Video Recap: The Deer God, Rive, Citizens of Earth, and More!

Posted by FriskyTanuki in Time Paradox!, in SmashPad, Youtube 31 January 2015 - * * * - - · 10579 views

Rather than post a new blog for each video, I figured I would hold off and offer up a recap of my most recent videos covering a variety of games. Covered below are Citizens of Earth, The Deer God, Halo 5 Guardians' MP Beta, Rive, and Trials Fusion.

I checked out the Halo 5 Guardians Beta and found out that I'm still not good at Halo MP, but still had fun...

"Pixels" Is Another Adam Sandler Classic

Adam Sandler has yet to put out or star in a bad movie and Pixels continues his tradition as the "funniest man alive". Every time I think that Hollywood has run out of original ideas or that the movie industry is dead this man comes out with another film that changes my mind completely and forces me to watch...

Infamous Second Son is better than Infamous 2 (Hear Me Out) SPOILERS

So I'm nearing the end of my first playthrough of Infamous Second Son. Is it perfect? No. Better than Infamous 2, I think so. Now before anyone gets out the pitchforks this is where I'm coming from...

The one thing that SS does extremely well is it nailed the gameplay. The city traversal is so much more fun than in the past two iterations. There is no mo...

We had a few people at SmashPad that went to San Diego Comic Con to enjoy the show and play some games, which means that they've written up impressions on a number of big and small games that I wanted to share with you.

Chibi-Robo! Zip Lash
Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden

The Bottom Barrel Bargain Bazaar (Part 4 - Final)

Posted by Syntax Error in Syntax Error's Blog, 17 June 2015 - * * * * * · 1056 views

Welcome back to the final edition of the Bottom Barrel Bargain Bazaar. I only have five games left in the "49¢ or less" category and they're not going to play themselves -- although that would be supremely helpful. The batch last time was a chore but that means things can only be on an upswing, right? So set your Big Lots copy of Locating Zemo: A Non-D...

Gwent

Posted by GnarKills in GnarKills' Blog, 08 June 2015 - - - - - - · 550 views

There comes a time when a video game has an attached mini game in it that gets me absolutely hooked. The first that I can remember was Triple Triad(Final Fantasy 8) and then it was Blitzball(Final Fantasy X). I couldn't get enough of these two games and found myself playing them as much as I did the main game itself.

As I started The Witcher 3 this week...

ps3, Afrika, review, trophy guide

Afrika (PS3) Review + Tips Afrika is another early playstation 3 game, released in the US in October of 2009. It is only available on disc (not PSN) and is out of print. Note, when hunting for a copy be sure to get the Natsume version (the purple logo is on the lower right corner of the case) as that is the official Region 1 edition. It is the only version of the game to get a patc...

Thrustmaster TX Review To determine whether you should purchase the Thrustmaster TX wheel, you can watch 10 minute videos from sim racing fanatics, you can read Amazon reviews from people who may or may not be overly critical or you can simply consider the following.

The Thrustmaster TX wheel works with both the Xbox One and the PC. For the purposes of this review, I have used...

Thanks for all the memories Everquest

Posted by Klank in Blog Klank, 27 May 2015 - * * * * * · 738 views

Thanks for all the memories Everquest I've played EQ and EQ2 for about 15 years and it has been one of my favorite series to collect for. I have always loved all the cool maps and things that would come in the boxes. The Keith Parkinson box art was always top notch. It was sad that he passed away so young. I never felt the covers were as good with any of the new artists.

There are still a fe...

Happy Memorial Day to everyone who has served or is currently serving in the armed forces. Thank you for your service. You know, life is funny as I write this post with eyes still stinging and dry from wood smoke of a grill. Today was a funny day. I ate hot dogs and watched John Wayne movies. A sink full of dishes and insatiable need to watch Star Trek: T...

Dead Space Videos and Other Such Things I've posted a complete playlist of my 12-part condensed video playthrough of Dead Space over on my YouTube channel. Maybe check it out, why not? The whole thing was meant to be a Let's Play style of playthrough with text commentary, but the in-game sound started to distort, making it unusable. So, I decided, since the idea was to edit the footage down an...

Like you all, I was incredibly concerned and losing sleep over the possibility of it not happening. I'd lie in bed at night and wonder "what if it doesn't happen? Would they really let us down like that?"

Night after night went by, and more information kept coming out, but not the information we needed. As the day is getting closer and closer I and every...

Tales from the Otherguy - Tokyo and Akihabara buyer's guide

Hello all.

I have just returned from Japan from my honeymoon. My fantastic wife agreed to spend most of the time in Tokyo within a 5 minute walk from Akihabara. When I went to Japan, I checked out all the Akihabara buying guides. While I believe Jeremy Parish had posted the best one, none of them quite did it for me. So I decided to make one of my ow...
