#14028558 PSN Flash Sale ends 7/23 @ 11 AM ET/8 AM PT

Posted by CheepyDee on 20 July 2018 - 03:31 PM in Video Game Deals

Nothing super exciting. There seems to be a Resident Evil sale every few months.

If it's always on sale, then it's never on sale.
:)

#14028556 Nintendo eShop Deals - 7/30: DBZ & Two Tribes Sales! $8 Chasm,...

I like the fact i can choose what I like, and not be told what is “good” and what shouldnt be allowed on the system.

What one person likes doesnt mean everyone likes.

This is true. My point however is that by turning this into modern day Steam, it's actually MORE difficult to conveniently find quality games. All you have to do is look at Steam to understand what this eShop is slowly becoming. Nintendo has stated they want 20-30 games per week on eshop. That tells me they value quantity over quality - another Steam marketplace failure. I don't see how anyone could think that's a good idea for the regular gamer (unless you think the likes of the Apple app store and Steam are healthy marketplaces, of course).

It's a bubble that's going to burst and may possibly hurt even the most reputable of 3rd party developers. There is such a thing as too much, especially in this industry.

There's no denying that Steam isn't as healthy of a store because they have oversaturated the marketplace. Repeating this history would be an oversight on Nintendo's part.

These games lists are looking a lot like Steam nowadays. A bit nauseating, really. I remember the days where, if a game was put on the eShop, it was most likely good. Now a good game is the exception.

Same sale prices once again. These have been incredibly underwhelming as of late.

Cool, got one. Positive reviews.

Great price of Shadow of War but I'll wait for the inevitable BB $16 w/ GCU sale.

Valkyria Chronicles Remastered is fun but it's pretty buggy and cutscenes tend to skip at times. Overall it's a poor port with a mediocre texture upgrade.

VC will be dirt cheap soon - I'd wait. I got the PS4 digital version in a cheap Humble Bundle a few months ago. Calling it - $5 by September.

#14026598 Amazon Prime Day Video Game Deals Persona 5 $29.99, Yakuza 6 $34.99

#14026374 Amazon Prime Day - yay?

Posted by CheepyDee on 16 July 2018 - 10:50 PM in Video Game Deals

The best thing to come from this was that competitors like Newegg and Monoprice answered with better sales xD

There was a nice Ryzen 2700x + x470 mobo como for instance =D

When it comes to SlickDeals and CAG, I feel lately I've been wasting a ton of time chasing dead deals. Just me? Of course I don't blame the messenger, but still...

#14024607 Best Buy Ad 7/8-7/14

Posted by CheepyDee on 14 July 2018 - 02:44 PM in Video Game Deals

Mario + Rabbids @ $24 is very good with those w/ GCU. Very tempting.

How is Christmas in July sales?

Is it still considered "tempting" if it's been this same price for months now? I say piss or get off the pot.

#14024214 Target Clearance Thread XXII

Posted by CheepyDee on 13 July 2018 - 01:41 PM in Video Game Deals

I appreciate the work that gets put into this thread however Im not sure what use it has for the grand majority of us since is YMMV. If you're coming here, then going to Target frequently in mere hopes they'll have the particular clearance game, you're wasting your time.

#14024212 Official Collector's Edition Compilation IX - 2018

Posted by CheepyDee on 13 July 2018 - 01:38 PM in Video Game Deals

Some of these indie devs should realize that you first have to become a hit, THEN make a limited edition. Bleed 2? Are you serious? Perhaps the markup is so ridiculously huge that maybe it costs nothing to make these because you can recoup costs after the 5th sale xD

#14024209 XBL Deals - 2018

Posted by CheepyDee on 13 July 2018 - 01:33 PM in Video Game Deals

They seem very reluctant to put Cuphead on sale.

#14024208 owlboy limited preorder on bestbuy

Posted by CheepyDee on 13 July 2018 - 01:32 PM in Video Game Deals

Considering the digialt version is 25, the physical copy with GCU seems like the better offer! It's a good game but not Limited Edition worthy.

Seems like an outdated ad.

#14022951 Darksiders 3 Blades & Whip Edition (Digital Xbox One) - $40

Posted by CheepyDee on 10 July 2018 - 12:20 PM in Video Game Deals

This edition will be $20 3 months after release. I'll buy it then. What an amazing surprise for those who bought this during the sale.

#14022118 Hollow Knight 7.49 on Mexico eShop (switch)

Posted by CheepyDee on 08 July 2018 - 04:36 PM in Video Game Deals

I have to imagine this will be the sale price soon in the US eShop. It's already sold a ton, so if they see a big drop in sales, which is soon inevitable, they'll rush to put it on sale. $7.50 by the end of August - I'm calling it!

#14022116 Nintendo eShop Deals - 7/30: DBZ & Two Tribes Sales! $8 Chasm,...

Posted by CheepyDee on 08 July 2018 - 04:33 PM in Video Game Deals

lol I got that for 50 cents using some gold coins

That's definitely a "this is fun for 2 minutes" kinda game

It looks like a Mario Party game except that the dev team could only think of one mini game.

#14022061 Hollow Knight 7.49 on Mexico eShop (switch)

Posted by CheepyDee on 08 July 2018 - 02:09 PM in Video Game Deals

I have about $100 in eshop credit from the various cdkeys and ebay card sales...so...definitely DONT do this, right?

edit: nope, I can just make a second account. That only applies to switching your original account's region. Nevermind. Thanks OP!

I'm assuming this will translate to English right? I know that for Monster Hunter XX if you downloaded the Japanese version, there was no English language option and you were screwed.

#14022055 Nintendo eShop Deals - 7/30: DBZ & Two Tribes Sales! $8 Chasm,...

Posted by CheepyDee on 08 July 2018 - 01:51 PM in Video Game Deals

Here are the new deals for today:

:switch:

Flinthook - $10.04 - 33% Off - Ends 7/12

I might have to jump on Flinthook though I have plenty to play that seems like a good price.

Wasn't Flinthook on sale for $7.50 just a month or two ago?

#14022042 My Best Buy Member Offer: Destiny 2 for $5.99/4.79

Posted by CheepyDee on 08 July 2018 - 01:09 PM in Video Game Deals

The main campaign was OK and well worth this price. Just treat it like a single player game and sometimes some randoms come in and help you. In that regard it's actually pretty cool! It's just not the epic we were all promised. Although it should have been on because on paper, Bungie with Activision funding should've guaranteed near perfection.

I love how the price on the Astro Bears Party went UP since the last time it was on sale...because it's more popular? lmao..

#14020805 DropMix Music Gaming System $30 @ Best Buy, Card Packs $3.50 each

Posted by CheepyDee on 05 July 2018 - 02:13 PM in Video Game Deals

Amiibo and GH both interface with consoles. This does not. I wish it were GCU too, but I'm guessing that's the rationale.

Still odd considering it's regarding a piece of interactive software. Your theory holds a ton of weight though, thanks. I didn't even consider there wasn't a way to play this on console. Is it meant to be casted to a TV or something?
