…. and seeing how they try to combat that. They extend the Konami arcade classic order (thanks for throwing the customers who bought it under the bus by making them wait even longer now) and reminding everyone Castlevania is on the disc.

Yes I point out the negative about LRG, but then I figure that balances out their PR on this site cause all they say is how great they are.

They also hosed customers on Sol Cresta. Can’t import it because of LRG, and can’t buy it from LRG anymore…. so they are preventing physical sales of a game !!!!

funny part is even the physical is technically "not complete" anymore because of the surprise launch of the old ships from Moon-Terra Cresta II... So what was the point of the standards taking 9 months? What caused it?!? Not that LRG can predict every DLC drop coming ever, but yeah Steam Deck is pretty much my go-to and it's where i ended up getting Sol Cresta in the end.

Wing Galiber II is a crazy fun ship and honestly makes it so addicting: but on the other hand if that DLC only exists because the game in general did well I'll understand and I think that's a W for platinum, they need them. If I see a game in this thread i haven't heard of before but it looks dope I just put it on my steam wishlist now, since during my LRG era I jumped into many indie games blind thanks to discovering them there, and had lots of fun doing so with stuff like RealMyst.

That would probably be a massive get since it got so many GOTY nominations (hard for an indie game to go against GoW and Elden Ring).

Definitely would love to see that.
Wasn't fangamer the company that announced a big plushie line for the game? i swore them or 8bit did. Maybe they're doing it since the whole "map bundle with game" gimmick is a thing Fangamer does a lot and tunic arguably needs that in-game manual made into physical the most lol

I really hope someone makes a physical version of that manual. Would prefer Fangamer so there’s a chance I can buy it separate from all the other stuff. Kinda over complex CEs. Just give me a nice hardcover dev book and the game.

There's gotta be a reason they make HD remakes of Grandia before touching Skies of Arcadia. Perhaps a case of lost or damaged source code?

I wish they would tell us what is going on with Sol Cresta. My standard edition has been in their warehouse ready to ship since 2 December. Are they holding them back for some reason? Does it have to do with this new DLC or the situation with the Japanese release?

I swear I thought they lost the source code to the Dreamcast and then that's why they put it on the gamecube because they found most of it. They also we're going to put it to the PS2 at one point

Dreamscaper and Turtles VHS Edition showed up today. The VHS edition is really nice, looking forward to more of these in the future.  Hopefully they don't make us ever decide between VHS edition or Steelbook!

Wrapped up pretty nicely in bubble wrap, so no damage whatsoever.

You should get some NECA Turtles.  They are seriously excellent.  I have a bunch of them now.  Some of the nicest looking toys and window box displays ever created.

2023 and still no idea when I’ll get my Axiom Verge 1&2 CE from late 2021. I really should have ordered the double pack separately so I’d at least have one physical set in my hand

Not sure about Twitter, but the topic de jour is blocked on Discord.

The unofficial official Facebook group is a hot mess of Heated Gamer Moments™ and hot takes.

I don't do Twitter outside of lurking Wario64; wonder if LRG et al are blocking folks?

It's kinda crazy how folks are responding to a pretty normal issue; LRG did what any corporation would do these days that doesn't court a very specific segment of the population looking for gold investments or food buckets.
