I haven't heard anything in So Cal about that 10% bump, hope it happens here though.

My bday coupon expires soon, wondering if I should just buy a game that trades in for $30 to get that 30% bonus. Between that and the 20% off, I'd about break even on a game with a base of $48 to buy and get free points.
Maybe one of the MAR10 games will pop back up to $30 base? Most likely Mario Maker 2.
No switch games I'm interested in at the moment.
If this is frowned upon I apologize but I have a $200 GS gift card that I want to use on an XSS. But if I can get it somewhere else, I might consider it.
Then I’d be stuck with the $200 gift card. Other than spending it over time on games (I honestly could do that this year) is there any way to convert it to cash? My only idea would be to buy a large item used, then return it with satisfaction guarantee, but would they then put on a gift card instead of cash/credit card?
It’s a first world problem for sure any advice is appreciated.
See if anyone wants EShop/PSN/Xbox credit and offer a 10% discount. I sold a bunch of EShop this way early last year using credit to fund the cards.
So -sorry, just clarifying- an Xbox One 500gig that's listed as trading for $75 right now will get a $50 bonus? So $125, total?
I'm assuming that's credit only, not if you choose cash?
Thanks for the info.
Yes, the bonus is credit only.
I'm going to call later but does anyone know if they will take in an Xbox One S that doesn't make it to make it to the home screen? It powers and displays but even after trying the offline update, it won't get past 50% on the setup screen before throwing up the "Something went wrong" screen.
Typically they will but will charge a refurb fee. I traded in a PS4 Pro that had a blinking blue light last month.
Basically someone walks in with something we'd all want (maybe a limited edition 3DS) and while the employee is ringing in the trades I walk up to the customer and offer him $20 more in cash than what the employee is offering. It's tempting to do but very fucked up.
I got banned from my old GS that I used to work out years ago for doing this. I had just quit anyway, so I didn't care.
I got an order in with a confirmation email but no $30 gc yet. At least I got some PS4 games I can toss in with a system I plan on selling.
Edit: GC came through. Trying for one more order.
Put in a 2nd order for delivery and it's been 30 minutes with no GC. Hoping it is just taking a while. GC is in the order confirmation.
Edit: Just had to complain about it. I used the 2 gift cards to get SM3dW + BF.
One of my local Gamestops is closing, are there any recommendations for good boomerangs with used games being 40% off?
Also, how long before consoles end up going on sale? They've got a Mario Game and Watch, but MSRP is too steep for me. I might nab it if it goes below $30 though.
Any switch games that have a $48 base cost but trade for $30 base like Breath of the Wild. If you do the pre-order bonus it's points + ~$9 in credit per game.
Adding in that Mario Odyssey also is $30 base TIV today and is also $48 before tax.
LoZ Breath of the Wild
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
3 of these will get you $117 in TIV credit for $103.xx in credit cost (at least where I am).
there a few more $30 trade in switch games. Not sure what the $43.20 is though?
$48 for used then -10% for Pro discount
Also, while games like Animal Crossing NH are also $30 base, the cost is $55 base used. So not nearly as good to get.
GameStop President Day Sale (article by Gamespot - S. Petite)
- Buy 2 Get 1 Free on all used games
Starts tomorrow & sale ends Feb. 15
Free points and a bit of credit for trading in:
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - $39 after 30% bonus. $43.20 + tax cost
Smash Bros Ultimate - $39 after 30% bonus. $43.20 + tax cost
LoZ Breath of the Wild - $39 after 30% bonus. $43.20 + tax cost
If you get lucky and find 3 of them at a store, cost would be roughly $93 in credit and you'd get $112 credit after the $5 down.
